When criminals are in power and control all government institutions and the electoral process, what counts is not the votes of the people, but who counts the votes and how they are counted.
It is naive to think that in this situation through the electoral process it is possible to remove the criminals from power. To criminals the end justifies the means, and for those in power, retaining their power is the goal.
