Waiting on the Lord…To Teach Me — Via the Wayfaring Gal — April 26, 2026
Psalm 25:4-8
Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. (Ps 25:4)
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. (Ps 25:5)
Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. (Ps 25:6)
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. (Ps 25:7)
Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. (Ps 25:8)
There have been many times during my Narrow Way walk when I have felt discouraged and so alone; but the Lord has always been there, showing me that those thoughts are from the “Whisperers,” and are not my own. I have been contending with the enemy quite a bit lately.
All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt. (Ps 41:7)
It has been through much instruction—and many lessons learned by following Jesus—that have kept me going; not that I have ever considered turning back.
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. (Heb 10:39)
There comes a point when you know the Strait Gate and Narrow Way Jesus told us about—and commanded us to go through—is the absolute only “way” there is…if we ever want to make it to heaven.

Strong’s definition for “way”:
G3598
ὁδός
hodos
hod-os’
Apparently a primary word; a road; by implication a progress (the route, act or distance); figuratively a mode or means:—journey, (high-) way.
Matt 7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (Matt 7:13)
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt 7:14)
One of the first lessons I learned was in a dream; a dream that, I believe, came from the Lord. But, I did not realize the depth of the dream right away.
The lesson was this: That the Narrow Way walk would be a long journey and would take much patience; which totally contradicts the modern day instant false salvation gospel being preached EVERYWHERE and hardly anyone stands up against it.
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (Jas 1:4)
But, because it is written, the false teachers and doctrines must come to pass, just as Jesus warned, especially in Matthew and Peter.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Matt 7:15)
2Pet 2:1-2
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2Pet 2:1)
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (2Pet 2:2)
The fact that there would be false teachers was another component of my dream I just now realized as I am writing this [“…there was also an instructor. He turned on the TV and although I have no idea what was being taught, I started complaining that it was a lie…”].
I find it very interesting that it took 25+ years for me to make that connection. Blinded by Satan? Perhaps…

Well, I’ve made it through another winter… Seems like I was just writing last year about how it was late fall already and now here it is spring, a new year and winter is behind me. Winters are the hardest time for me because of living in the upper mid-west. It’s very difficult to get out and about in the cold with my health issues, which causes cabin fever and depresses me. That’s when Satan loves to come in for the kill, so to speak.
Back to my original thought about having patience and waiting on the Lord, while He waits upon me. It’s a very strange dynamic; but true, nonetheless. We must have patience, but it’s easy to forget how much more patience God the Father and Jesus Christ have for us.
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. (Jas 5:7)

There is so much to understand, and with time, the Lord will teach us what we need to learn; especially about our hidden heart, and the inner man who resides there. Jeremiah told us exactly what the problem is—and remains to be—unless and until we are authentically regenerated/born again.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jer 17:9)
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (Jer 17:10)
It’s also why I believe the Lord led me to the song below, creating the lyric video from it, and prompting me to write this Post. I needed to be reminded that God is the one who draws us to Jesus, at the appointed time, not in my time.
John 6:44-45
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44)
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. (John 6:45)
I believe I was led to the singer of this song, Sarah Chrisfiddle. She was the only one I could find who sang all the lyrics and sang them so beautifully.

The restless feeling I get when homebound and watching all the craziness going on in this world gives the devil an inroad to start making me doubt myself. This is exactly when I need to remember to lean on the Scriptures to see me through it all.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (Jas 4:7)
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (Jas 4:8)
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. (Jas 4:9)
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. (Jas 4:10)
Teach Me, Lord, to Wait | Sarah Chrisfiddle | Lyrics:
From the prophet Isaiah:
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. (Isa 40:28)
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. (Isa 40:29)
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: (Isa 40:30)
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isa 40:31)

More of my favorite verses when I need encouragement… waiting… waiting… waiting… to be BORN AGAIN:
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. (Ps 40:1)
In your patience possess ye your souls. (Luke 21:19)
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ. (2Thess 3:5)

Lyrics
Teach Me, Lord, To Wait
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings as eagles
They shall run and not grow weary
They shall walk and not faint
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait
Teach me Lord to wait down on my knees
Till in Your own good time You answer my pleas
Teach me not to rely on what others do
But to wait in prayer for an answer from You
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings as eagles
They shall run and not grow weary
They shall walk and not faint
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait
Teach me Lord to wait while hearts are aflame
Let me humble my pride and call on Your name
Keep my faith renewed, my eyes on You
Let me be on this earth what You want me to be
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings as eagles
They shall run and not be weary
They shall walk and not faint
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait
There’s a time and a season for all things
You have promised in Your word to answer my pleas
I’m crying to You Lord, to grant sweet relief
Oh, Lord please remove all my unbelief
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength
They shall mount up with wings as eagles
They shall run and not grow weary
They shall walk and not faint
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait
Teach me Lord, teach me Lord to wait
The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. (Ps 118:14)
Eccl 12:13-14
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Eccl 12:13)
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Eccl 12:14)

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (Heb 13:8)
