Telling Events from Trump’s Inauguration – Just Whose Side is This Guy On?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

A hero. For many, Donald Trump seemed like a figure chosen by God to rescue the nation from oppressive leadership that threatened our freedoms. With hoped in our hearts, we voted for him, marveling at what appeared to be divine intervention in his survival and success. To some, he seemed like one of us—a follower of Christ.

During his inaugural ceremony, Trump’s promises to restore the nation’s strength and beauty resonated deeply. His words painted a picture of a bright future, and for a moment, they felt like answers to long-awaited prayers. Yet, there was an unease beneath the surface. The words were what we wanted to hear, but something about the moment felt off.

Reflections on Deception

Over the years, I’ve learned to be wary of the narratives fed to us by others. Like many, I’ve been deceived by major events in my lifetime: questions about the moon landing, the assassination of JFK, the true nature of 9/11, and even the actions of my own religious organization. These experiences have instilled a sense of caution in me.

Hearing President Trump’s speech today, I tempered my optimism with this caution. The Bible warns of great deception in the last days. In Matthew 24:24, Jesus reminds us:

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Daily, I pray for discernment to see through such deceptions. God’s guidance has illuminated truths I might otherwise have missed. With this clarity, let us analyze some elements of today’s inauguration.

The Bible and the Oath

One significant detail from the ceremony stands out: Trump did not place his hand on the Bible during the oath of office. Was this an oversight? A momentary lapse amidst the excitement? Or was it deliberate? While the Constitution’s Article II, Section I does not require the use of a Bible for the presidential oath, nearly all presidents have chosen to use one.

In 2017, Trump clearly placed his hand on a Bible, as shown in this photo above.

Today, however, the Bible was present but untouched. Could this signify a statement of independence, suggesting that Trump plans to lead without acknowledging God’s partnership? The presence of the Bible, yet its exclusion, feels like a deliberate choice with deeper implications.

A Message of Peace

In his inaugural address, Trump expressed a desire to be known as a “peacemaker and unifier.” He said:

“We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars that we end, and perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into.”

Such words are what we long to hear: a leader bringing peace to a divided and broken world. However, the Bible warns us that the Antichrist will also come as a peacemaker. In Daniel 8:25, we read:

“And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.”

This verse describes a deceiver who uses peace as a tool for destruction. Could today’s “peace” be part of a more sinister agenda? Trump’s mention of the recent hostage-release agreement between Israel and Hamas is a step toward peace, but it also aligns with the biblical narrative of the Antichrist establishing a false peace.

“I’m pleased to say that, as of yesterday, one day before I assumed office, the hostages in the Middle East are coming back home to their families.”

The Rider on the White Horse

In Revelation 6:2-4, the Apostle John writes:

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”

Many biblical scholars interpret the rider on the white horse as the Antichrist, bringing a temporary peace followed by destruction. Could Trump’s vision of peace and his potential role in facilitating the rebuilding of Solomon’s Temple on the Temple Mount align with this prophecy?

A Warning for the Elect

The Bible warns that even the elect could be deceived in the last days. Trump’s actions and promises may seem to fulfill our prayers for peace, but vigilance is crucial. In the coming years, miraculous events under his leadership may further validate his role in the eyes of the world. Yet, scripture reminds us that the Antichrist is prophesied to perform signs and wonders to deceive.

As we move forward, let us hold fast to God’s Word. Daniel 9:27 speaks of the Antichrist confirming a covenant with many, breaking it midway, and leading to abominations. Let this serve as a reminder to remain alert and discerning. The “peace” we see today may not be what it appears.

May we all seek God’s wisdom as we navigate these uncertain times, firmly grasping the iron rod of His truth. Peace is coming over the next several years. Let us rejoice, but let us understand that it will be this peace which will deceive many into following the antichrist, and displaying their loyalty to him who will destroy their souls.
