Sir James Wilson Vincent “Jimmy” Savile, OBE, KCSG (/ˈsævəl/, /ˈsævɪl/; 31 October 1926 – 29 October 2011) was an English DJ, television and radio personality, dance hall manager, and charity fundraiser. He hosted the BBC television show Jim’ll Fix It, was the first and last presenter of the long-running BBC music chart show Top of the Pops and raised an estimated £40 million for charities. At the time of his death, he was widely praised for his personal qualities and as a fund-raiser. After his death, hundreds of allegations of sexual abuse were made against him, leading the police to believe that Savile was a predatory sex offender possibly one of Britain’s most prolific. There had been allegations during his lifetime, but they were dismissed and accusers ignored or disbelieved; Savile took legal action against some accusers.

 

Veteran BBC presenter Bill Oddie has blown the lid on the ‘Mystery-Royal’ that protected Jimmy Savile throughout his sickening and perverted life of abuse.

 

Speaking after a question and answer session with students of Cambridge University’s historic debating society, Bill Oddie said “Whether there is somewhere in Britain, some sort of censorship committee that we don’t know about that suppresses these things and somebody gets together in a room and says ‘come on he was a friend of Prince Charles, it would look awfully bad on Prince Charles if we said he was a bit of a perv’.

 

 

 

Of course, any responsible mother would shield their children from the harshness of life and it isn’t any different in the royal household. Everybody who has regular contact with the royal family would have been well vetted and risk assessed. Of course, the investigation goes deeper on receiving the merit of Knighthood, where-upon MI5 would conduct a more thorough investigation into the recipient’s past, criminal record and personality profile.

 

Bill Oldie ‘plants’ the Queen in the ‘frame.’

 

In an open and candid interview, Bill Oddie reminds us why he’s such a well-liked TV personality, viewed by many as a national hero.

 

He said, “The establishment or whoever it is decided to keep it all quiet and decided to give him a knighthood. He was, to a certain amount, a friend of royalty.”

 

 

The Prince of Wales was shown around the holiday cottage ‘Glencoe’ in Scotland, which Savile owned and used as his based to abuse up to 20 disabled children, alone and isolated, safe in the knowledge of royal approval and guaranteed security that no one would interrupt him.

Bill Oddie exposes the lies of former director-general of the BBC Mark Thompson by saying “Savile’s antics was well known at the time. The idea that youngsters were prey – everybody knew that.”

 

He said: “It is so extraordinary that there is any sort of mystery – when the ex-head of the BBC Mark Thompson the other day said ‘I don’t know anything about it’.

 

You worked at the BBC and you don’t know anything about it – don’t be ridiculous.”

 

While Bill Oddie is surprised Jimmy Savile wasn’t exposed as a paedophile “years ago,” it makes sense as to why, with the protection and blessing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
