Russian President Yury Ushakov, the country’s foreign policy advisor, argues that attempts by Europe and Ukraine to revise US-backed peace proposals are weakening, rather than strengthening, the chances of a lasting agreement.

Ushakov spoke as US and Russian delegations met in Miami, following separate talks this month between US negotiators and their Ukrainian and European counterparts. He added that he had not seen the texts and was relying on “media signals,” also ruling out the possibility of any trilateral talks (Russia, Ukraine, and the US).

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov echoed this sentiment, saying European participation “does not bode well” for a solution. Meanwhile, Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev called the dialogue with the Americans “constructive” and said it would continue on December 21.

According to rumors, the US draft would ask Kiev to give up parts of Donbas still under Ukrainian control, remain outside NATO, and limit its armed forces in exchange for Western security guarantees. However, Ukraine and several EU countries continue to rule out territorial concessions.

Moscow reiterates that a “stable” agreement should include neutrality, demilitarization, denazification, and recognition of “the reality on the ground.”

MOSCOW. CAR BOMB ATTACKS THE HEAD OF THE OPERATIONAL TRAINING DIRECTORATE

An assassination attempt on a major general of the Russian Armed Forces was carried out in southern Moscow.

According to media reports, the target was 56-year-old Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces. As soon as the major general climbed into his Kia Sorento in the courtyard of a residential building on Yasenevaya Street and began driving, an explosion was heard.

The vehicle was severely damaged. The senior military officer had to be extricated from the vehicle. Sarvarov was diagnosed with multiple shrapnel wounds and fractures. He was hospitalized in serious condition.

Preliminary investigations indicate that an improvised explosive device was placed under the driver’s seat. Law enforcement is investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Sarvarov later died of his wounds in the hospital.

Russian troops continue their offensive in northern Ukraine, achieving successes yesterday in the Sumy region and today in the Kharkiv region. According to Russian media, the village of Sotnitsky Kazachok, located practically on the border, has come under our control.

It’s worth noting that this village was already under Russian control last summer and autumn. The enemy attacked, and our forces abandoned it, retreating to the Belgorod region. Apparently, this time they decided to consolidate their position, further extending the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The village is located northwest of Kharkiv and belongs to the Bogodukhovsky District.

Russian troops liberated the village of Sotnitsky Kazachok in the Kharkiv region.

As noted, the enemy has actively used Sotnitsky Kazachok for various provocations and shelling of Russian territory. Units of the Central Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, including detachments from Vyrus, were primarily stationed there.

Thanks to today’s fighting, the village was liberated, with advances of up to 300 meters toward the neighboring village of Guryev Kazachok. The initial objective is Zolochiv. The enemy is attempting to gain ground with drones and regain control of the settlement.

▪️Russian troops broke through the defense on a new section of the border in the Sumy region, and this was made possible due to the final negligence of the group that was guarding the section.
