NAIROBI, Kenya – A Kenyan police official says two men arrested with a car bomb on Kenya’s coast were in contact with the plotters of the September terrorist attack on an upscale mall in Nairobi that killed at least 67 people.
The official, who insisted on anonymity because he is not authorized to speak with the media, said Monday that the vehicle was packed with 173 kilograms (381 pounds) of explosives and was meant to target a shopping mall in Mombasa. The official said the two arrested men spoke on the phone with militants in Somalia connected to the Westgate Mall attack.
Kenya has experienced dozens of small bomb and gunfire attacks since al-Qaida-linked Somali militants from al-Shabab vowed to attack Kenya in retaliation for sending troops to Somalia in October 2011.

It bears noting that no jihadists have been apprehended in the monstrous massacre by Muslims on the Westgate Mall in Kenya.
