Start em Sit em Week 11
One of the worst start/sit articles of the year results wise. I really believed DeAndre Hopkins was primed for a huge week with the matchup against Tampa and Levis’ willingness to take chances down the field. Especially being how many targets he had garnered in previous weeks it looked like Levis was starting to figure it out. Hopkins saw 8 targets and caught just 3 of them for 27 yards (5.7 points)- an absolute bust if I’ve ever seen one. Levis himself threw for less than 200 yards while completing less than 50 % of his passes and was sacked 4 times. The Buc’s defense was able to pressure Levis so there was not much down the field and Levis was wildly inaccurate. What I get for trusting a rookie QB I suppose.
The sit of the week, Davante Adams, got off to an amazing start and it was pretty clear that O’Connell was doing everything possible to get his star receiver the ball as much as possible. The Raiders did not have much success on the ground early and chose to establish Adams instead. Adams caught 6 of 13 balls thrown his way for 86 yards (14.6 points) with 5 of them coming in the first half. It’s not a major miss being that I projected him for a little under 9 points but definitely not a good sit either. At least for Adams owners we saw some signs of life both in yards, targets and an overall commitment from the rookie QB to get him the ball. Adams should have many opportunities next week in a game against the Dolphins where the game scrhipt should lead to a heavy dependence on throwing the ball. Let us rebound this week!
Week 11 Start ’em Devin Singletary – Texans RB
We are going to continue to be ballsy and take chances. Yes, last week was not my best by any stretch but I’m not going to cower in fear cuz of one bad week and give you guys super chalky and boring start/sits. That would defeat the purposes of the whole segment. You are hopefully reading for advice of course but also a different perspective. This week we’re going with Devin Singeltary as our start of the week. Now I am aware that Singeltary is probably the least sexy name in fantasy nor the name you expected to hear. But I am fairly confident that Singletary just stole the jobs from second year running back Dameon PIerce. After having a really good rookie year Pierce has been absolutely dreadful for the Texans this year averaging a meager 3 yards per carry just 9 receptions and one lone touchdown. Singletar has been much better than his public perception and in his first four full seasons has averaged at least 4.4 yards a carry in every season. While he does stand below that number this year he is coming off a monster 30 carry 150 yard rushing game while finding pay dirt.
Pierce of course has been out in recent weeks and has allowed for this uptick in rushing work for Singletary. As I write this article on Wednesday night I am not sure if Pierce will be back but quite simply I do not care. The Texans have been doing everything right this year and would be crazy to not give Singletary the lion’s share of carries. In years past the RB for the Texans has not been a desired fantasy position post Deshaun Watson. However, with CJ Stroud at the helm this stands to be one of the better offenses in the NFL and a starting and effective RB for the Texans is someone I want. Not to mention the matchup this week in the Arizona Cardinals who give up the third most points to opposing RB’s. I love how Singeltary is running and making the most of his opportunity on a great offense and I could quite frankly give two shits if he’s not a big or sexy name. Fire up Singletary as an RB2/ flex play this week.

Week 11 Sit ’em George Pickens – Steelers WR
For our sit of the week we are going to go over to the game with one of the lowest totals we have seen in some time. No it’s not a game involving the Jets. But this time the Steelers at the Browns in a game where Deshaun Watson will not play in as he will be out for the year with shoulder surgery. I enjoy using totals both player props and team totals to our advantage when it comes to fantasy. The total in this one is a disgusting 33 points and if you can try not to start too many players in this what should be a very low scoring game. We could go a few different directions here such as Browns pass catchers with no Watson but I’ve got my eyes on George Pickens. PIckens is the next diva WR in the NFL only thing is he doesn’t have the production many of the greats have. Pickens had a pretty nice start to the year as DIontae Johnson missed 4 weeks and there were quite simply not many playmakers for the Steelers. Pickens is a receiver who often pushes off and fails to separate routinely but will make one or two acrobatic highlight reel catches. He is also great in space with the ball in his hands as we saw him take one to the house in the first matchup between these two.
Over the last three weeks Pickens has really cooled off and has failed to reach double digits in any game and has garnered just 14 targets in those games combined. He has topped over 40 yards just one time (45 last week) and the Steelers don’t seem like they want Pickett throwing the ball much at all . Pickett has thrown the ball over 30 times just twice this year and threw it just 23 times last week. This is in large part due to the increased success the Steelers have had on the ground with the duo of Warren and Harris. Having rushed for over 160 yards last week, the Steelers want to run the ball and control the clock, play great defense and have Pickett make a few clutch plays late as needed which he has been able to do. It’s a simple and effective formula; it just isn’t good for pass catchers on the Steelers. Personally I do believe Diontae Johnson is the 1 on the Steelers but even if you don’t the Browns are giving up the third least fantasy points to opposing WR’s. There are definitely better options than Pickens this week on better offenses, with better QB’s, in games with much higher totals. I strongly advise to bench Pickens and look elsewhere.
