18 Million Rising
18 Million Rising, a group that says it is organizing Asian Americans against Zionism and Islamophobia. It also held a teach-in in July 2024 about fighting against Zionist influence in the Asian American community, U.S. imperialism, and “Hindu Fascism (Hindutva).”[1]
The organization reacted to the atrocities of October 7, 2023, with a post expressing support for what it described as an uprising against injustice:
Today we are witnessing the Palestinian people rising up against 75+ years of Israeli settler colonial violence and occupation. We call on our Asian American community to join in support and speak out to end Israel’s oppression of Palestinians… The resistance against Israeli apartheid is a fight for liberation and freedom for all oppressed peoples around the world. [2]
The post has a graphic with the slogan, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free,” which is used to express support for the genocidal objective of destroying the state of Israel.
In another post that month, 18 Million Rising said that various causes within the U.S. are part of a single movement with the Hamas-led terrorist campaign against Israel:
For people of conscience and progressive movements in the United States, we see many similarities between the resistance movement of Palestinians to military occupation and the movements we are part of here to end racist policing, incarceration, occupation of Indigenous territories, and white supremacist, Christian fundamentalism targeting Black people, people of color, immigrants, women, LGBTQ people, and the poor and working class. [3]
The section of 18 Million Rising’s website titled Theory of Change explains that it is “harnessing the power of the internet and revolutionary propaganda” as part of its “strategizing to defeat our enemy.” Its most immediate concern is “the growth of a rightwing conservative Asian American faction.” [4]
The organization says it intends to “disrupt racial capitalism” and “challenge the forces that are imposing white nationalist, Islamophobic, male supremacist, militarism and corporate control over our society and economy.”
Its long-term objectives are “building radical communities,” “bringing an end to U.S. imperialism” and creating “a multiracial pluralistic democracy” that has no borders, law enforcement, or prison system.
7amleh: The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media
7amleh’s leadership praised the attacks of October 7, 2023, and the group has complained about the State Department’s inclusion of Palestinian groups on its Foreign Terrorist Organization list. The groups on that list are Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, and the Palestine Liberation Front.[5]
7amleh board member Neveen Abu Rahmoun wrote on October 7:
The Palestinian resistance is imposing a new stage since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa flood operation by resistance fighters infiltrating into numerous Israeli neighborhoods in the settlements, by creating points of contact, and by firing rockets of the resistance. Israel, in its turn, is constrained by this and has announced a state of high mobilization for war. The message of the resistance is clear, it has started and it shall escalate and shall impose a new reality.[6]
Similarly, 7amleh’s European Union Advocacy Officer Itxaso Dominguez said:
The fact that the attack came from Gaza should not surprise anyone: we are talking about an open-air prison on which wars are launched on a regular basis. A series of flagrant crimes against humanity that shed light on an uncomfortable reality – Palestinians will continue to resist… Gaza and all of Palestine are one of the world’s main laboratories for multi-layered, and increasingly sophisticated, intrusive mass surveillance systems. Despite that level of control, it is not the first time that Israel has been surprised by resistance.[7]
Two days after the attacks, 7amleh Project Coordinator Mohammad Badarneh said, “The ‘only important’ value of a human being living under occupation is the extent of his resistance to that occupation, in all possible means.”[8]
The next month, the group complained that Meta “immediately censored the Arabic hashtag [Al-Aqsa Flood] on the first day of the escalation” on Instagram and Facebook. The hashtag was used to spread images, videos and statements in support of the attacks. It is also telling that 7amleh referred to the attacks with a positive connotation of “the first day of the escalation.”[9]
Months prior to the attacks, 7amleh Monitoring and Documentation Officer, Ahmad Qadi, reacted favorably toward news of terrorist attacks on synagogues in Israel. He said, “every Israeli crime is met with greater determination for sacrifice, broader resistance and…victory.”[10]
In 2021, 7amleh accused Zoom of anti-Palestinian discrimination because it refused to host an online event with PFLP terrorist Leila Khaled,[11] who is often called “the first woman to hijack a plane.”[12] It merely referred to her as a “well known Palestinian political figure.”[13]
In 2020, the group gave similar treatment to Sabri Al-Banna, more commonly known as Abu Nidal,[14] a famous terrorist who killed or injured almost 900 people in 20 countries and assisted various other terrorist groups. He spearheaded terrorist attacks on two European airports, a synagogue in Turkey, a Greek cruise ship, and an American airliner in Pakistan. He’s also linked to the assassination of a Jordanian government official and three Palestinian officials who were serving his rival, the Palestine Liberation Organization.[15]
7amleh simply described him and senior PFLP senior official Ghassan Kanafani as “distinguished personalities.”[16]
That same year, the group published a report that protested U.S. and Israeli treatment of supposed “Palestinian human rights defenders, activists and organizations” who had action taken against them for their linkages to groups that appear on the State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. 7amleh wrote:
For Palestinians, the fact that many of the social networks and economic platforms that dominate access to the networked web are based in the United States (US), means that these businesses are legally bound to at least comply with US law. Yet, US law includes restrictions on working with organizations or individuals on the State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organizations, which include many Palestinian political organizations and parties, in violation of the right of Palestinians to freedom of expression, including political affiliation, especially the US State Department’s designations are controversial as there is no internationally recognized legal definition of terrorism.[17]
In 2015, 7amleh endorsed a wave of terrorist attacks in Israel that is often referred to as the “knife intifada” or “stabbing intifada” because of the prevalence of stabbing attacks during it. Over 200 stabbings, 80 shootings, and 40 vehicular attacks took place. A total of 38 Israelis were killed. All were civilians except for five members of Israel’s security services. Nearly 600 Israelis were wounded. Two Americans were killed, and one was wounded.[18]
Also in 2015, 7amleh promoted a protest in support of a hunger strike by imprisoned Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist Mohammed Alan. The group said the demonstration is also for the broader cause of acting “in defense of all our families and captives in the occupation prisons.”[19]
7amleh has close ties to terror-linked entities. It is a founder of the Palestinian Digital Rights Coalition,[20] which includes several organizations that were banned by Israel for their involvement with the PFLP terrorist group, an accusation supported by a copious amount of publicly available evidence.[21] It also partnered with a PFLP front called the Union of Agricultural Work Committees in 2018. [22]
AJP instantly reacted to the news of the October 7 attacks by tweeting an image of one of the bulldozers breaking through the border fence so the violence could commence with the words, “No cage goes unchallenged.”[24]
It also distributed a pledge to “stand with the Palestinian people’s right to defend themselves.”[25]
Sandra Tamari, the executive director of the Adalah Justice Project, justified the October 7 attacks as an act of “the oppressed rising up,” saying that “Hamas’s attack was resistance to an intolerable situation that has been taking place in the Gaza Strip.”[26]
Adalah Justice Project was started by the Israel-based organization Adalah.[27]
Advocating for Palestine
Advocating for Palestine published a guide that defends the October 7 attacks as acts of self-defense and overall attacks on Israel as “a case of anti-colonial resistance against violence, displacement, and racism.”[28]
It also provided advice on how to avoid answering questions about whether one supports Hamas or terrorism.
Alasna Institute
The prominent Muslim American founder of the Alasna Institute, Daniel Haqiqatiou, wrote, “The recent actions by Hamas are not acts of terrorism; they are acts of resistance.”[29]

Al-Awda: The Palestine Right to Return Coalition[30]
Al-Awda endorsed the October 7 attacks, saying:
We, the Al-Awda Palestine Right to Return Coalition, firmly stand in unwavering support of the Palestinian resistance, and we fervently urge our Palestinian people to mobilize in the face of colonial genocide. This ongoing struggle, born from a deep-seated yearning for justice and liberation, demands our resolute solidarity.”[31]
Al-Awda endorsed a protest led by the People’s Forum in Times Square on October 8 that had the expressed purpose of rallying people in favor of the October 7 attacks and its terrorist perpetrators. The official protest statement said:
On Sunday, October 8th, thousands of New Yorkers gathered in Times Square to stand in solidarity with Palestine. The rally took place a day after Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza initiated an unprecedented liberation struggle, the “Al-Aqsa Flood,” in response to accelerating attacks on Palestinians in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and in defiance of Israel’s efforts to ghettoize, besiege, starve, and suffocate the people of Gaza into total submission. As the organizers of this protest, we called on our communities in New York to rally behind a simple message: We stand with the Palestinian people. We defend their fundamental right to resist an illegal occupation, break out of their concentration camp, and defy the cruelty of the sixteen-year Zionist blockade.
These events not only shattered the myth of Israeli military invulnerability, they also demonstrated that the status quo—the promulgation of colonial settlements, the arming of pogromist mobs, the imprisonment and criminalization of Palestinians without charge or trial, the desecration of holy sites, and the daily humiliations of military rule and siege—is fundamentally untenable. The obscenity of the occupation will always be met with resistance.[32]
The official protest statement above was also signed by the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Palestinian Assembly for Liberation, the ANSWER Coalition and the New Jersey chapter of AMP.
Al-Awda also signed a declaration of the Committee of Anti-Imperialists in Solidarity with Iran that backs Iran’s direct attack on Israel and explicitly chooses the side of the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance” consisting of the government of Syria, Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist groups including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the Yemen-based Houthis and Iran-backed militias in Iraq who are trying to kill U.S. troops. It also sides with Russia by denouncing the “US and NATO proxy war in Ukraine.”
It brags:
The US no longer has control over West Asia. Put simply, the days of the US subjugating the nations of the region are over. This is owed to the steadfastness of Palestinian resistance and the growing deterrence capabilities developed by the Axis of Resistance from Palestine to Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen. [33]
Al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network/Middle East Policy Network
Al-Shabaka, which is registered in California as the Middle East Policy Network, reacted to the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel with a statement in support of the violence:
Al-Shabaka rejects the Israeli regime’s colonial borders that work to fragment and ultimately erase Palestinian existence. Breaching these boundaries expands the Palestinian imaginary [sic] for possibilities of both resistance and collective freedom.
We recognize that decolonization is not a metaphor; it is not merely statements or analysis, but an active process that demands the dismantling of colonial power and the reclamation of land.
We stand alongside those committed to this effort and to the liberation of Palestinians worldwide.[34]
All-African Peoples’ Revolutionary Party
The pan-African group cheered the October 7 attacks, proclaiming, “Palestine Fights Back!”[35]
It also said on October 22 above a photo said to depict the destruction of an Israeli tank by Hezbollah: “Zionism will not be liquidated by resistance alone. Resistance coupled with planned offensives and counter offensives.”[36]
It also celebrated that the “Palestinian resistance” is “not just radicalizing Palestinians alone. It is also radicalizing Africans who see the parallels in our realities. Both historic and current. It will recruit Africans into the African Revolution as well.”[37]
Alliance for Global Justice (AGJ)[38]
Alliance for Global Justice is a terrorism-linked entity that sees the U.S., NATO and Israel as its primary enemies. It says it seeks the overthrow of the U.S.’s “liberal democracy” and “global capitalism.”
AGJ says:
Liberal democracy is a sham. It is predicated not on the rule of the people, but on the preeminence of the ‘right’ to private property over and above all other considerations.…But liberal democracy is the governing principle of the US/NATO Empire, which serves global capitalism…
There are alternative democracies to the liberal kind. Popular, or participatory, democracies, This is the kind of democracy that the Alliance for Global Justice works for within the US, and it’s the kind of democracy we are dedicated to defending internationally from US interference. [39]
AGJ is the fiscal sponsor for several extremist groups. Through fiscal sponsorship a registered nonprofit acts as the nonprofit entity for an unregistered organization, rather than the sponsored organization operating as its own nonprofit. AGJ is the fiscal sponsor for:
- Samidoun (Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network), which is essentially a front for the Marxist-Leninist terrorist group, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Samidoun also supports Hamas and the atrocities on October 7, 2023.[40]
- The United National Antiwar Coalition,[41] an anti-American and pro-Iran extremist group that endorsed the October 7 attacks.[42]
- Popular Resistance, which is an organization dedicated to aggregating and distributing propagandized news articles favorable to those it sees as being a part of “resistance.” The beneficiaries are consistently anti-American governments and groups.[43]
Its reaction to the attempted assassination of former President Trump was not to condemn the violence, but to only say his murdering would not eliminate the threat from the “cult” behind him. It urged readers to “organize the overthrow of the corporate state that vomited up Trump,” which would include “our democratic institutions, including the legislative bodies, the courts and the media.” It says that “this militancy, which alone has the ability to destroy cult leaders,” should be embraced instead of the “bankrupt” Democratic Party.[44]
- Arizona Palestine Solidarity Alliance, which speaks positively about Hamas and the Houthis and incites violence against police and rioting.
- Immigrant Solidarity Network, which has a S.-China Solidarity Network that positively portrays the Chinese Communist Party–run government and country.[45]
In November 2023, AGJ lashed out against two left-leaning organizations[46] who severed their financial relationships with AGJ because of its fiscal sponsorship of Samidoun, accusing them of having “sunk into the pablum of privileged and impotent liberalism.”[47]
AGJ says accusations that it and Samidoun are supporters of Hamas are “false allegations” reminiscent of McCarthyism, but then says it refuses to “declare against Hamas” and refers to Hamas’s violence as “resistance.”
The statement gives a lengthy justification of the motives for the October 7, 2023, attacks without explicitly endorsing or condemning the atrocities. It says:
Let us say this clearly from the start: there is no equivalency between the actions of Hamas and other elements of the Palestinian resistance and the ongoing racist Apartheid and constant violence that is the hallmark of today’s Israel. However violent and excessive the actions of Hamas, all of it, no matter how just or unjust, no matter how tragic and hurtful, is an expression of resistance to the intolerable violence, repression, and humiliation resulting from over 76 years of occupation.
There simply are no two sides to colonialism and occupation. There is the aggressor and the victim of aggression. Every aspect of this conflict, including every excess and every abuse, has at its root, the occupation of Palestine achieved through the slaughter and displacement of Palestinian people, and their permanent status as Prisoners of War in their own native land.
In 2021, AGJ signed a joint statement written by the United National Antiwar Coalition that defends the Syrian dictatorship of Bashar Assad and condemns U.S. military action against his regime and Iran-linked forces in Syria who attacked U.S. forces.[48]
It questions the legitimacy of progressives who support the rebels fighting the Assad dictatorship and laments how it “has tragically been a divisive issue for the peace movement.” It attacks “activists on the ‘left’” who believe the consensus that the Assad regime used chemical weapons against Syrian rebels and civilians.
The AGJ-backed statement calls for an end to U.S. and international efforts to assist efforts to overthrow the regime. It condemns all intervention in Syria by the U.S., NATO, Israel “and other repressive states in the Middle East.”
AGJ was birthed from a group called the Nicaragua Network that advocated for the communist Sandinistas, whose leader, Daniel Ortega, currently rules Nicaragua as an anti-American dictator.[49]
The group remains supportive of Ortega as well as the other authoritarian communist regimes like Cuba, Venezuela, and even North Korea.
AGJ defended Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and framed it as a defensive action against imperialism.[50] The group described Ukraine as a fascist white supremacist state, even though Ukrainian President Zelensky is Jewish and the Russian dictatorship supports and uses white supremacists to threaten its enemies internationally.[51]
Its statement praises Russia’s role in supporting “liberation movements” around the world and has a graphic underneath the text that says, “The U.S. in the course of history has become the most significant threat to the world.”
AGJ has an ongoing list of so-called political prisoners who “are directly oppressed by the abuses and neglect of the neoliberal and militarist U.S. Empire and engaged in or somehow advancing a revolutionary program to end that Empire and the global capitalist model it serves, even if they do so unintentionally.”[52]
Although the group says “[o]ur listing of these prisoners does not constitute an endorsement of the tactics or immediate goals of every individual,” it contradicts itself by immediately thereafter by stating:
Our documentation of political prisoners is made on a case-by-case basis involving a holistic assessment of individual backgrounds, motives, the contexts in which their actions took place and their treatment in the justice system. The criminalization of their actions, often targeting social movement leaders and disruptors of the status quo, is a reflection of decades-old tactics of persecution, intimidation and suppression of political resistance.
The list consists of many terrorists and extremists who engaged in violent crimes, including members of Al-Qaeda, anti-police rioters, fundraisers for Hamas, an operative for the North Korean government, a high-level spy for Cuba, and various Marxist-Leninist and black nationalist criminals.
Allied Media Projects
Allied Media Projects[53] lists 18 Million Rising and Black Lives Matter Detroit among their fiscally sponsored projects.[54]
18 Million Rising is a group that says it is organizing Asian Americans against Zionism and Islamophobia. It also held a teach-in in July 2024 about fighting against Zionist influence in the Asian American community, U.S. imperialism and “Hindu Fascism (Hindutva).”[55]
The organization reacted to the October 7, 2023, atrocities with a post expressing support for what it described as an uprising against injustice:
Today we are witnessing the Palestinian people rising up against 75+ years of Israeli settler colonial violence and occupation. We call on our Asian American community to join in support and speak out to end Israel’s oppression of Palestinians… The resistance against Israeli apartheid is a fight for liberation and freedom for all oppressed peoples around the world.[56]
The post has a graphic with the slogan, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free,” which is used to express support for the genocidal objective of destroying the state of Israel.
In another post that month, 18 Million Rising seems to have indirectly endorsed justified violence on U.S. soil by favorably comparing the legitimacy of the Palestinian “resistance movement” with various other social justice causes against perceived oppression and racism:
For people of conscience and progressive movements in the United States, we see many similarities between the resistance movement of Palestinians to military occupation and the movements we are part of here to end racist policing, incarceration, occupation of Indigenous territories, and white supremacist, Christian fundamentalism targeting Black people, people of color, immigrants, women, LGBTQ people, and the poor and working class.[57]
BLM Detroit made multiple posts supporting Hamas after October 7 and defended its kidnappings, claiming that almost all were Israeli military personnel guilty of enforcing the “open-air prison” in Gaza. It further claimed that opposition to Hamas is largely caused by “disinformation.”[58]
American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC)[59]
The ADC enjoyed the October 7 attacks, saying:
The unprecedented and ongoing resistance by Palestinians from Gaza, that caught Israel by surprise, did not happen in a vacuum.…
…
Palestinians are asserting their right to self-determination and unequivocally demanding their freedom. Never underestimate the will of an oppressed and occupied people to be free.[60]
ADC’s National Executive Director, Abed Ayoub, praised porn star Mia Khalifa after she sparked controversy by openly celebrating Hamas’s attacks. One of her comments was, “Can someone please tell the freedom fighters in Palestine to flip their phones and film horizontal[?]”[61]
Ayoub said Khalifa “has shown more courage on this than most elected officials, journalists, and fake social justice/progressive activists out there.”
America First Political Action Conference/Groyper Army
The America First Political Action Conference is led by white supremacist Nick Fuentes, whose fanbase are called “Groypers” or the “Groyper Army.” Fuentes roots for the U.S. to be defeated internationally and for Hamas and its Iran-backed allies to defeat Israel.
Fuentes describes himself as an “America First” conservative Catholic theocrat and his followers as an “an American sovereignty movement.” He is likely the most influential white supremacist leader in the U.S., with almost 91,000 followers on Rumble and 64,000 subscribers on Telegram as of August 2024.[62]
Fuentes said, “I think I’ll go with Hamas over all these tricky Zionist Jews”[63] and has suggested that the Israeli government purposely allowed the October 7, 2023, atrocities to happen.[64]
He also criticized the media’s characterization of Hamas as a terrorist group as “propaganda” attributable to subversive Jewish pressure:
Now the propaganda machine has been working in overdrive. Ever since this invasion, the media has been saying—and watch very closely—the media has been saying that Hamas is not a legitimate government and they’ve been saying that Palestine is not a legitimate state. They have been saying that the Hamas incursion into Israel is pure evil and terrorism. They say that you have to call Hamas a terrorist group. And the Jews are specifically calling on the media to brand them as such.[65]
In July 2023, Fuentes claimed that Jews believe “all Christians must die” and vowed to kill and defeat them and other “enemies of Christ” in a violent “holy war:”
We’re in a holy war and I will tell you this: Because we’re willing to die in the holy war, we will make them die in the holy war. And they will go down. We have God on our side, and they will go down with their Satanic master. They have no future in America. The enemies of Christ have no future in this world.[66]
Fuentes hopes that Russia, China, and the Iran-led terrorists will defeat the U.S., Israel, and their allies:
America is the seat of the liberal empire that controls the world and we are enemies of that liberal order because of our old world views and to the extent that Russia is rolling that back or China is rolling that back and to the extent that Israel is being led into a trap that will alienate it from the world and diminish its influence, then we have to support these causes. We have to be strategic about it.[67]
He said, “I actually want a Catholic monarchy. I want like a Catholic dictatorship. I want women to be veiled. I don’t want them to be seen. I want them listening to their husbands.”[68] On another occasion, he said women should “just go in the kitchen” and “something like Sharia Law is necessary in every country on the face of the earth.”[69]
Fuente believes “Talmudic Judaism” has “got to go from public life at the highest levels.”[70] He wants the U.S. to ban Jews from holding office or serving in law enforcement: “I don’t want Jewish leaders. We should not be answering to people that reject and hate Jesus Christ. It’s totally ridiculous. It’s unacceptable….those people cannot be lawmakers, or the law givers, or the law enforcers.”[71]
In June 2024, former grand wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and Louisiana state representative David Duke from 1989 to 1992 attended a rally organized by Fuentes in Detroit, saying he was there to support Groypers and those “that are working to save our country and save us from Jewish supremacism and Jewish genocide because we are being genocided just like the Palestinians.”[72]
At the rally, Fuentes told the audience that his movement needs to undertake a revolution, appearing to endorse violence toward that end:
The American revolution was to break away from a small country thousands of miles away, separated by oceans, that was controlling unjustly the affairs of this country. That is why the only patriotic moment that can claim the mantle of America First is the one that says “we must have a second American revolution from the Jewish mafia and the state of Israel.”[73]
He said in March 2024 that people who “worship false gods” and are involved in a heavily-Jewish “occult element at the high levels of society” would be executed if his movement took power:
There is an occult element at the high levels of society and specifically among the Jews …because so many of the people that are perpetrating the lies and the destruction on the country, they are evil doers. They are people that worship false gods, they are people that practice magic or rituals or whatever, and more than anything those people need to be, when we take power, they need to be given the death penalty. Straight up. And, I’m far more concerned about that than I am about even non-white people or mass migration.[74]
At his 2022 America First Political Action Conference, Fuentes praised Hitler and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and quoted Islamist terrorists while condemning the United States:
The United States government has become the evil empire in the world. The United States government has become the Great Satan, as many have called it.…Look at China. I hear Fox News and conservative talk all the time about ‘the ChiComs’ [Chinese Communists].…And now they are going on about Russia and ‘Vladimir Putin is Hitler,’ and they say that’s not a good thing [laughs].…I shouldn’t have said that.[75]
Fuentes has said “I love Hitler,” calling him “cool,”[76] and that he agrees with “most” of Hitler’s actions.[77] He also denies that the Holocaust happened. [78] He compared concentration camps to baking cookies and said the historical account of the Holocaust “just doesn’t make sense.”[79] He says, “All I want is revenge of my enemies and total Aryan victory.”[80]
In May 2022, the treasurer of the America First PAC, Jaden McNeil, resigned and publicly alleged that Fuentes was not transparent about the group’s expenditures and that he kept him and fellow board member conservative pundit Michelle Malkin unaware of how money is spent.[81]
McNeil, who lived with Fuentes for two years, described Fuentes as an abusive “cult leader” who isolates, silences, and threatens underlings. He says that he only went to mass once during those two years, despite proclaiming to be a devout Catholic.[82] Another former close associate, Simon Dickerman, appeared on a YouTube show with McNeil and substantiated his claims of Fuentes acting like a cult leader and added additional details about his abuses.[83]
American Civic and Humanitarian Coalition
The Illinois-based American Civic and Humanitarian Coalition (ACHC) posted messages endorsing the Hamas-led atrocities on October 7, 2023, and supporting violence targeting in Israel more generally.
ACHC showcased a protest sign endorsing the atrocities at a rally on November 26. It has a glorifying photo taken during the attacks, has “#AlAqsaFlood” written on it (which is Hamas’s branding for the attacks to make it sound like a legitimate military operation) and has the words, “Resistance is justified when people are occupied.”[84]
It also chose to emphasize a protest sign that says “Where is oppression there will be resistance” and “From the River to the Sea Palestine will be free”—a slogan used to proclaim support for the genocidal objective of destroying Israel as a country.[85]
American Muslims for Palestine/Americans for Justice in Palestine Educational Foundation/Americans for Justice in Palestine Action[86] [87]
Congressional testimony has described AMP as “arguably the most important sponsor and organizer” of SJP, which declared itself to be a part of Hamas.[88]
The testimony outlined what it described as a “significant overlap between AMP and people who worked for or on behalf of organizations that were designated, dissolved, or held civilly liable by federal authorities for supporting Hamas.”
The initial reaction of AMP and its associated Americans for Justice in Palestine Action to the October 7 attacks vaguely and indirectly justified the bloodshed by framing it as a reaction to Israeli crimes without any language suggesting any fault on the part of Hamas.[89]
AMP then published a longer and bolder statement that indisputably endorsed the attacks but clearly reflected a decision to avoid mentioning Hamas or any other terrorist groups, instead referring to “the acts of Palestinian armed groups.”[90]
“First of all, this was not an attack, it was a response. Expecting a besieged, occupied, brutalized, and colonized people to remain docile in the face of nearly a century of brutal oppression and colonial subjugation is inhumane and unjust,” AMP said.
It continued to say, “the onus rests with the Israel apartheid regime to end the brutal siege on Gaza, or else the Palestinians will find themselves compelled to end it themselves as we’ve seen in the past 48 hours.”
AMP has hired staff solely dedicated to campus activity and it plays a critical role in organizing SJP activity, training its student activists, outreach, putting together events and providing unknown amounts of funding. AMP receives donations through its Americans for Justice in Palestine Educational Foundation nonprofit entity.[91]
Nine American and Israeli victims of the attacks on October 7 have filed a lawsuit against SJP and AMP’s involvement in Hamas’s operations. It alleges, “AMP and NSJP are not merely organizing to assist Hamas’s ongoing terror campaign abroad—they are intentionally extending their aid to fomenting chaos, violence, and terror in the United States.”
The plaintiffs further argue:
[AMP]serves as Hamas’s propaganda division in the United States. AMP was founded from the ashes of disbanded organizations created by senior Hamas officials after those organizations and related individuals were found criminally and civilly liable for providing material support to Hamas and other affiliated terrorist groups.
In 2010, AMP expanded its operation to American college campuses when it founded Defendant National Students for Justice in Palestine (“NSJP”) to control hundreds of Students for Justice in Palestine (“SJP”) chapters across the country. Through NSJP, AMP uses propaganda to intimidate, convince, and recruit uninformed, misguided, and impressionable college students to serve as foot soldiers for Hamas on campus and beyond. [92]
AMP’s New Jersey endorsed a protest led by the People’s Forum in Times Square on October 8 that had the expressed purpose of rallying people in favor of the October 7 attacks and its terrorist perpetrators.
The obscenity of the occupation will always be met with resistance.[93]
The official protest statement above was also signed by the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Palestinian Assembly for Liberation, Al-Awda: The Palestine Right to Return Coalition and the ANSWER Coalition.
Anakbayan
Anakbayan is a Filipino communist group that endorsed the October 7, 2023, attacks. It said:
Why must Filipinos stand with Palestine?
Palestinians launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood inside Israel, resisting the decade long history of US-backed Israel occupation where Palestine had faced human rights abuses and unjustified mass murders.[94]
It passionately supports SJP and its “historic victories against the violent and fascist Zionist entities on their campuses,” singling out its “militant efforts” for praise. It roots for SJP to “seize our universities.”[95]
It also signed a declaration of the Committee of Anti-Imperialists in Solidarity with Iran that backs Iran’s direct attack on Israel and explicitly chooses the side of the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance” consisting of the government of Syria, Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist groups including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the Yemen-based Houthis, and Iran-backed militias in Iraq who are trying to kill U.S.
ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition[97]
ANSWER is a group that has links to the Chinese Communist Party and has declared itself to be in alignment with Hamas and the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance.” It is also supportive of Russia over Ukraine.
ANSWER endorsed a protest led by the People’s Forum in Times Square on October 8 that had the expressed purpose of rallying people in favor of the October 7 attacks and its terrorist perpetrators.
The obscenity of the occupation will always be met with resistance.[98]
The official protest statement above was also signed by the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Palestinian Assembly for Liberation, Al-Awda: The Palestine Right to Return Coalition and the New Jersey chapter of AMP.
ANSWER also signed a declaration of the Committee of Anti-Imperialists in Solidarity with Iran that backs Iran’s direct attack on Israel and explicitly chooses the side of the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance” consisting of the government of Syria, Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist groups including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the Yemen-based Houthis and Iran-backed militias in Iraq who are trying to kill U.S. troops. It also sides with Russia by denouncing the “US and NATO proxy war in Ukraine.” [99]
It brags:
The US no longer has control over West Asia. Put simply, the days of the US subjugating the nations of the region are over. This is owed to the steadfastness of Palestinian resistance and the growing deterrence capabilities developed by the Axis of Resistance from Palestine to Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.”
ANSWER is fiscally sponsored[100] by Progress Unity Fund[101] does which is linked to the Chinese Communist Party.[102]
Anti-Racist Action is an anarchist group that describes itself as “anti-fascist” (or “Antifa”) and supports violence toward perceived opponents.
An article by the Central Texas chapter expresses sympathy for “Palestinians’ fierce struggle against colonization,” as well as the governments of Iran and Syria, who it depicts as being targeted by Israel solely because of each country’s “attempts to free itself from American control of its natural resources and finances.”[104]
It further boasts of successful attacks on its enemies, making it clear that it is referring to the October 7 attacks by including a link to an analysis about Israel’s failure to stop the invasion titled, “Israel’s Military Tech Fetish is a Failed Strategy.” The anarchist article reads:
While profit and capitalist ideology have led Israel and America to place their faith in high-tech toys, we know that the masses make history. Their delusions of superiority have been shattered by the rebirth of rebellion, occurring right under their noses but catching them utterly off-guard and unprepared.
All of their cell phone spyware, surveillance satellites, and “artificially intelligent” missile shields cannot elevate the IDF above concentration camp guards of the past. They will flee or fall like any other cruel jailer in the face of humanity’s struggle for liberation.[105]
Anti-War Committee/Minnesota Anti-War Committee
The Anti-War Committee, also known as the Minnesota Anti-War Committee,[106] issued a joint statement on October 8 that legitimized the previous day’s attacks, criticized Senator Klobuchar’s description of its perpetrators as terrorists and announced that a protest would be held outside of her office the next day.[107]
The other endorsers of the statement were the Minnesota Peace Action Coalition, SJP chapter at the University of Minnesota, AMP’s Minnesota chapter, Freedom Road Socialist Organization, Minnesota BDS Community, Women Against Military Madness and Veterans for Peace Chapter 27.
It stated:
On Saturday, Palestinian resistance fighters launched incursions into Israel-occupied territory outside the densely populated Gaza Strip. Footage showed Palestinian bulldozers demolishing the border fence built by Israel to contain Gaza after the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Palestinian-controlled enclave in 2005. In 2018, the Gaza border fence was the site of the Great March of Return protests, where hundreds of Palestinian refugees were killed and wounded by Israeli soldiers as they attempted to return to their homeland en masse…
… ‘As long as apartheid Israel occupies Palestinian land, we should expect that Palestinians will resist and fight for the freedom of their nation by any means necessary,’ said Wyatt Miller of the MN Anti-War Committee, the group initiating the call to action. ‘Peace can only be achieved through justice, yet the US continues to send billions in aid to prop up Israel’s unjust regime. It needs to stop.’
President Biden and politicians from both parties quickly pledged support for Israel in the wake of the fighting. Klobuchar, a strong supporter of US aid to Israel, characterized the Palestinian resistance forces as “terrorists.”
It also reposted a statement from the Minnesota Peace Action Coalition that expressed its solidarity with the government of Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, the government of Syria, the Yemen-based Houthis and Iran-backed Shiite militias in Iraq who target the U.S. military on April 14 immediately following Iran’s direct attack on Israel.[108]
Its post reads in part:
NO WAR WITH IRAN! RESISTING GENOCIDE IS NOT A CRIME!
On Saturday, April 13, the Islamic Republic of Iran launched a retaliatory strike on Israel, in response to Israel’s assassination of nine Iranian officers in the bombing of an Iranian consulate. Resistance forces across the Middle East in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon also launched retaliatory strikes in solidarity with both Iran and the people of Palestine.
Iran has long been a target of US aggression, due to the long-standing solidarity it has shown with Palestine and its resistance to US imperialism. We demand no US intervention, not in Iran, not in Palestine, not in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, or Lebanon, NOWHERE.
US OUT OF THE MIDDLE EAST!
Arab-American Action Network (AAAN)[109]
Hatem Abudayyeh, the executive-director of AAAN, is also the national chairman of the pro-Hamas U.S. Palestinian Community Network.[110] USPCN declared after the October 7 attacks, “Our people are waging an anti-colonial, anti-occupation, and anti-Zionist liberation struggle!”[111]
Abudayyeh’s said at a rally in July 2024:
[T]he vast majority of the world stands with Palestine and its right to self-defense and resistance in Gaza.
That the Palestinians and the Lebanese and the Yemenis and hundreds of millions of other Arabs in the region will continue to resist and ultimately defeat the US and Israeli war machines…
…Before South African apartheid was defeated, our international movement had built a consensus that South Africa had no right to exist as a racist, white supremacist, settler-colonialist, apartheid state. Today, there is the same worldwide consensus that Israel also has no right to exist as a racist, white supremacist, settler-colonialist, apartheid, Zionist state. It is on its last legs, as is the US empire.[112]
AAAN had a convicted PFLP terrorist, Rasmea Odeh, serving as its associate director until she was imprisoned in 2015 and deported back to Jordan in 2017 for lying about her involvement in terrorism on her application for citizenship. She is also the co-founder of AAAN’s Arab Women’s Committee.[113]
An Instagram post from September 2022 that was originally authored by USCPN and reposted by Mamas Activating Movements for Abolition and Solidarity (MAMAS) says Odeh is a “co-founder” of the organization.[114] Elsewhere, USCPN has described her role in the group as only a founding member of its Chicago chapter. The 2022 post says:
Rasmea was a co-founder of USPCN & a mentor to many of our current members. She is still an extraordinary organizer & a living personification of all the elements of the Palestinian experience. A refugee twice over, a tortured political prisoner, a survivor of collective punishment, a women’s & refugee rights organizer, an elected member of the PLO’s Palestinian National Council, a brilliant analyst and thinker, & a legendary fighter for liberation, we will always remember her time with us & we wish her all the very best.
We say to Rasmea what Palestinians always say: “We will see you next year in a liberated Palestine!”[115]
Abudayyeh, who has a well-documented history of supporting terrorism,[116] was one of at least 23 activists in Chicago and Minneapolis whose homes were raided or were issued subpoenas as part of a FBI counterterrorism investigation in 2010.[117]
The authorities believed they had strong evidence of providing material support to terrorist organizations, particularly PFLP and the Marxist-Leninist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). Other reports indicated that law enforcement was also investigating links to Hamas and Hezbollah. [118] [119] One of the suspects being investigated said it seemed that the FBI’s case related to the activists’ links to the Palestinian Women’s Committees,[120] a front for PFLP.[121]
In addition to the groups led by Abudayyeh, the activists belonged to FRSO,[122] [123] the Minnesota Anti-War Committee (also known simply as the Anti-War Committee), Colombia Action Network, the Palestine Solidarity Group of Chicago, the National Committee to Free Ricardo Palmera (an imprisoned high-level FARC member), and FightBack! news media outlet, a FRSO entity whose podcast Abudayyeh appeared on to glorify the vicious Hamas-led terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, that murdered around 1,200 Israelis and over 30 Americans.[124] [125]
The activists stuck together and those who were subpoenaed refused to testify. Ultimately, no charges were filed.
USPCN is fiscally sponsored by the Westchester People’s Action Coalition (WESPAC Foundation).[126]
Arab Resource and Organizing Center
AROC reacted to the October 7 attacks by posting a graphic that shows Palestinians celebrating and advertises a rally it put together for the next day in front of the Israeli consulate. It wrote next to the image, “Palestine is rising! Gaza is rising!”[127]
BAYAN-USA
BAYAN-USA is the U.S. chapter of the Philippines-based New Patriotic Alliance (Bagong Alyansang Makabayan) and it serves as its “information bureau.” BAYAN-USA is an alliance of 26 “anti-imperialist and progressive” Filipino groups in the U.S. that opposes the influence of “imperialist” countries like the U.S. and China on the Philippines.[128]
A dozen Anakbayan-USA[129] chapters were listed as BAYAN-USA member organizations on its website as of October 2024.[130]
Anakbayan endorsed the Hamas-led terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023;[131] praised the Hamas-affiliated Students for Justice in Palestine’s protests; expressed its wish for the group to “seize our universities”;[132] and signed a statement declaring its solidarity with the Iranian theocracy, the Syrian dictatorship, Hamas, Hezbollah and other Iran-backed terrorist groups.[133]
Other Filipino organizations inside BAYAN-USA include GABRIELA USA, the U.S.-based wing of the Philippines-based GABRIELA Women’s Party (General Assembly Binding Women for Reform, Integrity, Equality, Leadership and Action); eight U.S. chapters of the Philippines-based Migrante International; and the League of Filipino Students at San Francisco State University.[134]
Bay Rage Brigade/Be Right Back
Bay Rage Brigade, also known as Be Right Back or BRB, is an anarcho-communist group in the San Francisco Bay Area that supports violent Palestinian “resistance” in general, including the October 7 attacks, and the Lion’s Den terrorist group in particular. It describes itself as a group of “Muslims, Jews, queers, trans, and spiritual comrades.”
BRB declared responsibility for vandalizing a HSBC building, U.S. military recruitment office, a Starbucks and a subsidiary of General Motors in a statement on the IndyBay website. It said it chose one in each target category of financial, military, corporate and tech.
Its statement reads in part:
As our brothers, our sisters, all our spiritual siblings in Gaza hold their families close and await martyrdom we refuse to stand idly by for any longer. We will take our cues from the brave and fluid Palestinian resistance groups. Rigid, liberal, American advocacy orgs that seek to control and mediate revolutionary rage will not facilitate the actions that are needed right now. If the October 7th offensive taught us anything it is that courage, ingenuity, commitment to attack, and organizing across political tendencies is how we will win.
We refuse to blindly walk the same permitted march routes, we refuse to chant the same hollow chants and scroll past the videos of dying children. “Long Live the Intifada” means bringing it to life in our own cities, right now. International Solidarity means devouring Amerikkka from the inside.
The Palestinian resistance knows what must be done and what is at stake. We must show through action that we also know. For every increase in repression in Palestine there must be a corresponding repercussion for the settler state/s. Our enemies must be made to bleed for every bomb, every bullet, and every martyr. We must show the United States that if they are going to escalate against the resistance in Palestine then there is another resistance that will escalate against them domestically. We must articulate our revolutionary politics through languages that are indigenous to us. As our brothers the Lion’s Den said, “The talking after 11:00 [on the first night of the offensive] is only for takbeers and bullets.” [135]
Bears for Palestine, UC Berkeley
Bears for Palestine said on October 7:
In light of the recent Palestinian resistance uprisings on occupied land, Bears for Palestine, as a chapter of the united coalition of Students For Justice in Palestine, unequivocally denounces the occupation and its military rule. We call on all fellow SJP and student organizations to unite with us, as we publish this formal statement today in display of our unwavering support of the resistance in Gaza and the broader occupied Palestinian lands.
We the undersigned stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine. From River to Sea, glory to the Palestinian resistance, and glory to our martyrs.[136]
It also stated:
- “We invariably reject Israel’s framing as a victim. Whereas to demonize and condemn indigenous resistance is to overshadow the decades of oppression, ethnic cleansing and destruction of the Palestinian people.”
- “The occupational borders of 1967 haven’t been broken like this since the Second Intifada. Towfan Al-Aqsa [Al-Aqsa Flood] now stands as a revolutionary moment in contemporary Palestinian resistance. We honor Palestinians who are “working on the ground on several axes of the so-called ‘Gaza envelope’ alongside our comrades in blood and arms and what is coming is greater. Victory or martyrdom.”
- “We as students possess an obligation to support the liberation movement and embody a solidarity that transpasses theory and is grounded in practice.”
- “We support the resistance. We support the liberation movement and we indisputably support the Uprising!”
Bears for Palestine also endorsed Iran’s attack on Israel on April 14, saying that “Iran wasn’t attacking. It was responding.”[137]
Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee (BNC)/Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI)[138]
BNC, with PACBI as a component of it, has extensive and direct ties to terrorist organizations.
BNC responded to the October 7 attacks with a statement that expressed solidarity (the Wayback Machine has since excluded the archived page;[139] also archived here) with the “Palestinian freedom fighters” and their “justified use of armed resistance against the oppressors’ military and civilians.”[140]
BNC then removed the language and added a note claiming that hackers had edited their statements.[141]
Its website still praises a wave of terrorism committed by Hamas and many unaffiliated extremists that began in October 2015 and didn’t end until June 2016.[142]
BNC’s ties to terrorism are so close that its leadership includes the Palestinian National and Islamic Forces, an umbrella for coordinating the efforts of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, PFLP, PFLP-GC, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and other Palestinian terrorist groups.
BAP reacted to the October 7 attacks by saying it stands with Palestine because “a colonized people have a right to resist occupation and fight for self-determination by any means necessary.”
It also signed a declaration of the Committee of Anti-Imperialists in Solidarity with Iran that backs Iran’s direct attack on Israel and explicitly chooses the side of the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance” consisting of the government of Syria, Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist groups including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, the Yemen-based Houthis and Iran-backed militias in Iraq who are trying to kill U.S. troops. It also sides with Russia by denouncing the “US and NATO proxy war in Ukraine.”[144]
It brags, “The US no longer has control over West Asia. Put simply, the days of the US subjugating the nations of the region are over. This is owed to the steadfastness of Palestinian resistance and the growing deterrence capabilities developed by the Axis of Resistance from Palestine to Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.”
Black for Palestine has made over 100 social media postings supporting terrorists, including the leader of PFLP, according to the Canary Mission.[146] It also was involved in the creation of a “Black and Palestinian Solidarity Organizing Toolkit” that endorsed Hamas by showcasing a glorifying image of a Hamas paraglider associated with the October 7 attacks with the words “Black Liberation for Palestinian Freedom” above it. [147]
Black Lives Matter Chicago
BLM Chicago posted an image of a Hamas paraglider on October 9 with the statement, “I stand with Palestine.”[148]
Black Lives Matter Detroit
BLM Detroit made multiple posts supporting Hamas after October 7 and defended its kidnappings, claiming that almost all were Israeli military personnel guilty of enforcing the “open-air prison” in Gaza. It further claimed that opposition to Hamas is largely caused by “disinformation.” [149]
Black Lives Matter Grassroots[150]
BLM Grassroots’ October 9 statement reads:
As the world is faced with deep questions about self-determination, as we all desire and pray for a world of peace,, we must stand unwaveringly on the side of the oppressed. When a people have been subject to decades of apartheid and unimaginable violence, their resistance must not be condemned, but understood as a desperate act of self-defense.
Black Lives Matter Grassroots stands in solidarity with our Palestinian family who are currently resisting 57 years of settler colonialism and apartheid. As Black people continue the fight to end militarism and mass incarceration in our own communities, let us understand the resistance in Palestine as an attempt to tear down the gates of the world’s largest open air prison. As a radical Black organization grounded in abolitionist ideals, we see clear parallels between Black and Palestinian people.
We, too, understand what it means to be surveilled, dehumanized, property seized, families separated, our people criminalized and slaughtered with impunity, locked up in droves, and when we resist they call us terrorists. We, too, dream of a world where our people may live freely on decolonized land. May the borders, checkpoints, prisons, police and watchlists that terrorize our communities crumble and may the world we build from their ashes honor those who have fallen in struggle.
For lasting peace to come, the entire apartheid system must be dismantled. The war on the Palestinian people must cease. We call on the United States government to immediately stop funding war and redirect the $4 billion in annual spending from the Israeli military to repair the damage caused by U.S. backed wars, military air strikes, coups, and destabilizing interventions against oppressed people around the world.”[151]
Black Lives Matter Indy/Black Lives Matter Indy10
BLM Indy reposted a message from the U.S. Palestinian Community Network that reacted to the October 7 attacks by saying, “The heroic Palestinian people have the right to resist their racist, white supremacist, land-stealing zionist occupiers!”[152]
Black Lives Matter Phoenix
BLM Phoenix reposted a SJP statement that endorsed the October 7 attacks and said, “Palestinian freedom fighters are not terrorists!” BLM Phoenix also said, “The Palestinian attack was a revolution and attempt to reclaim their freedom.”
It also stated:
[W]e are also freedom fighters who have been grossly mislabeled and violently targeted for standing up against injustice to our people…so…you can call them whatever you want…but we will call them freedom fighters and we will stand in full support of the resistance happening in Palestine. [153]
BlackOUT Collective was involved in the creation of a “Black and Palestinian Solidarity Organizing Toolkit” that endorsed Hamas by showcasing a glorifying image of a Hamas paraglider associated with the October 7 attacks with the words “Black Liberation for Palestinian Freedom” above it. [155]
Blood Tribe
The Nazi group Blood Tribe cheered on the Hamas-led terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, with its leader, Christopher Pohlhaus writing the next day, “Thoroughly enjoying the show in Israel over the past days.”[156]
Bronx Anti-War Coalition
The Bronx Anti-War Coalition states, “We view the Palestinian Resistance and the Axis of Resistance as the only realistic path toward achieving liberation for Palestine.”[157]
The Axis of Resistance is an Iran-led coalition of terrorists and militias fighting Israel and the U.S. military that includes the government of Syria, Hamas, other Iran-backed Palestinian terrorist groups, Hezbollah, the Yemen-based Houthis and Iran-backed militias in Iraq.
It describes itself as an “anti-imperialist, direct action coalition fighting state violence while advancing decolonization” by “materially supporting national liberation for all oppressed people.” [158]
On the topics of violence and peace, the coalition says:
We subscribe to the Black Alliance for Peace’s definition of peace* and support the right to resist colonial imperialism by any means necessary, including armed struggle. We are not a pacifist movement and believe there can be no peace without justice.
*Peace is not the absence of conflict but rather the achievement by popular struggle and self-defense of a world liberated from the interlocking issues of global conflict, nuclear armament and proliferation, unjust war, and subversion through the defeat of global systems of oppression that include colonialism, imperialism, patriarchy, and white supremacy.[159]
