This is Gus, my sister and brother-in-law’s latest acquisition,” writes Bev, in Parksville. “Gus can be a holy terror racing around the house when he wants attention or is told ‘No’.   They never know where they will find him. “Reading your blog this morning (as I always do and have done for many years), I thought my 12 year old Jack Russell, Stella, suitably attired in Christmas robes, with a slightly knowing smile might be the perfect subject for you,” writes Kevin. “As a MSU, I remember a column you wrote for a Page 3 Newspaper in Toronto back in the mid 70’s discussing the benefits of owning a four-plex and renting out the other 3 units.(Is it even possible that we are that old????) (Must be 2 other guys). Should Stella not make the Christmas selection please feel free to use her photo as you wish. All the Best, and a Very Merry Christmas to your family and colleagues.”

“Here’s a pic of Afrika, long gone now, but never forgotten,” writes Heather in South Surrey. “She loved Christmas and was incredibly adept at opening her presents and everybody else’s.  Love your free daily blog, and appreciate all the time and effort you must put into researching and writing it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Dorothy, Cody, your guest bloggers and all the blog dogs.”

Cody this Christmas morning outside his fav hangout – the Stagecoach Restaurant. It’s closed today, but the staff left a red stocking on the door handle, embroidered with ‘WOOF’ and full of treat bags for the dogs of the hood. How is this not a wonderful world to be in?
