President Donald Trump stated that political violence in America stems from the left, citing flag burnings and anti-American rhetoric, while revealing that individuals linked to leftist groups are under FBI investigation following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10 at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, and 22-year-old Tyler Robinson was arrested two days later after his family reported his radicalization and opposition to Kirk’s views; the probe now examines pro-trans online communities and leftist organizations for possible involvement. Trump’s remarks drew criticism from Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro for fostering division, even as tributes continue, including Vice President JD Vance hosting a special episode of Kirk’s show and Turning Point USA planning a major memorial on September 21.

President Trump on Sunday warned that left leaning groups will be investigated after the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“If you look at the problem, the problem is on the left. It’s not on the right, like some people like to share the right, the problem we have is on the left,” Trump told reporters. “And when you look at the agitator, you look at the scum that speaks so badly of our country, the American flag burnings all over the place, that’s the left. That’s not the right.”
When questioned on whom he plans to investigate, he added, “We’ll see. We’ll be announcing.”
The president also suggested that some groups affiliated with the left are already under investigation, without specifying which he was referring to.
“A lot of the people that you would traditionally say are on the left,” he said when asked which groups will be investigated, adding, “they’re already under investigation.“
