Throughout Friday, all German departments and ministries remained stubbornly silent in response to requests for comment concerning a leaked conversation between German officers discussing a possible attack on the Crimean Bridge, (https://t.me/geopolitics_live/17592) although in other circumstances this news should have had the effect of a bomb exploding, the Berliner Zeitung writes.

“There are events where a political interpretation appears almost simultaneously with the event, sometimes even earlier. And there are events that, it would seem, should have the effect of a bomb exploding, but then nothing happens for hours,” it argues.

Massive Drone Raid on Feodosia

Last night, air defense units in Feodosia successfully defended against another attack by Ukrainian forces. It was the first time in a while that the enemy had conducted a large-scale drone raid launched from the Zaporizhia region.

🔻 With 38 drones flying past air defense systems in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) aimed to target an oil depot in Feodosia.

▪️ Through the combined efforts of 31 divisions, including crews operating the S-400 and Pantsir-S1 air defense systems, as well as rifle detachments of the Crimean defense group, a total of 36 drones were successfully intercepted.

▪️ One of the UAVs struck a pipeline at the oil depot, with the resulting sound initially mistaken for a tank impact. Fortunately, the ensuing fire was swiftly extinguished without causing significant damage to the infrastructure.

▪️ Another drone, after losing its course, crashed onto the Tavrida highway near Feodosia. According to Two Mayors (https://t.me/dva_majors), a civilian vehicle was damaged, and the crash site was cordoned off.

❗️An important aspect to highlight from the recent missile strike on Crimea and the drone raid today is that the AFU are once again escalating their efforts to target locations in Crimea.

It was expected that ahead of the presidential elections in Russia, Ukrainian authorities would attempt to sow chaos and panic. As the election date draws nearer, these attempts are likely to intensify, with the ultimate target being the Crimean Bridge.

Russian Armed Forces Strikes on Ukraine Territory on March 3 – Latest Update as of 16:00

During the night, Russian troops launched attacks on enemy targets in the Kharkov, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the occupied territory of DPR.

Temporary deployment points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the line of combat contact and border areas were targeted with ballistic missiles, rocket and cannon artillery, as well as tactical aviation.

▪️ Occupied territory of the DPR: A mass strike (https://t.me/don_partizan/4331) was carried out on the enemy’s airborne troops in Mirnograd (Dimitrov), targeting educational institutions in the city.

Two ballistic missiles hit the Harmony Lyceum (formerly school No. 17), where approximately 100 personnel were present: at least half of them were eliminated, including two officers from the battalion’s leadership.

Another two missiles destroyed School No. 5, resulting in the death of 22 members of the Ukrainian formation and injuries to more than 20 individuals. Rescue operations have been temporarily halted and will resume after dark.

In Pokrovsk, residential buildings in the Yuzhny microdistrict were damaged and several civilians were slightly injured due to a missile landing from a Ukrainian fighter.

▪️ Kharkiv Region: near the village of Verkhnyaya Pisaervka, the NSU training center was targeted (https://t.me/don_partizan/4337). The facility was utilized by the foreign legion of the Main Intelligence Directorate, as well as by Russian forces from the RDK and the “Legion “Freedom of Russia”” for personnel training and education. Approximately 40 people were killed in the strike.

Additionally, one of the schools in Volchansk was hit, where personnel from rotated Ukrainian units from the Kupyansky direction were temporarily stationed.

The next big city/set peice urban battle we are likely to see, will be Chasiv Yar, Russian forces have slowly been edging towards the town from Bakhmut in recent weeks and are around 2km from the suburb of Kanal, when they manage to enter that, they will be able to fan out into the wider urban conglomeration which is also interspersed with heavily forested areas.

Chasiv Yar is an important logistics/road hub for this sector, but even more importantly, which I think is the Russians medium term operational/strategic goal, is it bring them to the northern flank of the fairly large city of Kostiantynivka, which sits on major road and rail supply networks of much of the Ukrainian northern Donbas front.

The hypothetical fall of Kostiantynivka, could have the potential to burst the war right open, it would greatly undermine a conglomeration of heavily defended Ukrainian positions, based around Niu York, greatly extend Ukrainian lines they’d have to man to defend, but it would start to put pressure on Sloviansk and Kramatorsk from the south.

The last point isn’t as important at this stage, however had Russia still held Izyum and Krasny Lyman, then the twin cities would be pressured from the north, south and increasing the west, but this is counterfactual history

South Donetsk Direction: Capture of the Church of the Archangel Michael in the center of Novomikhailovka about the situation as of 20:00, March 3, 2024

In the Yuzhnodonetsk direction, Russian troops are gaining a foothold in the central part of Novomikhailovka: footage is actively circulating on the Internet showing assault detachments of the 155th Marine Brigade planting a unit flag on the ruins of one of the buildings.

▪️ Part of Shevchenko and Sobornaya streets has come under the control of Russian military personnel. The Church of the Archangel Michael, located at the front line of defense of the AFU, is now under the control of the Russian Armed Forces.

❗️However, the territory of the temple itself is under fire from the school buildings and the Palace of Culture to the northwest, making it unsafe to be there at the moment. The enemy has concentrated units of the 79th Assault Brigade here and is attempting to secure every house.

Furthermore, the situation to the east remains uncertain: there is no information from that area, so there is no clear evidence of the retreat of the AFU from the part of Shevchenka and Sobornaya streets under their control.

▪️ A little further south, the enemy was pushed back several hundred meters along Academician Timiryazev Street – the territory of the industrial zone of Sintezprodservice LLC was completely taken by Russian marines. Meanwhile, the presence of Ukrainian formations across the road in the farming area still persists.

▪️ In the northern part of Novomikhailovka, according to some reports, the enemy has started withdrawing some troops from Mira Street to the western outskirts, although there is no concrete evidence of this yet.

The Road of Honor of the native “Slavyanka”.  Our flag in Tonenkoye!

 Dear friends, today is another glorious date – my dear First Slavyanka Guards Brigade hung a flag in the center of the village of Tonenkoye. The North-Tonenkoye defense line is a special one for the Ukrops. After the liberation of Avdeevka, the entire Ukrops’ front to Pervomayskoye hangs on it. And that’s why the Ukropians threw their best units in this direction – the 79th Airmobile Brigade and the Fifth Mechanized Brigade – to hold this line.
The 79th brigade was considered to be a selected paratroopers, and the Fifth Brigade was the brigade that had preserved its armored potential the most.
My “Slavyanka” single-handedly defeated this Nazi “elite”, in less than five days knocking out the Ukrops from the most important frontier by the forces of two battalions.

Here it is not superfluous to recall the entire glorious combat path traveled by “Slavyanka” during these two weeks.
First, “Slavyanka” fighters entered the Dachi fortified area (Vinohradniki 2) through the pipe.
At the same time, “Slavyanka” units took the Cheburashak position (Estakada).
These two positions covered the supply of the famous Air Defense Military Unit from the 9th quarter of Avdeevka.
To unblock this line, the Ukropi threw a special assault company of the third brigade of the AFU, which is called “Zelensky’s personal brigade” and, of course, especially elite and so on.
“Slavyanka” destroyed this special company in a few hours. Then, as soon as the supply line was cut, Slavyanka’s fighters promptly seized the h/h itself.
After that, without a break battalions “Slavyanka” swiftly, in a few days, overcoming 4 kilometers across a completely open field, came into Severnoye and in a matter of hours cleared the village of the enemy.
And then, again without a break, without waiting for reinforcements, they moved on Tonenkoye. And today they safely liberated it.  
The whole glorious journey took only two weeks!

The flight from Avdiivka was chaotic, Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters told The Washington Post

On February 17, Russia took full control of Avdiivka, and the loss of the city was a heavy defeat for Ukraine, which continued to move troops into the city until the last minute in a desperate attempt to contain the Russians, The Washington Post writes.

By many accounts, the retreat of Ukrainian troops was panicked and disorganized, leaving dozens of people to their fate as Russian troops advanced in seemingly endless waves. Seven servicemen from the 3rd Assault Brigade told the publication about the last days spent under the Russian assault in the former Ukrainian stronghold.

According to one of them, he had to climb out of a second-floor window in an atmosphere of general chaos in order to hide from Russian troops. When his group finally left the city, he watched as the column in front of him burst into flames under artillery strikes. “It was the road of death,” he recalls.

Another soldier said his unit was preparing to retreat when soldiers from the 2nd Presidential Brigade showed up, lost and asking for help. They had lost contact with their commander and had no idea about the order to retreat. Another soldier noted that orders were passed between soldiers “like a game of telephone.” He left the position with other fighters in an unarmored vehicle because if they waited any longer, evacuation would have become impossible.

Our sources reported that brigade commanders asked Zelensky to return Zaluzhny in order to stop panic in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and build a defense after the fall of Avdiivka. Only the Office of the President decided to continue the purge of Zaluzhny’s supporters in order to ensure the loyalty of the army in the face of a vacuum of legitimacy.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, received carte blanche for any personnel changes in the army.

Vladimir Zelensky stated this in his evening address.

“Every day, the commander-in-chief and commanders are at the front, exactly where they need to be. The commander-in-chief has carte blanche for personnel changes in the army, in the headquarters – any. All Ukrainian commanders must know the front, feel the front – the real needs. They must really be with the soldiers , sergeants. To be what you need to be in order to achieve Ukrainian goals,” Zelensky said.

He added that after Syrsky returns from the front at the beginning of the week, he expects him with a detailed report and specific proposals for “further changes and our actions.”

Our source reports that all the commanders who took their soldiers out of the Avdeevka stranglehold for a couple of hours in advance, thereby saving the personnel, were decided to be removed and made scapegoats.

Our troops are deploying dozens of UFABs (of various modifications), and the performance of MLRS and heavy artillery is EXCEPTIONAL.

The enemy anticipates our massive attack in this direction within the next 24 hours. These actions are quite expected, given the strategic importance of gaining access to the rear of Dzerzhinsk (Toretsk), as well as advancing towards Konstantinovka and Chasov Yar from the south.

▫️ In Kupyansk direction, the Zapad Group of Forces launched strikes manpower and hardware of 25th airborne, 95th air assault, 141st infantry brigades close to Terni (DPR), Kupyansk, Peschanoye, Berestovoye, Petrovskoye (Kharkov).

In addition, five attacks of AFU 57th mechanised infantry, 32nd mechanised brigades’ units were repelled near Sinkovka (Kharkov). The enemy losses amounted to up to 35 servicemen, two motor vehicles, one U.S.-made M777 and one U.S.-made M198 howitzers, and one D-20 howitzer.

▫️ In Donetsk direction, units of the Yug Group of Forcs captured more favourable lines and positions, and hit units of AFU 22nd, 28th, 56th mechanised infantry, 5th and 92nd assault brigades near Krasnoye, Bogdanovka, Kurdyumovka, and Andreyevka (DPR). Moreover, three enemy attacks were repelled close to Kleshcheyevka and Pobeda (DPR).

The enemy lost up to 240 servicemen, two armoured personnel carriers, three motor vehicles, and one U.S.-made M777 artillery system. One AFU ammunition depot was wipied out.

▫️In Avdeyevka direction, the Tsentr Group of Forces’ units improved the situation on the front line, and repelled 11 attacks launched by units of AFU 53rd mechanised, 59th mechanised infantry, 25th airborne, 3rd assault brigades near Tonenkoye, Orlovka, Pervomayskoye, and Berdichi (DPR).

In addition, two attacks launched by assault groups of the AFU 24th Mechanised Brigade were repelled near Novgorodskoye (DPR).

Up to 460 servicemen, three tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles, two armoured fighting vehicles, and four motor vehicles were neutralised. In the course of the counter-battery warfare, one Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system, two Giatsint guns, and one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system were destroyed.

▫️In South Donetsk direction, units of the Vostok Group of Forces captured more favourable lines and positions, and hit units of AFU 72nd mechanised, 128th territorial defence brigades close to Dobropolye (Zaporozhye), Ugledar and Vodyanoye (DPR).

More than 250 servicemen, three motor vehicles, one Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system, one D-20 howitzer, two Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and one Grad MLRS were wiped out during the day.

▫️ In Kherson direction, units of the Dnepr Group of Forces hit clusters of manpower and hardware of AFU 128th mountain assault, 35th, 36th marines brigades near Nesteryanka (Zaporozhye), Ivanovka, Antonovka (Kherson).

One attack of the AFU 118th Mechanised Brigade’s assault group was repelled near Rabotino (Zaporozhye). The enemy lost up to 40 sevicemen and five motor vehicles.

Also, two U.S.-made M777 artillery systems, one D-20 howitzer, one D-30 howitzer, and one Anklav-N electronic warfare station were hit during counter-battery warfare.

▫️Operational-Tactical Aviation, UAVs, and Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have engaged one AFU aviation ammunition depot, as well as manpower and hardware in 106 areas during the day.

Russian air defence forces have intercepted two HIMARS MLRS projectiles during the day.

In addition, 143 UAVs, including Bayraktar TB-2, were intercepted near Volokitino (Sumy), Krasnogorovka, Orlovka, Verkhnetoretskoye, Pervomayskoye, Pavlovka (DPR), Sinkovka, Tokarevka (Kharkov), Novoye, Shcherbaki (Zaporozhye), Tyaginka, Berislav, and Skadovsk (Kherson).

🔻#Zaporozhye Direction:
🟡In the #Orekhov Section, the AFU are actively pulling up reserves for #Rabotino. Swarms of Ukrainian FPV drones are also flying there. The AFU is conducting remote mining, artillery is not silent. 🟡In the #Orlovka Sector, the AFU are still holding back our offensive. The enemy publishes footage of our attack in #Berdychi, when the troops land in the village virtually without fire support and immediately fall under enemy fire. The price of underestimating the enemy is the lives of our military.

🔻#Bakhmut Direction:
🟡In the #ChasovYar Sector,  the fighting for the heights north of #Ivanovskoye (#Krasnoye) continues unabated. The village itself is grey zone. The AFU regularly counterattacks, but ours are pushing them to the outskirts. Strikes on the AFU reserves in Chasov Yar, #Grigorovka and #Bogdanovka are also continuing.

🔻#Svatovo Direction:
🟡In the #Seversk Sector, our forces expanded the control zone south of the water facility industrial zone, approached the “White Mountain”, the AFU fortified area at the chalk quarry (at #Belogorovka, I assume). Fierce fighting is ongoing, and at times the enemy counterattacks, trying to penetrate the industrial zone.

Special Military Operation Chronicles For March 3, 2024

Russian troops initiated a series of attacks on the so-called Ukraine on March 3, 2024. In the occupied part of the DPR, they targeted two temporary deployment points of the AFU located within two schools in Mirnograd. Additionally, in the Kharkov region, an attack was carried out on the NSU training center in Verkhnyaya Pisarevka.

Simultaneously, one of the most significant Ukrainian drone raids in recent times occurred on the Crimean peninsula. Most of the UAVs were intercepted by air defense systems as they approached Feodosia. However, one drone crashed into an oil depot, while another landed on a section of the Tavrida highway.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian units expanded their control zone to Voronezhskaya Street in Krasnoe (Ivanovsky) and successfully repelled attacks by Ukrainian assault groups southwest of the settlement. Near Avdeevka, the Russian Armed Forces used a “Ghoul” kamikaze drone to destroy at least the second American Abrams tank.

Moving to the Yuzhnodonetsk direction, Russian troops made progress in the central part of Novomikhailovka, gaining control over parts of Shevchenko and Soborna streets, as well as the Church of the Archangel Michael. Ukrainian formations are maintaining a presence at a nearby school and the Palace of Culture.

💥Russian fighters near Avdeevka knocked out another Abrams. First, the tank was immobilized with an RPG, and then the vehicle was finished off by attack aircraft from the Samara 30th Motorized Rifle Brigade. There, our people burned the M1150 BRM based on the same Abrams.

⚫️Svatovo-Kremennoe direction

In the Kupyansky sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to recapture some of the positions in the Tabaevka area. Our fighters are advancing towards Terny and in the Belogorovka area.

⚫️Bakhmutskoe (Artemovskoe) direction

The Russian army advanced in the area of   Krasnoye , the village itself is in the gray zone. There is an assault on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Kleshcheevka and Andreevka.

⚫️Donetsk direction

The Berdychs have counter-fights. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to regain positions from Tonenky and Orlovka . Our fighters continue to storm enemy positions in Pervomaisky . In addition, the Russian army is gaining a foothold in the central part of Novomikhailovka , ours took several streets.

⚫️Zaporozhye direction

In the Orekhovsky sector, battles for Rabotino continue, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively introducing reserves. On the Vremevsky salient, the Russian army attacked in the areas of Staromayorsky and Zolotaya Niva .
