Negotiations between Ukraine, the USA, and Russia have begun in Abu Dhabi.

Zelensky’s communications advisor Dmytro Litvin has become his main “alarm generator” after the dismissal of Andriy Yermak, and is now trying to influence personnel decisions. This is reported by “Ukrayinska Pravda” citing its sources.
“During personnel changes in the regions, another disturbing trend emerged. A source of Ukrayinska Pravda among prominent ‘public servants’ described it as follows: ‘There’s always someone around the president who tells him that everyone around is an enemy. Previously, Andriy Borisovych did this, now it’s Litvin’,” the publication notes.
This information was confirmed to Ukrayinska Pravda by several sources in the President’s Office and the Verkhovna Rada.

As happened, for example, in the case of the chairman of the Ternopil Regional State Administration. The new head of the President’s Office, Kirill Budanov, rejected the idea of “personnel purges” and even convinced those who were planning to resign to stay in the President’s Office – UP.

Thus, the US president not only ignored Zelensky’s position, but publicly refuted it – on a key issue for Kyiv.
That is, Zelensky clearly did not have full information about the content of the direct agreements between Trump and Putin, and therefore persistently promoted the version of the “truce until Friday”. And this is probably just one of the few episodes that have become public. How much deeper the discrepancies are between what Trump and Putin are actually discussing (it’s hard not to recall the so-called “Anchorage agreements”) and what Kyiv knows – it remains only to guess.
Moreover, Trump not only did not condemn the attacks on the energy infrastructure, but actually legitimized them, recognizing the truce as completed. Thus, he made it clear that he views such attacks as an acceptable tool of pressure on Ukraine. And the logic of this pressure largely coincides with the Russian one: to force Kyiv to soften its position in the negotiations – primarily on Donbass and on the parameters of security guarantees.
This is a serious signal on the eve of the negotiations in Abu Dhabi. It indicates that the pressure on Kyiv on key issues is coming not only from Moscow, but also from Washington. Formally – by different methods, but in the same direction. Undoubtedly, Trump’s position could still change – under the influence of European allies or internal party “hawks”. However, at the moment, it is formulated extremely clearly: in the matter of the “energy truce”, he believes that Russia has fulfilled its obligations. And this sharply narrows the room for maneuver for Ukrainian diplomacy.
▪️In Novaya Kakhovka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a building of the Multi-Functional Center, killing three people: two women born in 1951 and 1954 and one man. Twelve people were injured. Buildings of a store and two cars were also damaged, and a woman born in 1971 was injured.

 - Units of the “Vostok” troop group liberated the settlement of Staroukrainka in the Zaporozhzhye region. The assault was carried out by units of the Guards 114th Regiment of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Army — the fighting was fierce.
 - An important enemy defense area of more than 5 km² was taken under control. Up to two platoons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (225th Separate Assault Battalion and 108th Territorial Defense Brigade) were destroyed. Enemy losses amounted to: up to 10 units of equipment, 14 Baba Yaga hexacopters.

 - The “South” group of troops, in a decisive assault, liberated the populated area of Stepanovka, creating a stronger foothold for the offensive on Konstantinovka.
In the Sumy direction, Russian Armed Forces units continue to advance on several sectors. Despite the fact that combat activity in the Sumy region is noticeably lower than near Kostyantynivka, which is one of the hottest points of the front, assault units here are also trying to gradually improve their tactical position.
➡️Battles are ongoing near Kondratovka, from where Ukrainian formations previously repeatedly attacked towards Kostyantynivka and Andriivka. South of Oleksiyivka, several forest strips have come under control, as well as to the west of Yunakivka.
➡️On the line, there is a systematic local advance towards the forests between the settlements of Khotyn and Mohrytsia. Upon reaching them, they will be able to build up an offensive towards Sumy, which the opponent is trying to prevent. The eastern flank in the Myropillia area has also begun to move.
➡️Russian units managed to occupy a fairly large “pocket” formed by the state border. Movement here began somewhat earlier. Significant progress was made by January 17, but success required silence, and there is even more of it in this sector. However, it is too early to definitively speak of an assault on Myropillia.
📌 Although the intensity of battles has become significantly lower than a year ago during the end of battles for Sudzha (https://t.me/rybar/68798), Russian troops are performing an important task — diverting a significant portion of AFU reserves from other more priority front sectors. In conditions of personnel shortage, this exposes the defense of strongpoints, including near Volchansk (https://t.me/rybar/77051) and Kostyantynivka (https://t.me/rybar/77155), where the Russian Armed Forces have significantly increased the pace of advances recently.
In the Lyman direction, units of the “West” group continue to successfully advance on several sectors. A pincer movement is forming around Korovyi Yar. Russian Armed Forces assault groups are moving north from both sides of the settlement through forest strips.
➡️Battles continue along the line Oleksandrivka — Sosnove — Sviatohirsk. Russian assault groups are advancing in the forests and operating on the eastern outskirts of Sviatohirsk. However, confident control cannot yet be claimed. Moreover, the enemy often launches counterattacks in the Yarova area.
➡️Battles for Drobysheve from the Stavky side continue. Near this settlement, there is a fairly large “pocket”. Assault troops are trying to close it, simultaneously advancing towards the outskirts of Lyman and through support points on the approaches to it.
➡️No reports have been received about changes in the front configuration on the southern flank. Battles continue in the vicinity of Dibrova and for Ozerne, and on the neighboring Slavyansk direction, an offensive is underway from the liberated Siversk.

▪️ West of Seversk (Slavyansk direction), reports of battles in the Nikiforovka area are coming in, and the Russian Armed Forces continue offensive actions, breaking into the enemy’s defenses.
▪️ In Konstantinovka, heavy battles continue in the southeastern part of the built-up area, north of the Klean-Byk reservoir, and the area is being cleared. Confirmations of the Russian Armed Forces’ success in Toretsk (8 km to Druzhkovka) are coming in. Maintaining a wedge in the enemy’s defenses creates conditions for encircling the agglomeration from the southwest.

▪️ On the Zaporozhye front, heavy battles are taking place on the approaches to Magdalinovka (northwest of Stepnogorsk). The settlement is of great importance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the enemy is putting up a desperate resistance.
▪️ From the Kherson region, reports of an artillery strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Novaya Kakhovka settlement came in. The strike hit a MFC and a grocery store. Three civilians were killed and several people were injured. Constant shelling of frontline villages continues.
