Chartwell Law Adds the 22 Lawyers of Wadsworth Huott; Continues Growth of Florida Practices

October 1, 2015 (MMD Newswire) — The Chartwell Law Offices, LLP, announced today that it is incorporating the 22 Florida lawyers now practicing as Wadsworth Huott, LLP, increasing Chartwell’s presence in Florida to 40 attorneys. Chartwell now has offices in Tallahassee, Orlando, Jupiter, Fort Lauderdale, Ft. Myers, and Miami and litigates cases throughout the entire state of Florida.

Wadsworth Huott is a renowned defense firm handling high exposure litigation for national retailers, trucking companies, insurance carriers and self insured companies. Chris Wadsworth is regarded as one of the “go to” trial attorneys in Florida, having tried more than 100 cases to verdict. Mr. Wadsworth was the founder of the firm and has served as its Managing Partner for 11 years.

Chartwell was founded in Valley Forge, Pa. by four lawyers in 2002. Following rapid growth and the opening of offices in Pittsburgh, Scranton, Philadelphia and Harrisburg, PA, Chartwell expanded into New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Florida. Chartwell focuses on a wide array of matters including Admiralty and Maritime Law, Auto Law, Cargo and Trucking, Commercial Litigation, Construction Litigation, Creditors’ Rights, Employment and Labor Law, General and Professional Liability, Insurance and Reinsurance Coverage and Defense, Products Liability, Property Insurance and Workers’ Compensation cases. With the addition of the Wadsworth Huott attorneys, Chartwell grows to over 110 attorneys.

“This is an important new chapter for Wadsworth Huott,” said Chris Wadsworth. “We have worked hard to gain the respect of the industry. The timing is perfect as it gives us the opportunity to use Chartwell’s positioning to expand our practices to the entire eastern seaboard, while Chartwell can increase its footprint in the important Florida market. This is a great fit and we are excited about moving forward together”.

Charles Barreras, one of Chartwell’s founding partners, added: “Chartwell was impressed with the Wadsworth Huott team and the close personal and professional relationships they have forged with their clients. We felt that combining forces with Wadsworth Huott would create tremendous synergies and cross-marketing opportunities for all involved. These litigators bring with them a tremendous amount of trial experience, which deepens Chartwell’s bench strength for a broader array of work throughout Florida”

“We will continue to expand our firm, both geographically and by practice area, whenever we come across talented litigators who are also good people. The team at Wadsworth Huott certainly fits that bill,” noted Chartwell CEO Cliff Goldstein.
