Migrants Sleeping Outside in Overrun Colorado Town; Temps Drop, Fear Is People Will Die

The simple reality is that the U.S. can not absorb the numbers of low skilled, low educated, non English speaking illegals that Mayorkas is flooding into the U.S. We see and hear of the large cities trying to deal with the influx of migrants. But the problem isn’t just with the cities. As the migrants fan out from the larger cities often because their “benefits” have run out, the burden is being placed on smaller towns and municipalities to cope with the problem. There simply is no housing for 15 million more people. Thousands more by the day. The big cities have no more room.

Now with winter setting in, those who found themselves in the northern regions are at risk of actually dying. That brings us to Carbondale, Colorado.

The Town of Carbondale is a home rule municipality located in Garfield County, Colorado, United States.^[1] The town population was 6,434 at the 2020 United States Census.^[4] Carbondale is a part of the Glenwood Springs, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Breitbart gives us the latest:

On Tuesday’s broadcast of NPR’s “Morning Edition,” Aspen Public Radio Reporter Halle Zander reported on the town of Carbondale, Colorado, where a surge of migrants has overwhelmed local resources and forced migrants to sleep outside as temperatures drop.

Zander reported on a migrant from Venezuela who went to Carbondale and “joined a group of about 125 migrants, mostly from Venezuela, who were living under a bridge at the entrance to the small town. She’s hopeful she can find stable housing nearby with her girlfriend and her girlfriend’s kids.”

But “Carbondale doesn’t have many services to support unhoused people. A portion of the local community center is sheltering 60 people, but has had to turn others away almost every night due to lack of capacity. So, many are still sleeping outside in cars and tents. And with temperatures in Colorado’s high country getting much colder…”

So what about Carbondale Colorado?

Located 170 miles west of Denver and 30 miles from Aspen in the heart of Colorado’s central Rocky Mountains, the picturesque town of Carbondale was first occupied by the Ute Indians, then by silver prospectors, cattle ranchers, and potato farmers. With a strong arts and music community, the town embraces its mining, ranching, skiing, and resort identities, and has also become an attractive place for sustainable businesses.

Touted as one of the “Top 12 Towns” in the “50 Next Great Places to Live and Play” by National Geographic Adventure magazine, and as one of the “50 Best Places to Live/Most Active Towns” by Men’s Journal magazine, Carbondale is a great base camp for recreation enthusiasts.

Mount Sopris, south of the town, looms close by.

One wonders how they got their driver licenses and apparently transportation.

As the cold winter sets in, whether Chicago or New York City and as we can see now in rural America, the piper will be paid by someone. Biden, Mayorkas and the Democrats have done these migrants no favor.
