Supreme Court Blocks New Deportations of Venezuelans in Texas Under Alien Enemies Act

Once again, the left-wing judges vote as one. Always. Not a one ever goes rogue.

The “conservative majority”of judges are anything but. We always hold our breath to see if they will betray our Constitutional rights, yet again, save for Thomas and Alito.

Here again, they fail us.

Where were the courts when the illegitimate Biden open the borders and called for an invasion?

The Trump administration had been seeking to deport several Venezuelan men it accused of being members of Tren de Aragua, a criminal group it has designated as a terrorist organization, using powers contained in the 1798 Alien Enemies Act.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court suspended this bid, writing: “The Government is directed not to remove any member of the putative class of detainees from the United States until further order of this Court.”

Two of the conservatives on the court, Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, said they dissented from this opinion.

In the middle of the night, SCOTUS has paused Trump from deporting illegals under the Alien Enemies Act.

Trump has been relying on this law to effectuate mass deportations of illegals who are also gang members.

For those worried about the SCOTUS early Saturday morning ruling temporarily blocking President Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act, don’t be.

He’s made it clear that a judge wasn’t elected to deal with deportations, he was.

Supreme Court blocks new deportations of Venezuelans in Texas under 18th century Alien Enemies Act

Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling early Saturday morning blocking, at least for now, the deportations of any Venezuelans held in northern Texas under an 18th century wartime law.

The justices instructed the Trump administration not to remove Venezuelans held in the Bluebonnet Detention Center “until further order of this court.”

Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented from the majority opinion.

The court’s ruling comes after an emergency appeal from the American Civil Liberties Union arguing that federal immigration authorities appeared to be working to resume the removal of migrants from the U.S. under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

Two federal judges earlier declined to step in and the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has not made any decision.

The Alien Enemies Act has only been invoked three previous times in U.S. history, with the most recent being during World War II to hold Japanese-American civilians in internment camps.

The Trump administration claims the act gave them the authority to swiftly remove immigrants they accuse of being members of the Tren de Aragua gang, regardless of their immigration status.
