Congress Dems Vote in Favor of Illegals Doing Social Security Fraud and DUI’s

Who says congress doesn’t act on any bills? The Dems were busy bees securing their progressive votes for the fall election. One wonders how can anyone think fraud and drunk drivers make for good potential citizens? Apparently 150 in one case and 155 Democrats in a other vote. How does this help any of their constituents?

Over 150 Democrats Opposed a Bill Allowing the Deportation of Non-Citizens who Commit Social Security Fraud

The majority of U.S. House Democrats opposed a bill that would prevent foreign nationals who have committed Social Security or identity fraud from entering the country, and allow those already in the country to be deported.“

“With the seriousness of the crime and the potential deadly consequences, you would think that if an illegal immigrant was caught driving under the influence, they would be deported and barred from reentering the country – unfortunately, however, that is not always the case,” Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) wrote in a Thursday note previewing the bill.

H.R. 6976: Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act

To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide that aliens who have been convicted of or who have committed an offense for driving while intoxicated or impaired are inadmissible and deportable.

This bill makes driving while intoxicated or impaired a ground for (1) barring a non-U.S. national (alien under federal law) from admission into the United States, or (2) deporting the individual.

The bar to admission shall apply to an individual who has been convicted of the offense or has admitted to having committed the acts which constitute the elements of the offense. As a ground for deportability, the individual must have been convicted of the offense.

To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to provide that aliens who have been convicted of or who have committed Social Security fraud are inadmissible and deportable.

Blll Passed 272 to 155. Yes, 155 folks were against this.

The bill was passed in a vote in the House. It goes to the Senate next. January 31, 2024
