FDA warns California seafood firm about repeat violations
As part of its enforcement activities, the Food and Drug Administration sends warning letters to entities under its jurisdiction. Some letters are not posted for public view until weeks or months after they are sent. Business owners have 15 days to respond to FDA warning letters. Warning letters often are not issued until a company has been given months to years to correct problems. Generally, portions of the letters are redacted from public view.

In a Nov. 28 warning letter the Food and Drug Administration discussed its inspection of Harbor Marine Product Inc., a seafood processing facility and importer establishment. The inspection took place from March 5 through March 27, 2025. During the inspection, FDA found evidence of serious violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation, Title 21, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 123 (21 CFR Part 123).
Some violations found during the March 2025 inspection were repeat violations from 2017 and 2020 inspections.
