A graduate of Trinity College and Covenant Theological Seminary, he serves at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where he leads The River, a contemporary worship service that blends the ancient traditions of the Episcopal Church with modern expressions of worship.
Before entering ministry, Rev. Cerveny worked as a journalist, author, and songwriter, touring internationally and releasing several studio albums. Rev. Cerveny is also the founder and Executive Director of Redbird Ministries, a nonprofit whose mission is to reach out to the world and back into the church with the hope and healing of the gospel. Through Redbird, Rev. Cerveny has ministered to professional athletes, journalists, politicians, pastors, and priests.
He and his wife of 21 years, Charla, live in Jacksonville, Florida, with their three children (Emmy, Wiley, and Scout) and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lolly.
