The 'Messiah' Comes In Every Generation."
According to R. Glazerson, a person who can be the ‘messiah’ comes in every generation:
OK. Fine.
So, let’s say that one of these ‘messiahs’ receives a Prophecy from the Creator that Jerusalem will be destroyed by Roman armies and that the Jews remaining alive will be taken into slavery and scattered to the four corners of the earth.
Do the rabbis have any responsibility to acknowledge those Prophecies and warn other Jews of the coming destruction?
Answer:
Of course not.
After all, that ‘messiah’ will come again in the next generation, and the rabbis who are alive at that time will have to decide whether to acknowledge that he is the ‘messiah’ or not, and whether other Jews should be informed of any so-called ‘Prophecies’ that he may or may not have received during that life.
(But…but…but…
What about the lives that are lost because the Prophecies received by that ‘messiah’ are ignored by the rabbis and the remaining Jews never receive the warning?
Well, obviously, those lives are, comparatively, of less importance than that the rabbis retain their freedom of action in determining whether this or that person should, in fact, be acknowledged as the ‘messiah’ of that generation in the first place. Duhhhhhhh….)
Or let’s say that one of these ‘messiahs’ has received a Revelation from the Creator that even the Pharisees have NO Knowledge of the Revelation and Doctrine of “the resurrection”.
Do the rabbis then have ANY responsibility to listen to those words?
Deuteronomy 18:18-20 notwithstanding…
Of course not.
After all, if it is really a Revelation from the Creator that the rabbis are in error about the Doctrine of “the resurrection”—although, of course, this is so highly unlikely as to be well nigh impossible—the ‘messiah’ of the next generation will repeat that Truth.
In other words: What’s the rush?
After all, Truth is eternal.
In other words, what is really important is NOT acknowledging any particular Truth today; but merely believing that ONE day the Truth will be acknowledged; perhaps in the far-distant future.
Or let’s say that another one of these ‘messiahs’—apparently, there have been at least dozens if not hundreds of them; in other words, the coming of any one of these ‘messiahs’ is among the most trivial occurrences in all of human history (since his arrival can be eternally ignored by the rabbis)—repeats the assertion that the Doctrine of “the resurrection” is based upon the Revelation of the memories of previous lives; and, thus, that the rabbis of today ALSO have NO Knowledge that the Doctrine of “the resurrection” is a Doctrine of ‘Rebirth’.
Do the rabbis of today have ANY responsibility to LISTEN to those words?
Once again, the words of Moses and the Revelations in the Torah can safely be ignored:
Of course not.
After all, they need to make a living…
With regards to which any acknowledgement that they are in error about “the resurrection” would be at least an ‘inconvenient’ complication to that goal.
And, if this ‘messiah’ also receives a Prophecy of a coming destruction, described by the prophet Daniel as a “time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation…”, emerging out of a conflict between the “king of the South” United States and its allies and the “king of the North” Russia and its allies (Chapter 11, verse 40-45 of the Book of Daniel), do the rabbis have ANY responsibility WHATSOEVER of informing other Jews of that Prophecy?
Of course not.
(Are you beginning to get the picture yet? The rabbis are not responsible for ANYTHING except making a living; or, maybe, making themselves RICH.)
After all, they won’t be able to tell whether the Prophecy is the Truth until only after it is fulfilled.
In any case, how does R. Glazerson ‘explain’ the fact that the ‘messiah’ of this generation has not yet been acknowledged as the ‘messiah’?
Well, first of all, it is NOT because the rabbis are unwilling to acknowledge that they are wrong about the Doctrine of “the resurrection”.
(That is emphatically NOT the reason for preventing the acknowledgement or arrival of the ‘messiah’ of this generation.)
NOR is it because the most important thing to the rabbis—perish the thought—is retaining their own POWER and WEALTH.
On the contrary, the ‘messiah’ of this generation has not yet been acknowledged as the ‘messiah’ ONLY because there have been “gay pride” parades in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, or ONLY because too many secular Jews are desecrating the Sabbath, or ONLY because too many religious Jews do not perform enough “mitzvot”, or ONLY because not enough religious Jews do not perform enough religious rituals.
In other words, of all of the people on the face of the earth, those LEAST responsible for preventing the acknowledgement or arrival of the ‘messiah’ of this generation—in other words, the HOLIEST and MOST ‘Chosen’ people of ALL Chosen people on the face of the earth—is the rabbis themselves…
A situation that can be expected to continue into the eternally foreseeable future.
But, not to worry.
After all, the ‘messiah’ of the next generation will soon arrive.
The most important point being NOT the arrival of that ‘messiah’; but, rather, that there still be rabbis around with the ability to decide to ignore that arrival until yet the next generation, and the one after that…
For ever and for ever and for ever.
