You’ve Chosen to Avoid Learning About the "End Times" – Here’s the FIX You’ve Been Praying to Hear
Posted July 14, 2025 | End Times Watch | River Wilde
It has been my observation recently, when it comes to learning about the end times, many people choose to simply ignore the topic all together. Many don’t want to even talk about how the events of the day align with the prophecies of the New Testament.
After prayerful pondering, I have concluded that the reason that this is happening simply has to do with a person’s lack of faith!
There are those who choose not to deal with the reality of the change that is coming. They are comfortable in this world, and find it easier to just think of living the life that they know. They have “stuck their head in the sand” if you will. Pretenders that everything is as it used to be.
I can certainly agree that thinking about the end times can produce anxiety, worry, and a feeling of doom for some. Perhaps it’s common nature to avoid things that result in these emotions being displayed when thinking of end times.
However, I find it quite telling that God wanted us to know all of the details of the end times, why? Because he has given each of these details to us in the scripture writings. There is a purpose of Him wanting us to understand the events of what’s coming.
So, where does faith enter this equation? How can having faith resolve this anxiety and worry? Let’s try to find this answer.
Faith Begins with Hearing the Word
The Bible makes it clear:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
—Romans 10:17 (KJV)
Well, that’s interesting! Faith begins with hearing the word…but hearing the word is what is stressing many people out right now. Perhaps this scripture is referring to hearing God’s word not specific to the end times first…Let’s try that.
🔹 Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
That’s better! This is one of the most well-known verses on trust. It teaches full reliance on God rather than human reasoning. Isn’t it interesting that faith involves the action of trust? Let’s understand this concept further.
God, our FATHER, is telling us to trust Him with all of our hearts, and to stop using our own understanding to play things out in our minds. He is telling us to do this so that He can ”direct our paths.”
The lack of faith here must mean that we might not trust God enough, so we choose not to even think about the end times. But let’s apply this concept, as He is inviting us to do, and see if that changes things.
“God, I trust you with all of my heart. There have been so many other times in my life when I felt danger or uncertainty, and you were there to see me through, giving me comfort and strength. When I think of the end times, I become afraid and uncertain, but I will not rely on my own understanding for I give you full authority of my life to guide my paths. I will have faith, and trust that you will see me through, just as you have done my entire life.”
On a personal level, I can say that I trusted my dad to no end! Out of all people on earth, I could always trust my dad with everything. I also had this sense that my dad would always protect our family, and be the person to lead us through the challenges of life. This was the case with my own father.
I look at my “Heavenly Father” in the same manner. We are His children, and He has the intentions of seeing us through, if we will just trust him…have faith in Him, and let Him guide us through…Don’t be the one on the front of your bike steering. We need God in that seat, with us on the back of the bike dedicated to peddling.
Let’s continue learning about trust and faith.
🔹 Psalm 37:3-5
“Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
I love this scripture because it is so very telling to me. “Trust in the Lord…thou shall be fed.” As I listen with my spiritual ears, being fed in this scripture might not be referring to food, but rather, the things that we need at the time: Information, knowledge, comfort, etc.
Something else that is telling here is that we are encouraged to “Delight ourselves.” In pondering the meaning of this, I think that you will come to know that God doesn’t expect our lives, and certainly the end times to be “terrible” emotionally. He is encouraging us to find delight in this season of time. But how can we do this?
I think that I’ve already answered that question with the information above. Can you just imagine riding a bike with God? Just the two of you, riding down a shady path in the beautiful countryside. God is driving, and you on the back just along for the ride. There is joy in this image, and there is joy in this circumstance.
You are fully aware that God knows the way. He is alert and has great intent in missing the potholes. He knows that there might be danger ahead, but you have come to trust that He always knows the best way to get us through. Secret short cuts, or roads that don’t exist on a map. I feel the joy in being with Him. I find the comfort in trusting Him for He is all knowing. And throughout the ride, I find Delight and Joy in knowing that my Father is aware of me and my circumstances at all times, and has the answers.
Isaiah 26:3-4
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.”
Trusting God brings peace. His strength never fails.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters… and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”
Those who trust in God are compared to a deeply rooted tree, strong and fruitful even in hard times.
Psalm 56:3-4
“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.”
This scripture is speaking to you…I know that it is. Much of our fear regarding the end times has to do with this very fact; being afraid of what others might do to you or your family. It appears that God is already ahead of us with this worry, as he provided this writing for us.
Think back in the bible experiences, which have also been given for us to have a greater understanding of this concept. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt fleeing from slavery. As they began their exit, the King changed his mind and ordered his army to hunt down the Israelites and kill them. (Do you remember this story?)
Moses and his followers found themselves at a dead end, up against the banks of the Red Sea. Trapped! “I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” “I will lean not to my own understanding.” And then God’s blessing happened. The sea parted, and they were all led to safety. I’m certain that there wasn’t a person in that entire group who would have called that type of ending. “I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” “I will lean not to my own understanding.”
Psalm 23 (KJV)
A Psalm of David.
- The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
- He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
- He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
- Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
- Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
- Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
So, now we have fulfilled the first principle of having Faith:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
—Romans 10:17 (KJV)
Our loving Father has shared with us, these words of comfort. Now it is up to us to trust Him, and have faith in these words.
I have one last principle to share with you. Many of us have chosen not to think about the true prize that lies ahead for all who follow Christ…Heaven!
Heaven is the place of perfect joy, peace, and love—where every tear is wiped away and sorrow is no more. In the presence of God, there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore (Psalm 16:11). The saints are reunited with loved ones, clothed in righteousness, and free from sin, pain, and death.
The glory of God shines brighter than the sun, and the redeemed worship Him endlessly with pure hearts, beholding the face of Jesus Christ, their Savior. There is no more night, fear, or separation—only everlasting joy with God and one another in a place of unimaginable beauty and peace.
Our death from this world is the “Simple Turning of a Page.” At this moment, if we do have to face death, God will comfort us followed by opening the door into our next life…to be with Him in a glorious new place..Heaven.
I think of this often, and my thoughts certainly do not indicate what will happen in your life. But I keep thinking that Christ died for me, and that I will gladly die for Him. If my journey is such that I will be put to death by the evil of this world because I worship Him, I will know that He will be with me to the very end…protecting me “emotionally” through the process of death. And then, I will immediately be with Him in such an awesome place. There is great comfort to me in this thinking, which would be the most challenging.
It is my belief that most followers of Christ will be raptured, rather than face death during the end times. A glorious changing of our bodies as we are lifted up in the air to be with Him “forever”. You can find such great comfort in knowing that this is the plan that He has for you. This is the “Secret shortcut” that He has planned for you.
I invite you to break down the fearful barrier which keeps you from learning about the end times. Trust God as you study His words. Have faith in the plan that he has for all of us, and then…Let us have JOY in knowing that we are under the guiding hand of our God, and that He will see us through.
There is Peace in Christ!
