Church Offers Free Spa Day for Single Moms
Snellville, Georgia (MMD Newswire) April 29, 2015 — Who deserves a little pampering and relaxation more than single moms? This Saturday, May 2, a church in Gwinnett County is giving an early Mother’s Day gift to those who need it the most.Evangel Community Church of Snellville (www.evangelcc.org) is providing a free spa day exclusively for single moms that will include a manicure, pedicure, massage and haircut. In addition to these spa services, the moms will be treated to brunch, and receive a car wash and oil change. The ladies won’t need to worry about what to do with their kids, either, because the church is also offering childcare.
“There are a lot of single moms in our community,” said Tim Gross, Evangel’s Lead Pastor. “Many of them feel overwhelmed. We just want to give them a break for a few hours from the stresses of parenting alone. Hopefully they will leave refreshed and encouraged.”
Professionally trained technicians will be performing all of the spa services, so this package is worth well over $150. However, Evangel has partnered with many local businesses that are donating or discounting their services in order to make this event possible.
Not surprisingly, with very little promotion, all of the appointments were filled just days after registration opened. The only people more excited than the single moms who will be enjoying the spa day may be the volunteers from Evangel who will be hosting them. “We can’t wait,” Pastor Tim said. “Everyone in our church knows a single mom whom they love and admire. Many were raised by a single mom, and some have a grown daughter who is parenting alone. So it is a joy to serve these special ladies.”
