Ariel Sharon had a very distinguished military career in Israel. However, as Israel’s prime minister (2001-2006) he made one of the most catastrophic decisions in the history of Israel. In 2005, PM Sharon ordered the removal of all Israeli miliary forces from Gaza. Sharon dismantled all of the Israeli civilian communities in Gaza as well.
It was a nightmare. Jews pulled from their homes, forced to abandoned the lives and livelihoods that they built. Businesses were given to the Gazan Muslims so that they would have a ready made thriving economy. Only to see the Gazan Muslims set fire and destroy those businesses. And worst of all, the Gazan Muslims elected Hamas.
All that for “peace and security.”
in an interview with the daily newspaper Yediot Ahronot, Ariel Sharon gave a strikingly succinct explanation of his diplomacy, “I’ve made a deal with the Americans.” That was the position of the Condi-Bush administration.
The implementation of the disengagement plan marks “the beginning of the end for Israel,” Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal told the London-based al-Hayat newspaper Tuesday back in 2005. “It is unthinkable that our people will renounce the resistance, which made the enemy retreat.”
These decisions paved the way for Hamas to take control of Gaza, and turn into a militarized terror state. Since Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, Israel has fought four wars with Hamas, and several other military flair ups. Listen to President Trump below.

After his earlier call of the Gaza Strip being depopulated and subsequently taken over by Israel drew a lot of flak globally, especially from the Arab nations, US President Donald Trump asserted that his plan was only a ‘recommendation’ and not an ‘enforcement’, The Jerusalem Post reported. Speaking to Fox News , Trump reiterated his belief that his plan was the “best approach” to resolve the situation in the Middle East. “I’ll tell you the way to do it is my plan. I think that’s the plan that really works,” Trump said.
The US President added, “But I’m not forcing it. I’m just going to sit back and recommend it. And then the US would own the site, there’d be no Hamas. And they’d be developed and you’d start all over again with a clean slate.”
