Animal Health Camp Brings Free Veterinary Services To B Kothapalli

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Free veterinary services were provided to livestock owners at B Kothapalli village in Khajipet mandal on Wednesday as part of the Animal Health Camps (Pasu Arogya Shibiraalu), aimed at improving animal welfare and enhancing rural livelihoods.

Extensive treatment and deworming drive

Veterinary Officer Dr. Mesa Laxmaiah from the Eturu Veterinary Hospital led the camp, where treatment was administered for 37 cases of uterine diseases in cows and buffaloes. Deworming and oral medication were provided to 230 calves to ensure healthy growth. In addition, 1,347 sheep and goats received oral medication as part of preventive healthcare measures.

Awareness on animal welfare and protection

As part of the animal (protection) welfare fortnight, scheduled from January 14 to January 30, 2026, villagers were informed about the need to protect wild animals and care for stray dogs. Officials conveyed that these measures are in line with Government of India guidelines and called upon citizens to take collective responsibility.

Focus on fodder development and milk production

The veterinary team also advised farmers on developing fodder resources in every village to ensure balanced nutrition for livestock and to enhance milk production through scientific feeding practices.

Local participation

The programme was inaugurated by Village Panchayat Sarpanch Gangi Reddy Nagi Reddy. Among those who participated were D Veera Nagalakshmi, T Ravikumar, Kumari, Redderi Suchitra, C Manoj Kumar, N Manasa, Kumari (Miduturu) Dasari Ganga Raju, and veterinary staff from the department, along with local livestock farmers.
