IDF Soldiers Can Be Rescued In Rafah Operations?

KAN TV news reported tonight that COS Brown Jr. told COS Halevi that the USA
demands Israel put Rafah under siege and only enter Rafah in pinpoint
special operations.

Each individual special operation is to be approved by Americans stationed
in a joint Israel-USA command center.

For each operation Israel will be required to provide evidence which
convinces the Americans that the operation is both justified and meets
American standards regarding endangering Gazan civilians.

The report did not address If this Americans veto also would apply in the
event of an operation which goes sour.

That is to say: it would appear that under this arrangement, the
implementation of the rescue of Israeli forces in the event that an
operation goes wrong would be delayed until the Americans approve the
operation, with the Americans having the option to decide that the Israelis
should not be rescued.
