There are several places in Stockton, CA that are haunted. One of the most notable investigations that I have done in Stockton, is a house that is known as “the Most Haunted House in Stockton” and you can watch the video here:

Today 3/22/2025, Wish Fire – Psychic Medium and me, decided to go to 5 haunted locations in Stockton, CA that we have never been to before. We will talk to some people and conduct some basic paranormal investigating using only a camera and digital recorder for various EVP sessions.

East Eight Mile Road
On the long, paved border between Stockton & Lodi that stretches past Elkhorn Golf Club and Oak Grove Regional Park, Eight Mile Road can get a bit spooky. East Eight Mile Road reminds me of the haunted roadway known as Dyer Lane in Sacramento. Just like Dyer Lane this road has its own legends. Some ghost hunting enthusiasts have seen the mysterious Woman in White. The Woman in White is wearing an elegant flowing white dress. She is usually seen walking on the side of the road. Some witnesses even claim she will automatically appear in the backseat of your car. A former ghost hunting team called T.O.E. (Turlock Occult Element) says that a young Miwok Native American girl named Kalyska walks the same stretch of road as the Woman in White. They asked Kalyska what her name was and she said Kalyska. Looking up the name, it means “coyote chasing deer”. If you travel this road at night, you may just hear a woman screaming. As we drove down this road, we stopped in a few places and did some EVP sessions. I captured no EVPs. Wish Fire felt the presence of Kalyska. She feels that Kalyska looks after the wildlife, she is a lover of animals and does not intend to scare people that drive down this road.

Bob Hope Fox Theatre
There have been many performances at this theater. The theater opened in 1930. Wish Fire and I, walked around the theater and I captured an EVP of a man saying: “Going inside?” We heard about the man and woman dressed in Victorian attire who hangs out in the balcony overlooking the stage. Wish Fire believes this woman’s name is Betsy. Luke Mason of San Jose says that he felt a sharp tap on his shoulder. Luke says that he has felt cold spots in certain areas of the theater.

Hotel Stockton
Built in 1910, this majestic structure is located near the Regal Stockton City Centre Cinema in Janet Leigh Plaza. Hotel Stockton has been a 252-room hotel, City Hall, the County Courthouse, and the Public Administration Department during its century long existence. In that time, Hotel Stockton is alleged to have three particular entities that haunt its halls. The three entities are: The White Suit Smoker (who can be seen smoking while standing on a stool in the back area by the stairs), The Wandering Ghost on the 4th Floor (who is said to be that of a man who was killed in one of the rooms in the 1960s), and The Ghostly Pianist (disembodied piano music is sometimes heard). During our walk around, we heard 2 piano notes that sounded like it came from a distance.

The B&M Building
The former home to Visit Stockton and the Downtown Stockton Alliance, the 2nd oldest brick building in Muddville is situated in Janet Leigh Plaza, next to Blazin’ Cajun. It is also the home of an entity named “Lydia.” DSA employees on the 3rd floor have gone on the record with their first-hand accounts of a woman in a hair bun & long brown dress roaming the halls and gazing out windows. There have been cold spots felt, faint music heard, and the scent of cigars smelled in various areas of this building. On the outside of this building, I captured an EVP of a woman saying “hello”. I then asked…”are you Lydia?” The next EVP was of a woman that said “yes”.

CSU Stanislaus, Stockton Center (formerly Stockton State Hospital)
Our last stop was the CSU Stanislaus, Stockton Center, formerly known as the Stockton State Insane Asylum. Built in 1853, it was the state’s first hospital for the mentally ill. This hospital had a bad reputation from the beginning. A superintendent was accused of forcing patients to build his house and underreporting deaths under his watch. Patients were shackled, and some sterilized against their will. And like many hospitals at that time, lobotomies were considered appropriate treatment. Wish Fire could envision the torture that happened at this hospital. Today, that very stretch of land that once housed the hospital is now the home of the Stockton Campus of CSU Stanislaus and University Park Discovery Trail & World Peace Rose Garden. Wish Fire still felt the negative energy that was left behind. That negative energy will never go away.
