Is the UN Two-State Peace Plan Setting the Stage for the 7-Year Covenant in Bible Prophecy? This Deserves a Look

On July 28–29, 2025, world leaders gathered at the United Nations in New York for the International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. This high-level ministerial conference—co-hosted by France and Saudi Arabia—was originally scheduled for June but postponed to late July. The stated goal was clear: to chart a roadmap for Palestinian statehood, disarm Hamas, and revive political momentum toward a lasting peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

Global Push for Peace

The conference drew ministers from multiple nations, symbolizing a growing international consensus that a two-state solution is the only viable path to end decades of conflict. Discussions included:

• Establishing a sovereign Palestinian state
• Addressing Israeli security concerns
• International guarantees for cease-fires and humanitarian aid
• Pressure on Hamas to disarm and cede control of Gaza

This is not a one-time effort. In September 2025, during the UN General Assembly, nations like France, the UK, and Canada are planning to recognize a Palestinian state unless Israel makes significant concessions. The diplomatic momentum is building rapidly—and prophetically, many are asking: Could this be leading to the covenant described in Daniel 9:27?

The 7-Year Covenant in Bible Prophecy

The Book of Daniel (KJV) foretells a dramatic peace agreement that will mark the start of the Tribulation period:

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…”

• The “one week” is understood as seven years.
• The agreement will involve “many” nations, not just Israel and Palestine.
• It will seemingly bring peace and security but will be deceptive, broken halfway through by the Antichrist.
• This betrayal will lead to the Abomination of Desolation in the rebuilt Jewish Temple, ushering in the final Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:15, 21).

Are We Seeing the Stage Being Set?

The July UN conference and upcoming September meetings fit several prophetic patterns:

• International Involvement: The covenant is with “many.” Current talks involve not just Israel and Palestine but Europe, Arab nations, and the broader UN.
• Promise of Peace: Global leaders are calling for “peace and safety,” aligning with 1 Thessalonians 5:3:

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them…”

• Political Momentum: Recognition of Palestinian statehood by multiple nations could pave the way for a more formal, comprehensive 7-year peace treaty.

While this current plan is not yet the prophesied covenant, it’s easy to see how a future world leader could step in to finalize and “confirm” such a treaty, possibly including:

• Land agreements and final borders
• Shared or divided Jerusalem
• Rebuilding of the Jewish Temple, allowing sacrifices to resume
• Security guarantees enforced by international powers

From Diplomacy to Prophecy

The Bible warns that in the last days; a deceptive peace will precede global chaos:

• First 3½ Years: A false sense of peace as the covenant holds (Revelation 6:2 – the white horse).
• Midpoint: The Antichrist breaks the treaty, desecrates the temple (Daniel 9:27), and the world plunges into the Great Tribulation.
• End of 7 Years: Jesus Christ returns in power and glory to establish His kingdom (Revelation 19).

Our Response

As world leaders push harder for a two-state solution and the groundwork for a multi-nation peace accord strengthens, believers should:

• Stay watchful – Jesus said to discern the signs of the times (Matthew 24:33).
• Share the Gospel – Point others to the true Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.
• Trust in God’s Plan – No political treaty will bring lasting peace; only Christ will.

Final Thought: The July 2025 UN conference and upcoming September diplomatic moves may not yet be the final 7-year covenant. However, they unmistakably move the world closer to the exact scenario Daniel foresaw over 2,500 years ago—a peace agreement “with many,” leading to the most pivotal seven years in human history.
