“One Day, Florida Will Become Muslim”

Muhammad Musri, president of American Islam and Chairman of the Board of the Islamic Society of Central Florida discussed in his June 21, 2024 Friday sermon plans to buy up abandoned churches and turn them into mosques. He said that Muslims are turning churches into mosques in order to serve the same community, because one day they will become Muslims. Musri said that 100 years ago Christians invaded Islamic countries and built missionary schools destroying mosques and Islamic schools. He added that now the Muslims are “returning the favor” by converting churches into mosques and turning the local schools into Islamic schools. Musri stated: “This is an election year, but we are not going to be happy with either candidate, we have to be happy when Islam becomes the best candidate for us.” He added: “I ask Allah to give Islam victory in this country.”

American Islam is described as a “national organization representing and working to empower moderate Islam” on its website. According to his biography on the American Islam website, Muhammad Musri serves as an advisor on Islam and Muslims to various U.S. government agencies, and he is a member and past co-chairman of the Interfaith Council of Central Florida. Muhammad Musri delivered his Friday sermon at the Muslim Community Association of the San Francisco Bay Area, and it was streamed live on the mosque’s YouTube channel.

Muhammad Musri: “A lot of Christians are leaving their faith, especially the young generation. The churches are emptying out. The Pew Research Center has shown that in the last 10 years, 28% of people have left the church and became atheists or agnostics. They are not impressed anymore by the dogma that someone 2,000 years ago was crucified for their sins. They are searching for something that is more meaningful, that is consistent with science and consistent with the principles that we know today. Islam is the answer for them, and we are jumping on the opportunities.

“As these churches empty out – instead of spending larger amounts of money to build our mosques, we are buying these churches. We bought three churches so far and converted them into mosques, and now we have one we are buying with a school, to make it… Because we have to serve the same people.

“The people who are part of that community, one day will be Muslims. So we will make it into a mosque and an Islamic school for our children and their children, inshallah. A hundred years ago they invaded the Muslim world, and they built missionary schools and destroyed Islamic schools and mosques. Today, we bring back the favor back and turn their churches into mosques, and their schools into Islamic schools, and bring the light of Islam to here.

“We are able to buy and ready to go on institutions that have been there a long time, but they emptied out, and now it is time to be filled with Muslims, reverts, converts.

“This is an election year, but we are not going to be happy with either candidate, we have to be happy when Islam becomes the best candidate for us. I ask Allah to give Islam victory in this country, in our hearts, in our families, in our nation.”
