Word Origin and History for Lucifer: Old English Lucifer “Satan,” also “morning star,” from Latin Lucifer “morning star,” literally “light-bringing,” from lux (genitive lucis) “light” (see light (n.)) + ferre “carry” (see infer).
Belief that it was the proper name of Satan began with its use in Bible to translate Greek Phosphoros, which translates Hebrew Helel ben Shahar in Isaiah xiv:12 — “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!” [KJV] Because of the mention of a fall from Heaven, the verse was interpreted by Christians as a reference to Satan, even though it is literally a reference to the King of Babylon (cf. Isaiah xiv:4).
Lucifer, a once arch angel, who was by historical reference called – “Light Bearer.” Because of his jealously of god, got cast out of heaven for treason. 1/3 of all angels followed him, and he is a convincing figure. This 1/3 of damned angels actually act on their own volition, but follow Lucifer’s beliefs, total chaos. Lucifer, one of the highest angels, fled to earth because he wished to kill Jesus 3 times, but failed. He still awaits for judgment day where he will again fail to defeat the pious and faithful, but he will still try.

Pretty good post Jeff, I’m pleasantly surprised – a few errors here and there but not too bad.
The only problem is that Satan does NOT look like that. The Bible describes him as being full of wisdom and beauty – a far more terrifying prospect!
And yes . . “The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist.” . . is a great line from The Usual Suspects – one of my favorite movies.
Satan and Lucifer are not the same angelic being.

This woman in the basket is Satan carried off by 2 female angels. God told the snake, Satan that it would be earthbound because of her wickedness as Satan was the cause of the wickedness in the world, God dewinged Satan and it is why she has to be carried.
