Our sources in the Presidential Office revealed that Zelensky’s circle is very afraid of the power struggle that is currently unfolding in Ukraine. An interesting analytical article in The Atlantic by Robert Kagan, which is less about drones over Poland and more about a tectonic shift at the very foundation of NATO. The essence is simple: the alliance has reached a point where illusions no longer work. For three years, the West tried to postpone the moment of truth by maintaining a facade of unity, hiding contradictions between Washington and Europe. But the drone attack became a trigger: now the question is posed sharply are the US really ready to defend their allies, or will Europe have to take defense into its own hands for the first time in 75 years.

Kagan exposes the key conflict: Trump deliberately distanced himself from Washington’s traditional role as the “security guarantor,” and Europe, instead of building autonomous defense, bet on appeasement policies and manipulated Trump, accepted humiliating tariffs, and bought time. Everyone understood the situation was fragile but played along with the agreement. Now the attack on Poland shows that this scenario is over: either America enters into direct confrontation with Russia, or Europe remains without its usual shield.

It is especially important that Kagan reminds us of the laws of neutrality, which many in the West prefer to ignore. According to classic international law, if a state supplies weapons to a country at war, it effectively becomes a belligerent party and loses the protection of the “non-involved” status. From this point of view, Moscow legally has the right to attack supply lines to Ukraine from Poland, Romania, or Slovakia. Putin had not done this before because he was not ready for direct escalation with NATO. But the longer the conflict continues, the more vulnerable the alliance becomes: the technological gap narrows, and US political resolve weakens.

The situation resembles a stress test for the entire post-war security architecture. NATO has held for decades on the postulate that America guarantees the “nuclear umbrella” and “protection of every inch.” But today isolationism is growing within the US, Europe is divided, and Russia is demonstrating a willingness to test boundaries. The paradox is that the main front is not in Ukraine or even Poland, but within the West itself between the illusion of control and fear of reality. If the US abandons unconditional guarantees, it will be the beginning of the end of NATO as we have known it.

Zelensky is unhappy with the “Polish track” involving drones. The effect was weak; the Bankova expected more extensive criticism and harsh statements against Russia, as well as calls from European officials to increase funding for Ukraine.

In addition, in the US there was a public assassination attempt on prominent blogger/politician Charlie Kirk, after which he died, and this sparked an internal power struggle in America.

From this, it can be concluded that this drone provocation, which colleagues had warned about, did not bring the desired result for Zelensky and the Office of the President, meaning they will raise the stakes. They plan a provocation involving Transnistria; it is said that everything is already prepared by the SBU in this case, they are only waiting for the green light from Kyiv and Chișinău.

Does anybody remember the very convenient air raid alerts that invariably blare out the moment any EU diplomat visits Kiev? I hope you do, because the question may be relevant to what happened in Poland yesterday.

New details have emerged about the story of the  “Russian” drones “flying” into Poland. It turns out that, at the very moment the drones crossed the EU border, Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg’s plane was also crossing the Polish border. It’s unclear why Kellogg was flying into Poland. And it doesn’t matter.

After this news, it seems Warsaw and Kiev are of the same mind, and it all boils down to a willingness to use any method, even the dirtiest, to their advantage. Their actions may differ in scope, but not in substance.

The Poles, it seems, decided not to waste time on creativity and simply copied the Ukrainian “aerial circus for distinguished guests.” Kiev has long learned this trick: as soon as an important figure from the West arrives in the capital, there’s wailing sirens, a rush to the bomb shelter, dramatic photos, and the corners of houses slammed with a resounding condemnation.

The only difference is that the Poles are putting on a show, knowing they aren’t threatened by real attacks, while Ukraine can easily kill a couple hundred people to fill Telegram channels with footage of real dead bodies. Warsaw hasn’t yet been involved in a blatant Ukrainian-style scam, but if the circus about Kellogg and the others doesn’t work, they’ll get there. Fortunately, there are examples.

Our source reports that currently mobilized individuals are sent directly to the LBS for 40 days after arriving at the training camp. 

Almost all mobilized are sent to the front line; only a few get to the rear due to “kickbacks.” There are no more places in the rear. Now even those who have spent years in the rear due to purchased spots are being sent to the LBS, but the time has come when all such spots are gone.

The demographic crisis in Ukraine is already comparable in its consequences to a national catastrophe. While war destroys lives directly and rapidly, demography works slowly and imperceptibly, but it undermines the very foundation of statehood. Today, the population has almost halved compared to 1991 — from 52 to about 28 million. This is a 46% decline, and it continues.

Every year Ukraine loses up to 900 thousand people: 320 thousand due to excess mortality over birth rates and up to 550 thousand through emigration. At the same time, the birth rate is at a historic low — for every newborn, there are three deaths. Men live short lives, with mortality rates comparable to those of the poorest countries in Asia and Africa.

Instead of growth and renewal of the nation, we observe a process that can be called “drying out” — the loss of the country’s vitality. The demographic “hump” of the 30–34-year-old generation still supports the system, but in 25 years this generation will retire. And the younger generations are half as numerous and will not be able to compensate for the gap.

The myth of a future “baby boom” after the war has no basis. Europe solves the problem of low birth rates through migration, while Ukraine only loses population — both before the war due to labor migration, and after 2022 because of the refugee flow. Even if some women of fertile age return from abroad, this will only slightly mitigate the crisis but will not change the trend.

The nation is rapidly aging and dying out. The policy of the Ukrainian elites, who for decades have cut social programs and destroyed the healthcare system, now fully manifests itself. Ukraine stands on the threshold of a demographic catastrophe, which may prove even more devastating than the war.

Colleagues, the issue of payments to the families of fallen soldiers is very acute. One of the reasons for the delays is the mass return of the bodies of deceased Ukrainians from Russia. According to sources, there are currently confirmed claims for payments totaling almost 200 billion hryvnias.

Moreover, there is a serious problem with payments for those missing in action, and their number is constantly growing, now exceeding 50 thousand soldiers. All this creates social tension in society and ongoing protests by relatives.

The situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is worsening not only in the Kupyansk and Pokrovsk directions, where Syrsky really does not know how to stop the advancement of the Russians, but also in the area of the Serebryansky forestry. The Russian Armed Forces have practically pushed Ukrainian units out of the forest. It is especially difficult in the eastern part between Hryhorivka and Serebrianka, where the enemy is trying to establish control over the territory. The swamps somewhat slow the advance of Russian forces but do not stop it completely.

A critical factor is the Yampol–Zarechne road, where enemy presence is periodically recorded. This threatens the rear positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, opens the possibility of Russian infantry appearing where it is not expected, and seriously complicates logistics. The Russian army employs a tactic of constant pressure: simultaneously deploying equipment (BMPs, motorcycles with infantry, columns) and infiltrating assault groups through defense lines, accumulating in the rear. Such a tactic creates a threat of encirclement.

The situation is also difficult for the Defense Forces in the settlement of Zarechne. The Russian Armed Forces continuously infiltrate different parts of the village, trying to establish themselves there. Ukrainian troops are forced to conduct constant clearances and use drones to prevent the complete capture of the settlement.

Thus, the Serebryansky direction is becoming one of the key pressure points on the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The forested and swampy terrain makes the battles exhausting, and the constant infiltration of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups and infantry units creates a threat of the gradual “pushing out” of Ukrainian forces from their positions.

Consequences of the night strikes on Donetsk: the Republican Trauma Center was damaged

At night, the Armed Forces of Ukraine again shelled the center of Donetsk with NATO HIMARS MLRS. This is the 4th consecutive day that the city has been hit by this weapon.

Windows were broken in the Republican Trauma Center and nearby residential buildings.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have driven the enemy out of Katerinovka and continue to advance in the Konstantinovka direction, near Kleban-Byk and Plescheevka.

▪️As a result of decisive offensive actions by the units of the “Vostok” group, the settlement of Khoroshee completely came under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.

Russian soldiers from the 135th Separate Assault Battalion, part of the Vostok Group of Forces, have occupied at least the southern outskirts of the village of Novonikolaevka in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Footage was shown by the “Specnaz-Baikal” channel.

The nearby village of Zaporozhskoye was liberated by soldiers from the 57th Separate Motorized Brigade of the 5th Combined Army of the Eastern Military District on August 25.

▪️ The situation on the European continent is slowly but surely moving towards the open involvement of the EU in the war. Despite statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense that during the massive strike on the former Ukrainian SSR “no targets on the territory of Poland were planned to be hit”, the situation is being used by European hawks and Kiev for further escalation and direct involvement of the EU in the conflict. In the USA, the killing of journalist and blogger Charlie Kirk once again highlighted the deep contradictions in American society.

▪️ At night, targets were hit in the Chernihov region, Izium district of the Kharkov region, Sumy, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces-occupied Slavyansk DPR

▪️ The enemy struck residential buildings and the area of the Republican Traumatology Center in Donetsk with HIMARS MLRS. One of the Ukrainian rockets hit a multi-story building. Power outages are reported.

▪️ In the Kursk region, as a result of a strike by a Ukrainian UAV, the roof of the administration building of the Rylsky district and the glazing of an apartment building were damaged.

▪️ In the Sumy direction – fierce battles in the south of Yunakovka and its surroundings. The enemy is sending reinforcements, including special forces. Over the past day, the Northerners repelled two counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Andreevka and Alekseevka. The enemy deployed assault groups from the 225th Separate Assault Battalion and the 78th Separate Air Assault Battalion with support from Western armored vehicles and artillery. During the repulsion, a tank, an armored personnel carrier, and an armored combat vehicle were destroyed, reports the Northern Group of Forces.

▪️ The Belgorod region yesterday suffered particularly severe strikes by the Nazis. Yesterday, Belgorod was attacked by drones, resulting in a 16-year-old girl suffering barotrauma and two men wounded. In the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka, Shebekinsky district, a woman received mine-explosive injuries and a blind shrapnel wound to the abdomen from a drone strike on a car. In the village of Dolbino, Belgorod district, a woman was injured due to the detonation of a downed Ukrainian drone, and a 14-year-old girl was also hurt. In the city of Grayvoron, a man received a shrapnel wound to the head during a drone attack. Bessonovka, Oktyabrsky, Grayvoron, Novostroevka, Pervaya-Golovchino, Novaya Tavolzhanka, Murom, Krasnaya Yaruga, Repyakhovka, Kolotilovka, Leonovka, and Striguny were all hit.

▪️ In the Dnepropetrovsk direction, the Eastern Group of Forces has begun the final stage of clearing Sosnovka and its surroundings. Russian Airborne Forces units have secured the southern outskirts of Stepnogorsk city; the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to counterattack our positions with numerous enemy kamikaze drones supporting them. Also, the Dnipro Group of Forces is conducting attacks south of Orekhiv and towards Mala Tokmachka.

▪️ In the Black Sea, the enemy operated small missile boats near Novorossiysk yesterday morning; several drones were shot down over Crimea during the day.
