Is It in the Bible?  Is it True?  When Does it Happen? 

The rapture is one of the most misunderstood and most controversial topics in the Bible.  Some say it’s not true, others call it a secret rapture, then there is the pre trib, mid trib, and post tribulation argument and so on.  For me there is only one way to find the truth and that is.. what does the Bible say about it.  

The rapture means a catching away and refers to when Jesus returns for his followers and takes them off the earth.  But the Bible also clearly tells us that the rapture and the resurrection happen as one event so you can’t have one without the other.  Therefore if you don’t believe in the rapture, you must also not believe in the resurrection because they happen at the same time.   For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud shout, with the voice of the archangel  and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.  1 Thessalonians 4:16-17  This scripture tells us about the rapture and resurrection.  Notice it says that the dead will rise first and then those who are still alive will be caught up together with them, so it happens as one event.  And we can see that it is no secret, it is clearly stated. 

So then when does this happen, pre, mid, or post tribulation.  The reason there is so much controversy about this is because most believers simply avoid the Book of Revelation like it was the plague.  They make every kind of excuse as to why they can’t understand it and even don’t believe that God can teach it to them.  Yet this is the Most Important Book to read Now because we are living in the End Times.  You would think that an earth shattering event like the resurrection/rapture should be mentioned in the Bible right?  Well it is, it’s in the book that no one reads.  First let’s clear one thing up and then we can easily see whether it’s pre, mid, or post tribulation and that is…when does the tribulation start?  Does the Bible tell us?  Of course it does, but again it’s in the book that no one reads.  

The Book of Revelation tells us about 21 judgments that will happen.  They are explained as the opening of 7 seals, the blowing of 7 trumpets, and the pouring out of 7 bowls.  In Revelation Chapter 6 we find out about the 7 seals that are opened.  When the 6th seal is opened many earth shattering events take place and then it says…for the day of their wrath has come.  Those that study the Bible know that God’s coming wrath is the tribulation, and Chapter 6:17 tells us that day has come which means that “that day” is the start of the Tribulation.  And this is what happens in Chapter 7 starting at verse 9. After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands……Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”   I answered, “Sir, you know.”  And he said, “These are they who have come out of great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  If you read Chapter 7 from verse 9 to the end of the chapter you will see that Yes, this IS the Resurrection/Rapture.  Why?  Because they are a great multitude, they are from all over the earth, they are in heaven, they are wearing white robes, and then the elder asks, who are they and where did they come from?  And then answers his own question….they are believers in Jesus who came out of great tribulation (persecution) and now they are Home.  I still remember when God opened my eyes and showed me this, it was another Wow moment, but there it is.   And when does it happen, right near the start of the tribulation which makes sense, believers don’t need to go through the tribulation because we have already made our choice.  The tribulation is for those who still haven’t and many will when the judgments start happening and they realize that it’s all true.  

So that clears it all up.  The resurrection and rapture happen at the same time, they happen at the start of the tribulation, yes it is in the Bible, and it’s not a secret, it’s real.  What about you?   Are you going to be the one that is left or the one that leaves?
