Deceived by My Church for So Many Years — Why Would God Allow This to Happen? The Answer Will Surprise You.
Posted June 8, 2025 | End Times Watch
(These writings are entirely my own opinion, obtained through independent study and prayerful research. I do not speak on behalf of any church or church representative.)
I spent years faithfully serving, believing, sacrificing, and striving—only to one day realize: I had been deceived. The church I trusted, the leaders I followed, the doctrines I defended… they weren’t what I thought. And the question that hit me the hardest was this:
“Why would God allow this to happen?”
It’s a painful and confusing question, especially when your devotion was real. If you’re reading this and you’ve experienced something similar, you know what I mean. It feels like betrayal—not just by man, but by God Himself. How could He let me walk in spiritual blindness for so long?
Let me share what I’ve come to understand, through prayer, Scripture, and a broken but honest heart.
First, I had to ask myself a difficult question: Would I have had it any other way? Do I wish I had been part of a different church throughout my life?
The surprising answer is… No. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
Does that sound confusing? Let me explain.
You won’t find a better group of people than the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I can honestly pick them out of a crowd at the airport. You can see the light in their countenance. They strive to live lives that reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ. It shows in their kindness, their integrity, and the love they have for others.
As a youth, I benefited greatly from the programs and activities the Church offered. They kept me engaged, helped me feel connected, and taught me values that kept me out of trouble. The Church taught me how to serve and how to love others. Because of that upbringing, I was able to dedicate two years of my life to serving a mission. That experience gave me some of the most valuable life lessons I could have ever received. On my mission, I grew closer to my Savior and came to understand how the Atonement can truly change lives.
I was given the opportunity to teach others about Christ and to serve in many different callings within the Church. I saw others as extended family and found deep joy in the fellowship of people I genuinely cared about.
So perhaps a better question is this: Why would God want to remove me from such an organization that was such a big part of my spiritual life?
The answer is—He wouldn’t.
So how can I say something like, “Why didn’t God tell me I was in the wrong religion?”
Over the past two years, through deep study and prayer, I’ve come to learn that no religion should proclaim itself to be the one true Church. All churches have flaws, inconsistencies, and human influence. They are institutions built by men and shaped by mortal priorities and pressures.
In their development, many churches are also guided by attorneys to reduce legal liability—leading to policies that are more focused on protection from earthly consequences than on following Christ’s example.
Despite its flaws and the untruths, I discovered, I still believe The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one of the best churches a person can belong to. If all churches are imperfect, I cannot expect any one of them to be flawless. This realization was hard for me, as I had been conditioned to believe that my church was perfect, teaching perfect doctrine. So, when I saw the cracks—when I uncovered the deception—it felt like my whole world collapsed.
There’s a saying I’ve heard repeated by members and leaders of the LDS Church:
“Even if the Church isn’t true, there’s no better way to live.”
While this isn’t an official doctrine, it’s often used to affirm the value of the LDS lifestyle—its moral structure, sense of community, and overall goodness—regardless of the Church’s truth claims.
Here are a few voices that have echoed this sentiment:
Boyd K. Packer
Elder Packer taught that living the gospel brings blessings, even amid intellectual doubt. He emphasized that faith bears fruit, and that those fruits validate belief through personal experience.
Richard L. Bushman (Historian and LDS Scholar)
Bushman has noted that the Church provides cultural richness and a solid moral framework. He once said:
“The Church works. It produces good people. It fosters community. It gives people purpose. That is worth something, even if you’re unsure of all the truth claims.”
I Now Know Why God Allowed Me to Belong to My Church for So Long
I now understand why God allowed me to belong to my church for so many years—even though some of its teachings were not true. I get it. And instead of blaming God for not revealing it to me sooner, I give Him praise and glory for allowing me to spend a large portion of my life surrounded by so many good people.
I’ve also come to understand the answer to the question, “Why now?” Why am I discovering all of these false teachings at this point in my life? Wouldn’t it have been easier to simply live out my days in that church, believing what I had always been taught?
To answer that, we must acknowledge a major event that is soon to take place. We are now standing at the threshold of the 7-year Tribulation Period—the final chapter of this mortal world. Understanding what’s coming gives us insight into why God is exposing the untruths of some religions now.
When the 7-year Tribulation begins, a one-world religion will quickly emerge under the rule of the False Prophet and the Antichrist. Many—if not all—churches will unite under this new global faith. No church will be able to function independently without joining it and accepting the Mark of the Beast. If your church chooses to follow that path, that will be the time to sever your relationship with it. This is the warning your loving Father in Heaven wants you to hear.
Until now, belonging to my church brought many positive spiritual experiences. God didn’t expose the untruths earlier because it truly was the best spiritual environment for me during that season of my life. But now He is showing me those untruths—not to hurt me, but to prepare me. He wants me to understand that my church has not always been honest, and that it may continue to deceive me in ways that could endanger my spiritual destiny and separate me from God’s presence.
NOW He is giving you the warning. Are you listening? Or are you harboring resentment, wondering why He didn’t open your eyes sooner? Do not entertain this destructive emotion any longer. He is giving you the exact warning NOW that you have been wanting.
God is protecting you now. It didn’t matter as much in the past, because being part of that church still brought many spiritual blessings. But now… the danger is near.
Let me share something that is important in dealing with this topic of deception. One thing that my church has drilled into all of its members is that we should always follow the Prophet, regardless of your own personal revelation from God. It truly comes down to this one deceptive teaching that could mean weather you survive spiritually or not.
This concept of following in blind faith is not a true teaching that God approves of. He want’s you to follow what HE tells you to do, not what any man who professes to be a prophet would tell you, that goes against His spiritual promptings.
I believe quite strongly that this one church deception will be the cause of many of God’s very elect people to fall, and take the mark of the beast. Please don’t let this happen to you.
All of the pieces are coming together for the people who are studying and staying close to Jesus Christ. We are no longer falling for the deception of religious leaders. Our leader is Jesus Christ, and we are His Church, not any other institution.
There is so much peace in knowing that this is the case. I invite you to take any of the feelings of betrays that you have to God in prayer. Ask Him to validify the truth in these writings, and things will begin to make sense to you as well.
I pray for all of you reading this, that you might see my intent through love in sharing my writings with you. Sometimes it is difficult to work through our emotional experiences, as well as coming to realize that trusted people are capable of deception. This to me, continues to drive me closer to the Savior. My relationship and testimony are in Him, and not a church. The church will be no more when we move into the next phase of our spiritual progression.
Revelation 21:22 (KJV)
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
Explanation:
In the New Jerusalem (heaven), there is no physical temple or church building, because God Himself and Jesus Christ (the Lamb) are the temple. Worship is no longer mediated through institutions or buildings, but is direct and eternal. The “church” as an organized body with buildings and ordinances is for this life—but in heaven, the redeemed are in the very presence of God.
So, while there are no church buildings or organized denominations in heaven, the “church” as the body of believers is very much present—fully united with Christ.

Should be obvious.. Even jesus was said to be approached by the Devil who already ruled the flat earth. This is his realm, the Hell Plane. That is where we are.
This is the gut wrenching truth we’ve been waiting for! 🙏🙏🙏
You are still a prisoner of religion.
A supernatural encounter with the death burial and resurrection of Jesus clears away the religious clutter and puts personal relationship with Jesus ahead of any corporate agenda. Read and apply what Paul the Apostle says is the way.
