Since their beginning, many have wondered why the band decided to name themselves Led Zeppelin.
A Zeppelin is a large German dirigible airship of the early 20th century, long and cylindrical in shape and with a rigid framework. Zeppelins were used during World War I for reconnaissance and bombing, and after the war as passenger transports until the 1930s.
Maybe it was a play on words like “Lead” Zeppelin, as in, a Zeppelin that cannot fly due to its contruction being made out of the heavy metal lead.
Another thing that cannot fly is an angel that has fallen into a human body.
That’s pretty interesting as the band uses this image of an angel falling from heaven as one of its premier logos.
The Bible states in Psalm 82: 6-7
“I have said, Ye are gods H430; and all of you are children of the most High.
But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.” - (KJV Holy Bible)
The word ‘gods‘ is the Hebrew word H430 אֱלֹהִים ‘ĕlôhı̂ym and means: angels!

But that’s not all. Let’s look at the band name once again.
Led Zeppelin.
The Bible also states that we were ‘led into captivity’.
We are angels that were exiled from heaven and led into captivity to the earth by being born into mortal human bodies!
Led Zeppelin uses the logo of an angel falling from heaven which matches the exact truth that the Bible declares!
Now things are starting to make a lot of sense!
Let’s have a closer look at the design of this image again.
Why is the angel holding onto the letter’s Z and P?
In alphanumerics the letter Z = 26 and the letter P = 16.
ZP = 2616.
The corresponding definition in the Bible for the numerical value of 2616 is the word καταδυναστεύω katadunasteuō meaning: to exercise power over.
Further defining this word, we understand it means ‘properly, powerfully bringing someone down (denying them the higher position or blessing they should enjoy)’.
WOW! That’s exactly what is happening to the angel that is holding on to the Z and the P! The angel is being powerfully brought down to earth and denied the higher position of his heavenly rank!

Led Zeppelin got its name from Pete Townshend of The Who commenting about Jimmy Page’s new band.
He stated it would go down like a ‘lead balloon’.
So Jimmy Page used this as the idea for a band name.
