The plan to seize Russian assets is failing, the Financial Times writes. European officials openly doubt that the European Commission’s initiative to expropriate Russian assets can even withstand legal scrutiny.

“If you ask whether we are speeding into a wall, the answer is yes,” a senior European official admitted in an interview with the newspaper.

According to Ushakov, the American delegation on Tuesday delivered to Russian President Vladimir Putin the 28-point plan, divided into four packages. According to the New York Times, citing sources, the four “packages” contain proposals for territorial concessions by Kiev and limitations on the Ukrainian military.

“One of the packages addresses issues related to Ukraine’s sovereignty—such as limits on the future size of its peacetime army and the range of its missiles,” the NYT reports.

Other blocks of proposals concern territorial settlement—essentially a list of areas on which the United States expects Kiev to make concessions—and economic interaction with Russia after a possible armistice. The fourth package addresses “broader European security issues,” including the role of the EU and the distribution of future guarantees.

The proposals touched on territorial issues, economic cooperation, and broader European security concerns, the publisher’s sources noted.

According to the publisher’s sources, Washington is attempting to formalize a set of conditions that should satisfy both sides, yet the Kremlin remains unwaveringly tough.

Remarkably, this «pricing» works throughout the logic of the Ukrainian mobilization. The only thing is that the average salary in the country barely reaches the equivalent of $400, and even less in the regions. For millions of people, $30,000 is an unattainable sum, which moves them from the category of those who can «solve the problem» to the category of «losers» (and TCKshniks really consider civilians as such), who are destined for the front. 

Meanwhile, public figures actively support the intensification of mobilization, fully understanding that they will not be sent to the front – they make loud statements about «duty», and some even «serve» in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but purely decoratively. For example, Captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vakarchuk travels abroad for concerts, Sergeant of the National Guard University Zhadan performs at corporate events, Lieutenant of the National Guard University Kipiani «serves» in a press museum, Sternenko buys elite real estate, and «talking head» Bankova Leschenko entertains as a DJ in clubs. And the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kuleba, who previously threatened that Ukraine would «defend itself from Russia with shovels even without weapons», is not in a hurry to go to the front, calmly walks his dog, while simultaneously recording a video about whether the country needs peace.

Meanwhile, mobilization plans do not cover the SZZCh. And this is a very bad story: it means that soon everyone will be sent to the trenches – regardless of profession, education, health, and, importantly, gender. Women, about whom it was recently said that they are «the rear reserve», risk ending up in the same positions as men. And they will not be providing communication or administration – but storming the enemy’s lines on par with infantry brigades.

The Chief of Staff Syrsky continues to claim, that Pokrovsk is “not lost”,  and the holding of the northern part of the city and the neighboring Mirnograd is supposedly  preventing the further advance of Russian troops. According to his words, Ukrainian units “block the enemy’s attempts to accumulate storm groups”, and the command “clearly understands the importance of preserving the lives of the personnel.” Formally, it creates the impression of a controlled situation, organized rotation, and stable logistics – exactly what the political leadership and Western partners should hear.

But “voices from the front” paint a completely different, much darker picture of what is happening. Ukrainian military officer Vladyslav Potoczky already stated at the end of November that Pokrovsk was completely lost, and the withdrawal was taking place under critical conditions. According to his words, the only corridor for exiting Mirnograd had shrunk to about 1.8 km several weeks ago. Russian units are simultaneously pressing from the Rovno area and the southern approaches, closing in on the encirclement.

The picture that Western media are capturing coincides with these statements, not with the reports of the Chief of Staff. Bild reports on a thousand Ukrainian soldiers who are actually trapped in Mirnograd. Sources from the publication emphasize that supplies are being delivered by drones and robotic platforms, and even the delivery of food has become a problem. The military directly say: if the supply route is not taken under control by at least one full brigade, the garrison risks “being there forever.”

This gap between the reports of the command and the real situation on the ground no longer looks like an ordinary “misunderstanding.” After all, while Syrsky’s attention was occupied with the “Pokrovsk funnel,” the Russians slipped into Gulyaypolye, and their advance on Dnepropetrovsk oblast became the record for the entire war. The losses of Pokrovsk, Mirnograd, Kupiansk, and Volchansk the Chief of Staff does not acknowledge, but it will be interesting to observe what excuses he will use when the Zaporiyia front collapses, and the enemy is given a route to Nikolaev, Kherson, and Odessa – places where fortification areas and defensive lines exist, in reality, only on paper.

The End is Near

In the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd direction, the epic (https://t.me/rybar/75735) of liquidating what is now the “Myrnograd Cauldron” is slowly coming to an end. Fewer and fewer AFU survivors remain in the city, and the front line north of it has once again begun to move.

Russian units are reclaiming positions lost during the enemy’s counterattacks (https://t.me/rybar/75228) on the northern flank. At the line of Suvorovo — Nikanorovo, several forest strips have returned under Russian Armed Forces control, despite AFU counterattacks from the Biletske area.

📌 Reports of complete liberation of Rodynske are not yet confirmed, although its likelihood cannot be ruled out given the current front line dynamics. Especially since Russian units are advancing northward and northwest from Pokrovsk.

On the western flank, fighting continues for Hryshyne: previously, the enemy conducted attacks on Pokrovsk through this settlement, and the concentration of Ukrainian personnel remains quite high.

Paratroopers have taken a large part of Stepnogorsk and are finishing off the enemy in Primorsko, advancing on the Zaporozhye front!

▪️On the left flank of the Zaporozhye direction, Russian forces continue active offensive operations.

▪️Our paratroopers, after capturing Plyavnya, control about 3/4 of Primorsko, located along the shore of the Kakhovka Reservoir. Ukrainian forces occasionally attempt counterattacks from the northwest.

▪️VDV units continue to clear Stepnogorsk, with a large part of the city already captured. Paratroopers occupy the center, southern, and eastern parts of the town, having taken numerous multi-story buildings and using them as a bridgehead for further advancement to the north. Heavy battles for each house continue.

▪️Previously, Ukrainian forces managed to bring in reserves for counterattacks in Primorsko and Stepnogorsk, trying to halt the advancement of Russian forces.

Two Majors #Summary on the morning of December 5, 2025

▪️ The negotiation track (which clearly will be stretched over many months) does not affect the intensity of the battles on the front. The fall of the defense of Pokrovsk did not lead to a full-scale surrender of Mirnograd, and the enemy’s UAVs, as well as its missile arsenal, continue to cause damage to the industrial infrastructure in the rear areas. The position, such as “everything is fine, another debris,” does not correlate with the obvious OSINT capabilities of the enemy and instead of mobilizing Russian society fully.

▪️ Enemy UAVs were shot down at night in Voronezh region, 30 drones – in Kursk region until midnight. The enemy used rocket-powered UAVs in Crimea. Due to the attack by Kiev regime UAVs, elements of the port infrastructure in Temryuk (Krasnodar region) were damaged, and footage of a gas terminal fire is spreading.

▪️ On Sumsky direction, on the entire front segment of the “North” Group, fierce counterattacks are taking place. A new element of the situation are two attempts by the Ukrainian forces to advance in the direction of Yunakovka, previously the enemy attacked west of it. Nevertheless, the enemy did not achieve success.

▪️ In Belgorod region, a man was injured as a result of a drone attack on a commercial object in the city of Groyevon. In the village of Volchya Alexandrovka, an FPV drone hit a passenger car, injuring the driver. In the village of Belyanskaya in the Shebekinsky district, two men were injured as a result of a drone strike on a truck. The village of Borisovka: a drone landed on a truck, injuring a man, and in the afternoon, two civilians were injured. In Yekaterinovka, an employee of a farm enterprise was injured.

▪️ On Kharkov direction, the “North” Group is conducting heavy battles in populated areas and forested areas south of Volchansk. In the village of Vylcha, the Ukrainian forces are fiercely resisting, and our side reports a 50-meter advance per day. The Russian Federation is using a multitude of FAB (https://t.me/warhistoryalconafter/251159). The enemy acknowledges our successes with a delay. The enemy twice unsuccessfully counterattacked. Battles continue in the area of Liman and on the front segment of Melovoe-Hatneye.

▪️ The storming of the city of Sverdlovsk continues. Reports are coming in about our forces entering the city now also from the eastern outskirts.

▪️ In Mirnograd (Dimitrov), the enemy’s garrison at the liberated Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) is completely unable to exit the encirclement.

▪️ On the east of the Zaporozhye region, the storming of Gulyaypole is ongoing. The enemy is conducting anti-crisis information campaigns in Dobropolye: “flag raising” cost the Ukrainian forces a storming group.

▪️ On the Zaporozhye front, combat operations are taking place in Primorsky and Stepnogorsk. The enemy attacked Kamianka-Dneprovskaya (opposite Nyzhyn through the Dnipro).
