10 Ways To Make Money On Pinterest

Here are my best tips and ideas about how to use Pinterest to make money online! These are my own ideas from the trenches of working with Pinterest for years!

I have been talking to my newsletter peeps about how to do Pinterest marketing, but then I realized that some of them might not know that THEY are candidates for making money on Pinterest! Here are my best tips and Ideas for how to make money on Pinterest!

These are in no particular order, just as they came to mind except the last one that is hardest and what I do!

Be A Pinterest Marketing Manager

You may be surprised to know that you don’t alwasys have to have a huge background in Pinterest to be a marketing manager (a basic knowledge of how Pinterest works is a MUST though!)

This is because many people who hire someone to help with their Pinterest account already have a strategy for their business and are hiring a Marketing Manager to implement their strategy!

Be A Pinterest Pinterest Pins Designer

I have two friends who HATED design but once they learned how to use Canva now love it! There are SCADS of classes out there on Youtube about how to use Canva and many creators struggle with being able to make their own pins!

Additionally, you can now use a tool like Ideogram.ai to have the pins made for you with AI! You put in the prompt and the program makes the pin (I still pull them into Canva to clean up so learning Canva is a must!)

Sell Pinterest Pin Templates On Canva

If you get good on Canva you can sell Pinterest pin templates by designing a set and then sharing a link to that template once you have completed the sales process! You can use a service like Thrive Cart or Gumroad to sell your designs on your site or sell them on Etsy!

Sell Your Products Using Pinterest

If you have an actual brick and mortar store you can ABSOLUTELY sell your products using Pinterest! While I would suggest having some kind of online shop like Shopify where people can checkout online (it is SO much easier than the old checkouts if you haven’t tried selling online in a few years!)

If you don’t want to make your own store you could list your products on Ebay and then link to the Ebay product from Pinterest!

Affiliate Marketing With Pinterest

If you are a Realtor or other professional service provider, selling your services on Pinterest is probably not going to be super effective, BUT you can sell affiliate products related to your service on Pinterest!

For example, a Realtor could take a picture of a cute house they are showing and make the outgoing link to a similar product for sale on Amazon or Share A Sale! (I recommend Share A Sale because I use it and they have much higher commissions than Amazon!)

Grow Your Pinterest Boards and Charge To Promote Other People’s Products

This one doesn’t require you to do anything else but be aware of Pinterest SEO best practices and then Pinning other people pins!

You would make a Pinterest account, set up and grow strong boards and then sell your clients a pin on that board for a certain amount of money! For example, when you started maybe you could charge $25 a pin, but as your business and influence grows you could charge more and more going forward!

Promote Your Etsy, Amazon or Teachers Pay Teachers Products

I always promote my Etsy products on Pinterest! And recently I have started selling Tshirts and other products on Amazon that I promote using Pinterest.

The cool thing about doing this is you are driving your own traffic to that platform (and yes, I do know that they could leave your products and buy something similar, but if you have great products this is less of a problem!)

Promote Your Shopify Products

If you are concerned about using Pinterest to drive traffic to other people’s products, then Shopify is you answer! Shopify is super easy to use (I KNOW, I sound like a Shopify shill, but it is true!)

The nice thing about using Shopify is that you can upload your catalog directly to Pinterest and show up in the shopping sections in a way that you can’t with Etsy, Amazon or the other platforms you don’t own!

Sell Your Books (Ebooks or Amazon)

Pinterest is a GREAT place to sell your books… it is a super bookish place! You can include regular links to your books or double dip by including affiliate links to your books, this way you get paid an affiliate commission AND a commission on the sale of your books!

Send Traffic To Your Blog

This is the one that I do! I use Pinterest to link to my blog posts where I have ads placed and get paid per 1000 visitors to my blog who see those ads!

This is a long term play but if you like writing and researching Pinterest SEO with a tool like Pinclicks you can make a very fine recurring income!
