Start em Sit em Week 12
I knew we’d bounce back strong! After the worst week of the year, possibly the best start/ sit of the year. Devin Singletary put on an absolute show against the Cardinals, compiling 112 rushing yards on 22 attempts and adding 2 catches for 6 yards while finding the end zone (19.8 points). He even slightly surpassed by projection for him (17.8 points) and if you recall at the time of writing this article last week we did not know the stats of Dameon Pierce. If Singletary didn’t already have a stranglehold on this backfield well he certainly does now. I love Singletary going forward as a sneaky league winning type of player on what is one of the best emerging offenses in the NFL.
George Pickens, who I chose as my sit of the week also had a very disappointing day for fantasy owners. Pickens had 4 catches for 38 yards on 6 targets (7.8 points) while facing the Browns in an absolute clunker of a game in which the Browns won 13-10 on a last second field goal. He slightly out performed my projection for him of 5.4 points but was still a strong sit if you listened. One of my points of emphasis in sitting Pickens this week, aside from Pickett being bad and being so run heavy, was what Vegas told us with the over under sitting at just 33 points. Very often do these extremely low totals go even lower than the Vegas under which is why they’re games to typically avoid for fantasy purposes honestly your options are limited or the player is a complete stud. Not much offense was produced outside of Jaylen Warren’s big run. Ford and Njoku had decent games but you get the point- less projected points scored usually less points for most fantasy players in that given game. Let’s keep it rolling into week 12!
Week 12 Start ’em Isiah Pacheco – Chiefs RB
Isiah Pacheco had an awful matchup last week against Philly’s stout defensive line. Now this is where you can’t lose look at box scores and fantasy points solely. Yes, Pacheco has just 10.1 points but he did have 19 carries for 89 yards and was running like he wanted to hurt someone. As the game progressed in the second half the Eagles did do a better job on him but it seemed as if they did get away from the run a little too much after his dominating first half. Pacheco is simply the most consistent thing on this offense right now. I would say even more consistent then Travis Kelce and this passing attack has been. There have been so many drops by this Chiefs reeving core, in fact, they lead the NFL with 26 drops 6 more than the second most team, my sad sad NY Jets. I’m not saying the Chiefs should only run the ball but when Pacheco bets the ball he simply produces. Especially when you consider in the red zone the Chiefs had two turnovers; a fumble by Travis Kelce and a bad interception by Patty Mahomes.
The matchup is just another reason for why I like this spot for Pacheco so much. If Pacheco is going to run like he did versus Philly against the Raiders this week it’s going to be a long day for them Sunday. The Raiders rank just 29th against the run and although they are playing inspired football under new interim Head Coach Antonio PIerce they still leave a lot to be desired on the defensive side of the ball. Let us also consider that the Chiefs are 9.5 point favorites which should lead to a positive game script for Pacheco and running the ball. If they have the lead I anticipate them to run the rock and keep the clock moving. No reason to throw the ball and let these receivers juggle the ball like the clowns that they’ve been this year. Just good ole fashioned smash mouth football until this passing attack gets more consistency. You guys had that on your bingo card for the Chiefs right ? Running the ball and great defense- right ?? I think Pacheco will end up being a low RB1 this week.
Isiah Pacheco Week 12 Projection: 21 carries for 106 yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 3 catches on 3 targets for 21 yards (21.7 points)

Week 12 Sit ’em Geno Smith – Seahawks QB
I don’t know about you but watching Geno Smith and the Seahawks offense this year something doesn’t feel quite right. You look at this RB room and WR core and this offense should in theory be clicking on all cylinders and there just hasn’t been much consistency week to week. I think a large part of it could be due to the Seahawks losing their QB coach who has helped Baker Mayfield rejuvenate his career this year as well. But I also think it’s because Geno Smith isn’t very good. Geno has topped 20 fantasy points just 2 times this year and has 13 touchdowns to 7 picks on the year. Yeah that’s not horrible but it’s not great either considering he has JSN, DK, and Lockett all at his disposal. Geno is currently battling an elbow injury that took him out of a large part of the Rams game last week, one in which he came back in for on the very last drive. It sounds like Geno is going to give it a go but everything that I’ve read and common sense tells me that this will negatively affect his ability to push the ball down the field.
A hampered Geno on a short week against this revitalized Niners defense is not something that I exactly want to sign up for. Ever since the Niners have acquired Chase Young they are looking like a wrecking ball on defense. It has presented quite the challenge for offensive lines to attempt to block both he and Nick Bosa. They are now pressuring the QB as they have 9 sacks over their last two games and have a combined 3 interceptions in those games. This looks like it will be a complete disaster in the making for Seattle and Geno who will also be without star RB Ken Walker. The only way I would consider starting him is if it’s a 2 QB league but other then that I would absolutely sit Geno and not think twice about it. There is also a decent chance he doesn’t finish this game if he reinjures it or the game gets away from them which it very well could.
Geno Smith Week 12 Projection: 17 for 36 for 212 yards 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions, 3 rushing attempts for 8 yards (9.28 points)
