Gondwanax paraisensis does not enter the LRT

Müller 2024 described an incomplete skeleton
“Gondwanax paraisensis gen. et sp. nov is the oldest “silesaurid” with three sacral vertebrae, a feature usually observed in more derived forms.”

By contrast, in the large reptile tree (LRT, 2327 taxa) Silesaurus (Fig 1) nests among the Poposauria, the outgroup to the Archosauria = crocs + dinos only. These other taxa rarely appear in silesaurus cladograms, including the one published in Müller 2024.

By contrast, in the LRT all the poposaurs have three sacral vertebrae.

Gondwanax (CAPPA/UFSM 0417) est 1m long is incomplete and will not enter the LRT.

From the Müller 2024 abstract
“Whereas some hypotheses place these archosaurs as the sister-group to dinosaurs, others suggest that “silesaurids” are early ornithischian dinosaurs. Despite the phylogenetic disputes, “silesaurids” are a crucial group for comprehending the origins and early evolution of dinosaurs.”

Not that crucial. More crucial are the basal bipedal crocodylomorphs that rarely make it to dinosaur origin cladograms. Also, why are Turfanosuchus and Poposaurus (Fig 1) so often omitted?

It is so important to nest your taxon correctly in a wide gamut cladogram that minimizes taxon exclusion.
