Joint Director Inspects Animal Health Camp In Kommarluru Village

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Emphasising livestock health, welfare, and scientific animal husbandry practices, District Animal Husbandry Officer (DAHO/Joint Director) Dr. NA Srinivasulu made a surprise visit to Kommarluru village in Khajipet mandal on Tuesday as part of the animal health camp.


  • Focus on livestock health and deworming

During the visit, Dr. Srinivasulu highlighted the importance of the animal health camp initiative in ensuring animal welfare and improving farmers’ livelihoods. He stressed regular deworming of calves, sheep, and goats as a crucial step for maintaining animal health and productivity.

  • Feed and fodder for sustainable animal rearing

The DAHO explained the need for systematic feed and fodder production to ensure balanced nutrition for livestock. He urged farmers to adopt improved feeding practices to enhance milk yield and overall animal well-being.

  • Artificial insemination for better breeds

Highlighting scientific breeding methods, Dr. Srinivasulu underlined the importance of artificial insemination for all milk-producing animals. He noted that the service is available at a very low cost and plays a key role in producing healthier calves and improving farmers’ economic returns.

  • Animal welfare and wildlife protection

The DAHO also called for compassion towards animals, urging villagers to protect wildlife, care for street dogs, and ensure humane treatment through proper feeding and minimal custodial care. He emphasised protecting calves through adequate nutrition and timely veterinary services.

  • Local representatives and officials participate

The programme was attended by Kommarluru village President P Aadinarayana Reddy, Veterinary Doctor Dr. M Lakshmaiah (VD, Eturu), Animal Husbandry Assistants C Manoj and T Ravi Kumar, KMRI R Suchithra, and Village Level Officer D Veera Nagalakshmi, along with local farmers and livestock owners.
