Asheville police investigate reported assault where 3 victims report minor injuries

The Asheville Police Department is continuing to investigate an assault that occurred at ‘Another Carolina Anarchist Bookfair’ (ACAB) on Saturday, June 29.

Taylor Danielle Zarkin, 35, has been arrested and charged with two counts of resisting, delay and obstruct.

Police said the assault took place during an ACAB seminar at the West Asheville Library.

Officers responded to a fight in progress at around 3 p.m. at the library where approximately 80 to 100 people were attending a seminar called “Strategic Lessons From Palestinian Resistance.”

When officers arrived, they said that they saw a crowd dispersing. They identified three victims: David Moritz, Monica Buckley and Bob Campbell.

Moritz and Buckley, who are Jewish, said that they wanted to attend the event to learn more about what was being taught in their community.

(Jerusalem Post) A Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) book will be taught at a Brooklyn community center on Friday, according to the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network Telegram channel.

Samidoun will host a series of group study events on the PFLP document “Strategy for the Liberation of Palestine.”

The document outlines the organization, philosophies, and strategies of the PFLP, and describes its war objective as being “to destroy the state of Israel as a military, political, and economic establishment.”

The PFLP is a designated terrorist organization by the US State Department, yet, they are operating on US soil. People are teaching their terrorism.

Antisemitism like what apparently just happened in Asheville is unacceptable in any form. We have to make our state a place that is welcoming to people of all faiths and backgrounds. That’s the North Carolina I know and love – and that’s the North Carolina I’m fighting for.…

Stein is the current AG for NC, and the Democratic candidate for governor. He should probably know about the PFLP designation. But, what’s he going to do about it? It’s all nice and good to make this statement, but, it’s still a rather tepid statement, because, like most Democrats, he needs the votes of the Jew haters.
