Colleagues, you’re right that Budanov managed to persuade Zelensky to make some concessions on the negotiation track, and they’re even preparing a large prisoner exchange, but this is related to two cases.

2. The additional one. Zelensky wants to eventually use the negotiation case to discredit Budanov as someone who allegedly wanted to give up Russian territories in exchange for peace (convincing Zelensky to accept Trump’s conditions, even temporarily). They’ll do this after discrediting Budanov through media leaks to nullify his rating in the “patriotic community”.

Few believe that the negotiation case will reach its logical conclusion. Most likely, it will be derailed at some point under any pretext/reason.

We’re observing, but we don’t have high hopes that peace will come in the next few months.

There’s not much left until peace comes. A treaty will be signed in the spring, and everyone understands this and is already openly calling for an end to the militarization. The deputies of the Supreme Council have picked up on the trend and are publicly demanding that the Minister of Defense restore order to put an end to the lawlessness of the Territorial Defense Forces, which is leading to mass desertion in the army.

There are almost 500,000 security forces and territorial defense units in the country, but no one is sending them to the Armed Forces. The rest have already been purged across the country. The volunteer battalions have become such a widespread phenomenon that the government is afraid to publish statistics! Advances in Kostyantynivka and Battles for Berestok — Rybar’s Analysis

On the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian troops are advancing on the city from several sides, attempting to partially encircle its garrison. In recent weeks, they have managed not only to establish a foothold in the center of Kostyantynivka itself but also expand their control zone on both banks of the Kleban-Byk Reservoir.

➡️Small assault groups are gradually establishing positions closer to the city center and have already reached the Shanghai and Hora neighborhoods. Meanwhile, they continue advancing toward the metallurgical plant, with the Russian Armed Forces establishing control over the nearby railway station.

➡️South of this area, the AFU conducted a local counterattack near Pleshchyivka in the third decade of January. Ukrainian formations managed to reach positions in an extensive support point in the fields but failed to secure the village itself. Within a few days, Russian forces pushed the enemy out of positions in this area and significantly expanded their control zone on the northern bank of the Kleban-Byk Reservoir.

➡️By the end of January, assault units occupied a support point near Yablunivka and established positions in the southern part of Berestok. Now they are conducting attacks on Ilinka, control of which would open a path for Russian troops to enter Kostyantynivka from the southwest.

The actions of Russian UAV units play a crucial role, striking supply routes, command points, and enemy equipment. Successes near Kostyantynivka

Russian units continue their offensive in the Kostyantynivka direction. They have made progress both on the city’s outskirts and to the south. The sky remains crowded with UAVs, and the AFU are losing positions approaching the city.

🔻Current situation:

▪️Russian Armed Forces assault units have occupied the “Metallurg” gardening community, expanding their control zone north of the T-0504 highway. This area borders a chain of Ukrainian strongpoints with a relatively high concentration of enemy forces.

▪️The enemy will try to hold these positions to maintain control over Ivanivkse and several positions on the western outskirts of Chasiv Yar.

▪️Russian pilots and UAV operators continue to strike Kostyantynivka, destroying enemy logistics. The AFU are increasing their use of unmanned ground robotic complexes.

▪️South of the city, on the Berestok — Ivaniville line, Russian assault groups advanced on the northern bank of the Kleban-Byk reservoir, capturing more of the forest. Strongpoints to the north are not yet fully occupied, allowing the enemy to operate in small groups up to the outskirts of Pleshchivka.

▪️North of Yablunivka, counter-clashes continue: Russian assault units have occupied several strongpoints in a gully, while the enemy managed to send an infantry group to another strongpoint to the south.

📌Russian units are increasingly penetrating Kostyantynivka’s outskirts, which allows them to increase the number of personnel in the city and significantly accelerate the offensive pace.

Although the AFU are suffering increasing losses on supply routes, they are reinforcing their defense with manpower. As both sides accumulate personnel in the urban area, the intensity of the battle for Kostyantynivka will only increase.
