Six Idiot Republicans Vote With Democrats To Keep Haitians In The U.S.

House opposes Trump on immigration with move to help Haitians

Several House Republicans joined Democrats to oppose President Donald Trump on his immigration policy Wednesday, forcing a vote on a measure to reinstate temporary protections for some 350,000 Haitians living in the United States.

Six Republicans voted with 212 House Democrats and one independent reaching the threshold to advance the bill, which would keep Haitians eligible for temporary protected status [TPS] for three years. The program is intended for foreign nationals from countries facing dangerous conditions, such as armed conflict and environmental disasters.

The vote was forced using an increasingly popular legislative tool called a discharge petition that allows 218 or more representatives to circumvent the House speaker to bring a vote to the floor. Final passage of the bill in the House is expected Thursday or Friday.

“I have one of the largest Haitian populations in the country in my district,” said Rep. Michael Lawler (R-New York), who voted Wednesday push the bill to the House floor. “… If you end [temporary protections] without addressing work authorization, it will cause a huge crisis in our health care system, especially in an area like mine, where a lot of our Haitian TPS holders are nurses.”

Why can’t we have Americans working as nurses? Why can’t they go home and apply for visas? One problem is that too many Americans are getting worthless degrees from college, to many ones that bring no value, rather than working for degrees that have value.

“These 350,000 Haitian nationals are our neighbors. They’re valued members of our community,” said Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Massachusetts), who whipped support for the bill, in a video posted to her Instagram account this week. Pressley co-chairs the House Haiti Caucus.

TPS: temporary. Not permanent. But, Democrats want them with a legal status that allows them to vote in local, county and state elections, and, whoops, the ballot happened to have federal offices on it. Our bad! Anyhow, because they want a few nurses, we have to keep all the ones who are pure 4th world (completely failed state). There’s a reason the Dominican Republic has a wall on it’s border with Haiti. But, didn’t Democrats say Haiti is great?

Weird that she hasn’t visited Haiti

Republican Reps. María Elvira Salazar (Florida), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania), Lawler (New York), Don Bacon (Nebraska), Carlos Giménez (Florida) and Nicole Malliotakis (New York) voted to advance the bill.

Of course little miss amnesty Maria Salazar voted for this. Fitzpatrick, Lawler, and Bacon are also cosigners of her “Dignity” Act.
