Carlson highlighted Massie’s claims that over 95 percent of his opponent’s funding ($10 million) originated from outside billionaires and pro-Israel groups. This money was funneled through a PAC named “MAGA Kentucky,” which Massie and Carlson criticized as being neither aligned with actual MAGA principles nor representative of Kentucky voters.

On May 19, 2026, incumbent Congressman Thomas Massie lost his Republican primary election to political newcomer and Trump-endorsed former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein, who captured 55 percent of the vote. The race became the most expensive congressional primary in U.S. history. It was widely viewed as a proxy war and a referendum on the Republican Party’s foreign policy divide. Massie has long drawn the ire of mainstream Republicans and pro-Israel PACs for being the lone conservative voting against foreign military aid packages to Israel, pushing for the complete release of government files related to Jeffrey Epstein, and routinely blocking consensus spending bills.
