This new paper goes over some previously discussed (including by Scafetta and colleagues) planetary themes and cites numerous sources. Here we’ll look at one aspect: the ‘quasi-millennial oscillation of the planetary model’ referred to in Figure 5B of the paper. By use of Arnholm’s solar simulator it can be shown that the planetary motion period in question (JEV, meaning Jupiter-Earth-Venus) repeats every 996 years, as per the Talkshop post here, more details below.

Abstract: Recent studies show that solar activity exhibits a complex array of oscillatory behaviors spanning from monthly to millennial scales. Among these, the 11-year Schwabe cycle stands out as the most widely recognized solar oscillation. A number of solar oscillations appear to influence Earth’s climate and offer promising avenues for understanding and forecasting climate variability. The origin of this array of solar cycles is still debated within the scientific community. One prevailing view links solar cycles entirely to internal magnetic dynamo processes operating inside the Sun. An alternative hypothesis suggests that planetary gravitational interactions and orbital configurations may modulate the solar dynamo itself, introducing specific periodic solar oscillations. This study examines key observational findings that support the planetary hypothesis of the connection of solar variability with climate dynamics. It is shown that planetary-induced spectral features closely align with the dominant solar and climate cycles across a broad range of temporal scales. [bold added]

One of the research groups with papers cited by Scafetta & Bianchini is Frank Stefani’s HZDR team in Germany. From a 2019 press release for one of their papers:
“Everything points to a clocked process,” Frank Stefani, a researcher at HZDR and lead author of the new study, said in a statement. “What we see is complete parallelism with the planets over the course of 90 cycles.”

In the J-E-V chart on the right from our Talkshop post we have 84 Jupiter orbits, which we explain as 6*14, with the corresponding solar cycles being 6*15 = 90, given a Jupiter orbit to solar cycle ratio of 14:15.
Another S&B citation is for this 2020 article from Russia by V. P. Okhlopkov [abstract only here] which says:
‘Only Venus, Earth, and Jupiter in their linear configurations have an 11-year cycle. The JEV index is compared with solar activity and it is shown that the average 11-year periodicity in the JEV index and in solar activity over a 1000-year time interval coincide to two decimal places. This indicates a possible relationship between the JEV index and the 11-year solar activity cycle.’ [bold added]
The solar simulator graphics illustrate the 996-year cycle (repeating JEV triple conjunction on the right of the Sun):
Note: the solar simulator is based on an ephemeris developed by renowned Belgian astronomer Jean Meeus and a colleague. Its reference frame is based on ‘looking down on Sun’s north pole’.
