Dominion Amateur Gymnastics to hold the Jerrell Steele Invitational in Partnership with Gym Quest Gymnastics
Over 1,300 local, regional, and international gymnasts will compete in this year’s Jerrell Steele Invitational
Richmond, VA (MMD Newswire) December 1, 2015 — Dominion Amateur Gymnastics, in partnership with the host gym, Gym Quest Gymnastics, presents the 15th annual USAG Sanctioned Event: Jerrell Steele Invitational on January 8, 2015 – January 10, 2016 at the Richmond Raceway Complex in Richmond VA.
This competition is in honor of a great friend and fellow Coach, Jerrell Steele, who was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident on June 17, 2001. He was a wonderful Coach and was a ray of sunshine at the gym. He adored the children and the children adored him as well. We are honored to continue the tradition of the Jerrell Steele Invitational Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics Competition with the largest number of athletes yet for this meet making it one of the largest USAG Gymnastics competitions in the region. To accommodate this incredible growth the event will he held again in large exhibition hall at the Richmond Raceway Complex. This gymnastics event is both a Men’s and Women’s competition for gymnasts from level 2 through elite.
The 2016 Jerrell Steele Invitational is the fourth year the meet is offering a voluntary, spectator donated scholarship to NAIGC, (National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs), athletes. We are hopeful that the funds received, however small, will help the athlete with their gymnastics endeavors. The competition begins on Friday at 5:00PM with both men’s and women’s sessions. The meet continues thru Sunday with women’s and men’s gymnastics each day occurring simultaneously. Additional information about schedules can be found at www.jerrellsteele.com/schedules/.
