AI in Practice: Expert Reveals How Technology Is Transforming Tourism, Education, and Social Equity in the USA

Have you ever stopped to think that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has ceased to be just a technological trend and has become a strategic ally in the growth of global companies? This is exactly what doitwell, an international consultancy based in the United States, has demonstrated by applying innovative AI-based solutions in the hospitality, tourism, and brand experience sectors.

With a focus on developing exceptional customer-centric experiences, doitwell combines data, technology, and creativity to help companies grow sustainably and impactfully. Using AI-based tools, the consultancy is able to identify behavior patterns, anticipate consumer trends, and create personalized solutions for brands that want to stand out in a highly competitive market.

AI Data in the USA

The artificial intelligence (AI) market in the United States reached approximately US$146 billion in 2024, with expectations to grow to US$173.6 billion in 2025 and to reach around US$851 billion by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 19.3% between 2024 and 2034.
Other reports estimate the AI market value at about US$37 billion in 2024, projecting it will reach US$109.5 billion by 2033, with a CAGR of 12.2% between 2025 and 2033.

In the hospitality sector, AI is projected to grow at a CAGR of 10% between 2021 and 2026, with highlights in food, beverage, and accommodations. It’s also worth mentioning the increasing adoption of technology in tourism, primarily aimed at enhancing the traveler’s experience — from trip planning to destination arrival.

To better understand the subject, we invited professional Nicole Cutrufo, digital transformation specialist and founder of doitwell, to collaborate on this article.

“Each person interacts with experiences differently — whether on a trip, in a museum, or in a learning environment. Artificial intelligence allows us to map these differences quickly and precisely, giving us the opportunity to create more empathetic, efficient, and memorable journeys,” says Nicole.

According to her, intelligent systems already allow the identification of behavior patterns in real-time, adapting offers and interactions according to user needs and proposing personalized experiences that increase engagement and retention.

“AI-based tools, such as recommendation engines, communication automation, and predictive analytics, are already part of our daily life at doitwell. They help us design more human-centered solutions, even though powered by technology,” explains Nicole, who also works with research and innovation in international institutions. Through her consultancy, she leads projects that integrate AI into brand experiences, continuous learning, and cultural initiatives — always focusing on positive and sustainable impact.

Innovative Solutions

In partnership with African Bridge Network (ABN), Nicole led a doitwell initiative to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) tools into career development programs targeted at skilled immigrants. The project addressed the underemployment of professionals trained abroad, offering AI-based resources for job search, networking, and skill enhancement.

By adapting digital solutions to the specific challenges faced by immigrant communities, her work supported a more equitable integration of these professionals into the labor market — aligning with national goals to leverage diverse talents to strengthen the economy.

“With much work and effort, I can say that I am founder of doitwell, as well as co-author of research for the European Parliament that shaped digital transformation policies in the tourism and transport sectors after COVID-19. All this work helped define good practices in digital visitor experience, data-driven customer engagement, and sustainable tourism — topics directly relevant to destinations and travel technology companies in the USA, especially in the sector’s economic rebuilding,” said Nicole.

Nicole also led strategic projects aimed at digital transformation in tourism and transport, collaborating with organizations such as the European Parliament and the European Union Forum. Her focus was to develop inclusive, sustainable, and tech-forward public policies that make essential services more accessible and efficient.

A Unique Resume That Brought Her Here

With this broad professional background, Nicole also ventured into the education sector — bringing not only technical and policy experience but a strong belief in technology as a tool for equity. Her work in tourism and urban mobility — sectors that face logistical and operational challenges similar to those in education — helped her design solutions that democratize access to knowledge and offer tailored support to thousands of learners, regardless of location, time, or background.

“At doitwell, our focus is to use technology, especially artificial intelligence, to create more meaningful and personalized experiences, whether in tourism, education, or leadership training. We work to connect innovation with purpose, always putting the human being at the center of every journey,” says Nicole.

More About Her Extensive Resume

Nicole holds a degree in Economics and a master’s in Environmental Economics and Management from Bocconi University in Europe, as well as a master’s in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida (UCF), in the United States. She has specialized in key areas such as Artificial Intelligence (DeepLearning.AI), Design Thinking, Agile Methodologies (Disciplined Agile Scrum Master – DASM), and Project Management (PMP – Project Management Institute).

Currently, she works as a Digital Transformation Product Manager with a focus on AI at a prestigious academic institution, leading cross-functional teams.

Nicole is also active in global communities focused on innovation and female leadership, such as Women in Product, Lean In, and IEEE. As a recognized leader of UCF and Bocconi alumni chapters in Boston, she is frequently invited to speak at conferences on technology, education, and digital equity. Her career reflects her mission: to make digital transformation accessible, ethical, and effective across all areas of society.
