Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh: Mala Mahanadu (Ramaji Group) National President Immanuel paid floral tributes to Dr. B R Ambedkar at the old bus stand in Proddatur on Wednesday as part of the observance of 76 years of the Indian Constitution. He extended greetings on behalf of the organisation and urged citizens to uphold constitutional values with sincerity.

Concerns over dilution of SC/ST atrocity cases

Speaking at the event, Immanuel expressed concern that cases filed under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act were being diluted during investigations. He questioned why civil rights meetings were not being conducted regularly by authorities despite legal mandates.

Appeal to authorities and rulers

Immanuel criticised what he described as growing negligence among those in power toward constitutional principles. He alleged that attempts were being made to suppress Dalits, the poor, and weaker sections, and said such actions run contrary to Ambedkar’s vision. He urged officials and political leaders to refrain from discriminatory practices.

Ambedkar’s legacy highlighted

He praised Dr. B. R. Ambedkar for his role in strengthening national unity and drafting the Indian Constitution, saying his work continues to guide India’s democratic and social justice framework.

The program was attended by State Coordinator Mekala Obulesu, Rayalaseema Joint Secretary Ulli Kiran, Rayalaseema General Secretary Suddhapalli Arun Kumar, Kadapa District President Sangati Pullaiah, District Youth President Rama Rao, and members Mekala Yesus Ratnam, Daniel, Pranay, among others.
