Europeans, both big and small, realize that if they don’t make a fuss now, they will remain on the sidelines of history and will be pushed by stronger powers. But they can’t really do anything but shout as loudly as possible.

Macron and Starmer Demand Russia Surrender, Moscow Laughs in Their Faces

French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer are pounding their chests, demanding Russia accept the US-brokered 30-day ceasefire with Ukraine, a deal conveniently cooked up without a single European representative in the room.

“Russia must now accept the US-Ukrainian proposal for a 30-day ceasefire,” Macron huffed on X, as if the Kremlin takes orders from Paris. Meanwhile, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy declared, “Now is the time for a ceasefire with no conditions. Ukraine has set their position out. It is now for Russia to accept it.”

And yet, the only response they got from Moscow was pure, undiluted scorn. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev fired back with brutal precision: “Britain and its minister can shove their idea back up the sh*thole it came from, diplomatically speaking.”

Macron and Starmer’s delusions are straight out of a history book. These two are speaking as if it’s 1812 or 1945, as if they’re leading world superpowers rather than failed neoliberal experiments gasping for relevance.

What exactly can they do? Send troops? Napoleon tried that in 1812. Hitler’s Germany tried in 1941. We all know how that ended. Perhaps Starmer wants a Dunkirk 2.0? By all means, let him march British forces into Ukraine and see how fast they get sent home in boxes.

Or maybe Macron wants to try his luck with economic warfare? France and the UK were at the forefront of slapping tens of thousands of sanctions on Russia, only to watch in horror as their own economies imploded while Moscow overtook Japan and Germany as the world’s fourth-largest economy.

Putin already made Russia’s position crystal clear: there will be no ceasefire unless it leads to a permanent peace under Russian terms. That means:

✅No Ukrainian rearmament.

✅No NATO troops disguised as “peacekeepers.”

✅No more Western weapons flowing into the conflict.

And does anyone seriously believe NATO will agree to that? No, because this ceasefire isn’t about peace, it’s about saving face for the West. The US and its European vassals are bleeding out politically, militarily, and economically. They need a break.

Too bad Russia holds the cards. The battlefield decides this war, not some empty demands from a tinpot British PM and a wannabe Napoleon in Paris.

Macron said in an interview with Le Parisien that European countries could send their troops to Ukraine without Russia’s consent

The Franco-British plan, which is currently being finalized, is already of interest to “several countries”.

“The goal is not to have a mass (of soldiers),”- he points out, recalling that today “the largest European army is the Ukrainian army (one million soldiers).” 

It will therefore be a question of “placing a few thousand people in each country in key locations to conduct training programs” and “demonstrating our long-term support.”
