Trump is showing tactical sophistication rather than acting like a Pavlovian dog. Iran isn’t willing to give in to US pressure, and is therefore resigned to war in order to save face, make America pay dearly for the trouble, and ultimately find resolution for lifting the sanctions in the aftermath of war. Iran has no choice but to submit or suffer. In choosing suffering, Iran will seek to make America suffer as much as possible for its hard fought objectives. Iran has to submit or go to war, or else the hardship will lead to rebellion and endanger the current regime. Iran will therefore try to initiate war in a way that makes America appear as villainous as possible. Iran will attack America and her allies while attempting to make it appear like American false flags.
If Trump really wants to avoid war and achieve regional and world security, he must publicly and openly offer Iran face-saving and tempting ways out of sanctions while preserving demands for curbing Iran’s nuke and ICBM ambitions. It should be clear to Iran that even following the end of a war, sanctions will remain in place until these curbs are met. Trump must also provide a clear and credible way out of sanctions. It is time for Trump to publicly make diplomatic offers to Iran even if Iran will not listen. These must be offers the whole world can reasonably accept, thereby increasing pressure on Iran.
Iran should be a part of the, “Ultimate Peace Plan,” and have a seat at the table. At the very least, Iran needs to be a rider attached to the plan. A comprehensive plan should include an ending to the war in Yemen, peace terms with SA, peace terms with Israel, and a resolution to the Syrian crisis with all involved parties. Perhaps the looming catastrophe with Iran could motivate Russia and America to find peaceful agreement in Syria so that Iranian forces and other enemies to Israel do not use Syrian territory to pose a threat.
A regional diplomatic organization between Mideast states and other interested parties needs to be created. It should not have any teeth, as no nation could trust such an organization, but it would merely be a council for airing grievances and seeking solutions. Trump could publicly lay out these options. He could even create an international body to construct a diplomatic package with similar measures that virtually the whole world agrees on.
There has to be a clear road to provide relief to Iran without compromising world security, otherwise war is inevitable. There are risks that a peace could lead to changing alliances such as SA and Iran teaming up against the US, or an unshackled Iran becoming an economic powerhouse that undermines the Dollar. Defacto US policy has been to destabilize and divide the Mideast in order to control it and prevent a unified powerful region capable of acting independently of US special interests. Trump will have to stand against these special interest if he is truly bent on peace.

Trump made a great call, it was an expensive drone not lives lost. Surely his reaction would have been different if Iran did what they said they were planning and that is take down a plane we had over there with 35 people on it. I am very happy with his decision to not give the war Mongers- Military Industrial Complex their”war” to get rich, which they, the elite do and is why they always instigate war for profit at the expense of lives plus it is more sacrifices to their Baal god for more favor.
