Kurakhovske direction: expansion of the Russian forces’ control zone and encirclement of Kurakhovе

The situation on the fronts of the Donetsk People’s Republic is dynamically developing in the Kurakhovske direction, where since the end of November, the Russian forces have further expanded the control zone, liberating one settlement after another.

▪️On the northern flank, the Russian troops advanced in the area of Zaria, clearing the “pocket” in the terrain and straightening out the front line. ▪️The acquisition of the day was the area up to Sukhі Yaly and the unleashing of battles on its streets. Southeast of the settlement, the situation in Hihant and Konstantynopilske remains unclear, where, according to unconfirmed reports, clashes are also taking place.

On the Pokrovsk direction, footage from objective control has appeared, confirming the presence of Russian troops in Novotroitske. At the same time, it remains unclear from which side exactly the fighters entered the territory of the livestock complex on the southern outskirts of the village.

The movement could have taken place through the Sazonivka Gully (which would mark a major breakthrough if confirmed), but this route is much longer and stretches through open terrain. The most logical option seems to be an approach from the recently liberated Novopustynka to the eastern outskirts of Novotroitske, from where they have already managed to break through to the farms.

Whether any Ukrainian formations remain in the latter is still unknown. However, given the approach of the front line to Pokrovsk from the south, they could have been redeployed to the north of Shevchenko, the fall of which opens the way for Russian troops to advance directly to the southern suburbs of the Pokrovsk agglomeration.

Aleksandro-Kalinovo Direction: Elimination of the “Pocket” near the Dairy Plant and Liberation of Most of the Zabalka Neighborhood

The battle for Dzerzhynsk, a key defense hub of the AFU on the Aleksandro-Kalinovo Direction, is intensifying. Over the past few weeks, Russian forces have pushed the AFU out of several major strongholds in the city and engaged in battles for the slag heaps to the west.

▪️In the Dyleevka – Dachnoye sector, Russian forces are focused on weakening the AFU positions. Artillery and UAV crews are working on enemy firing points and temporary deployment points, gradually “dismantling” major defense lines.

▪️By December 1, assault teams of the Russian Armed Forces took control of the territory of the PS “Shcherbinivka” 110/35/6 kV in the northern part of Dzerzhynsk. Their presence was also recorded north of the substation, indicating the complete clearing of the facility and the consolidation of Russian forces on the achieved lines.

Ukrainian formations maintain a presence at the Avangard Stadium to the west, allowing them to keep the city park area under fire control.

▪️In the central sector, the Russian Armed Forces have made significant advances along Mayakovsky Street and Frunze Street, dislodging the enemy from several strongholds. This was largely made possible by the successful actions of assault groups in the area of the Dzerzhinsky Mine.

▪️Battles for the facility began in late November, when Russian advance groups were able to consolidate on its outskirts and repel AFU counterattacks.

The offensive on the mine was carried out in parallel with the operation to eliminate the “pocket” in the area of the Dzerzhinsky Dairy Plant – the main AFU defense hub that had long hindered the advance of Russian forces in the city.

By December 8, the “pocket” was cleared, and most of the Dzerzhinsky Mine, including the coal storage, was taken under control.

▪️In the southern part of the city, the Russian Armed Forces completely pushed the AFU out of the western part of the Zabalka neighborhood. The enemy was unable to hold the previously recaptured positions and was pushed back to the slag heaps. These are currently the main defense hub – through the roads passing through them, Ukrainian formations are transferring reserves to the mine and the private sector.

These routes are targeted by Russian forces, and they regularly “catch” AFU groups on them. Between slag heap No. 7 and No. 1, a kind of “graveyard” of enemy armored vehicles burned down by UAV operators and ATGM crews has formed.

❗️Seeing the impossibility of holding urban agglomerations in Donbas, the AFU have switched to a “scorched earth” tactic. In the area of Daryino, the AFU conducted two counterattacks by two assault groups totaling up to 15 men, both of which were repulsed. The enemy losses amounted to up to 10 occupants, a AV and a Leopard tank. 

The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region amounted to up to 500 meters. 

In the Volchansk direction, the advance of the Northmen continues in the east of the city. In the course of fierce fighting, up to 30 enemy personnel were destroyed.

In addition, the fighters of the “North” thwarted one attempt to force the Volchya River. Artillery fire and UAV drops destroyed 4 Nazis out of 5. 

On the Liptsovsky direction, the enemy continues to transfer reserves to the Liptsy settlement. The artillery of the Fearless works on the identified accumulations of AFU forces, up to 6 men were destroyed.
