The “Tribulation Period” and ONE Global Religion. What will YOUR CHRISTIAN CHURCH Likely Do?

As things begin to develop regarding end-times events, certain questions perhaps not considered, seem to be right before us now, which require some thoughtful perspective.

The concept of one global religion in the last days is a common interpretation among some Bible prophecy teachers, especially those focused on end-time eschatology, though the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible does not explicitly use the phrase “one world religion”. However, several passages are often cited as pointing to this idea.

Here are the key KJV scriptures that many believe suggest a future global false religion during the end times:

🔥 Revelation 17:1–6 – The Great Whore (Mystery Babylon)

“…Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication…”
 

Interpretation: This symbolic “woman” is seen as a false religious system that influences the entire world. She is called “Mystery, Babylon the Great” and is said to be in league with political powers (“kings of the earth”).

• This passage is often connected to the idea of a unified false religion dominating during the last days.

🌍 Revelation 13:4, 8 – Worship of the Beast

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast…”

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him…”

• Interpretation: This shows global religious worship directed at the Beast (the Antichrist), suggesting a centralized religious system where the whole world is spiritually deceived.

🔥 2 Thessalonians 2:3–4 – The Man of Sin

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed…
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped…”
 

Interpretation: The Antichrist sets himself up as god, and people are compelled to worship him, replacing all traditional faiths. This supports the idea of a one-world religious figure or system.

🐉 Revelation 13:11–15 – The False Prophet

“And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast… and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast…”
(Revelation 13:12, KJV)

• Interpretation: A second beast (often called the False Prophet) leads the world into worshiping the first beast. Many believe this is the spiritual leader of the end times, enforcing global religious worship under satanic influence.

So, what about my church? What will they likely do when faced with the decision to join the one world religion?

When Christian churches are confronted with the rise of a one world religion during the end, their responses will likely fall into three main categories:

1. Many Will Compromise and Conform

• Some churches, particularly those already drifting from biblical truth, may embrace unity at the expense of truth.
• They’ll join the global religious movement to avoid persecution, to retain influence, or because they’ve already adopted progressive theologies that blur doctrinal lines.
• 2 Timothy 4:3-4 warns of this:

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine… and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

• These churches may preach tolerance, peace, and unity—but without Christ as the only way (John 14:6), they will become part of the deception.

2. Some Will Resist and Be Persecuted

• Bible-believing, Spirit-filled churches and believers who refuse to bow to the beast system or deny Christ’s exclusive lordship will face intense pressure, including:
  • Loss of legal status
  • Loss of buildings or funding
  • Persecution, imprisonment, even death (Revelation 13:15)
• But they will stand firm, like the early Church did under Rome, or like believers in underground churches today.
• Revelation 12:11:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

3. A Remnant Will Go Underground or Flee

• Like during other periods of persecution, some will go underground—meeting in homes, hiding in wilderness areas, or using secret communication.
• Jesus warned of this in Matthew 24:15-16:

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation… Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains.”

• Revelation 12 also describes the faithful “woman” fleeing into the wilderness, symbolizing God’s people being protected for a time.

The world religion may seem peaceful at first—promoting unity, acceptance, and “spirituality”—but it will quickly become a beast that demands loyalty and persecutes the remnant who stay true to Jesus.

So, what if my church refuses to join this one world religion? Will we all be destroyed by the Anti-Christ? Will God Protect us? Let’s again return to the scriptures for guidance.

The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible offers several teachings that suggest God will protect, preserve, or rescue His faithful people during the tribulation, even beyond the concept of the rapture. Here are some key themes and passages:

1. God’s Protection of the Faithful Remnant

Even during times of great judgment, God has historically protected a remnant—a faithful group of believers.

• Isaiah 26:20-21
  “Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity…”
  • This suggests divine protection during judgment, possibly a foreshadowing of protection during the tribulation.
• Revelation 12:6,14
  “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days… to the place where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.”
  • Many interpret this as symbolic of Israel or the Church being protected in the wilderness during part of the tribulation.

2. Seal of God’s Protection

• Revelation 7:3-4
  “Hurt not the earth… till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads… And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand…”
  • God seals His servants to preserve them from the coming judgments.

3. God’s Pattern of Deliverance Before or During Judgment

Biblical patterns support the idea that God often delivers His people in the midst of judgment, not always before.

• Noah – Protected in the ark during the flood (Genesis 7).
• Lot – Pulled out of Sodom before fire fell (Genesis 19).
• Daniel – Protected in the lion’s den (Daniel 6).
• Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego – Protected in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3).

I find great comfort in these past examples of God watching over His children during extreme circumstances. We need to remember that our same God will be with US, as things of certain doom come to be.

4. Revelation 3:10 – Kept from the Hour of Temptation

• “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation…”
  • Often cited by pre-trib rapture supporters, but others see it as a general promise of spiritual preservation even during tribulation.

The events of the “End-Times” are real, and cannot be ignored. We must follow our Savior Jesus Christ without exception. Pray for guidance and direction. Listen to your spiritual leaders and confirm their council with our Heavenly Father, through prayer, to avoid any deception.

This is not a time to fear, rather, it is a time to Yolk up to the Savior, knowing that He will be with you…EVERY MINUTE of EVERY DAY. God is aware that you are here upon the earth during this difficult time period. Trust in Him, for there is peace in doing so.
