YEAAAAA!!! I hate the self-check outs. Yes, they are faster but…..the cameras and the supervising clerks constantly over lording you at the self-checkout feels sooooo intimidating at Costco and Walmart. I went from going to Costco down to once a month due to the crowds and ID checking at the self-serve station (one clerk literally put her hand out onto the screen monitor preventing me from scanning my items) til she made sure I knew about others without ID trying to buy from them. Also, Costco really was pushing aggressively their card renewal to upcharge your membership card to get their cash back rewards. They were telling me how much I have spent over the last year “according to the screen”. The 2nd clerk her sale tactics were so intimidating it literally made me feel like never coming back. Yes, two clerks pushing at the same time at the register while the 3rd was boxing items. Costco is not my store…just a place I go for specific items (110-150.00 a month at most) then get out of the store as fast as I can before getting accosted with hard sales tactics by their clerks. Their parking lot is a whole other stress!
